Jim...just knew you would understand as I had seen where you had done some long distance days in the past...wife calls them the dumb butt rides. It wasn't what I started out to do, just they way it worked out I guess. Never really regretted not stopping until it was 4 am in the mountains and I was freezing and wishing the sun would come up. Carlos: the GPS is wired to a switched fuse box that shuts off with the key so the stopped time is more like 2:45. Need to rethink this as it was impossible to leave the GPS on while stopped. More Bug run pic's:
Jerry: (cue Lynyrd Skynyrd again)... big wheels keep turning take n me home to see my kin ... ... where sky's are so blue lord I'm coming home to you
Rubberdown: was that a MOTO MARK class? thinking of doing one of his clinics instead of the ERC next time. |

Flyn, no; it was a BMW Explor event at the BMW performance driving center in Greer, SC. This was a freebe event for BMW owners but I'm planning to go back for the full course, $$$. They have on and off road courses and it's pretty hardcore stuff depending on your level. The instructors are HIGHLY trained and very effective. I was very impressed. For an additional $75 you can use their bikes. |

I looked real seriously at the BMW GS adventure but couldn't justify the additional $$ at the time...someday I will own a BMW. Do you have to be a BMW owner for the full course? or just have the funds. I have not talked to anyone who has taken his (moto mark) classes on or off road. The ERC is great just looking to expand my horizons. |

It's a work in progress, as I've already spent the majority of the day getting it to this point, but I've finally begun posting about my trip to Germany in June. Check it out here and remember it's a work in progress. More will come as time allows, but I'm about 30% through the pics I have/want to post. 1313 |

Flyn, you don't have to be a BMW owner to take the courses. |

Brankin- WOW looks like an awesome trip. I've been trying to win a trip through MB and the Master tech program. haven't gotten there yet but I'm going dangit. I did notice the Mercedes building behind the Buell/HD (notice the order) dealer. any idea what building that is? it also was nice to see some of the older benz's being restored. I just finished working on a '68 model about a month ago. what a dream car. your a lucky fellow. I'm envious. cyclone- nice pics, haven't been able to steal away long enough to take the ride. With the wife pregnant and work picking up I'm short on time and sleep. can't wait until I can take one weekend to go. |

What FB said! There are attachments with the e-mail I sent to everyone. Did you get it? If not, let me know. It has all the directions and cell numbers, etc. Carlos and I plan to drive to Raleigh tonight and stay with Jim & Rebecca. We'll get his Uly loaded and then head out early in the AM. We should be in Suches around 1-2 p.m. The cabin will be open. The Hudson Valley Crew will be there. Just drop your stuff and go ride. We will have to figure out who is going to stay at C3 Outpost once I get there. |

Mapquest will get you confused, get some directions from Kristi, trust me on that one. MAPQUEST will get you within about 6 miles then start sending you through some 'paths ' no bigger than your bike! |

There were two motorcyclists that died when I was out there two weeks ago and I heard that police were going to to step things up. I don't know if you guys are aware of it but I highly recommend to go down 28 south of 74!!! I never once seen a police officer and quite frankly, when I was down there, I hardly seen any bikes south of 74 on 28. If you can...take it all the way down into SC. It's a treat!! I hope all of you have a great time and be safe! Wish I was there. |

Buelltoberfest was great! Had a chance to really visit with the 3%er's and an opportunity to meet so many people I've only chatted with on-line. Looking forward to MBV. |

Any responsible NC Ulysses owners interested in an extended demo ride on a Firebolt? I've got an itch and I'm curious if a Ulysses will scratch it. We'd have to work out the details of course, but I'd like to trade bikes for a week or so to really get an idea of what it's like to live with an XB12X. Any takers? |

G2 - I can set you up with some cookies! I was glad to see you and your son out. I know that Glitch was looking forward to meeting you, but seeing as I was busy with baby Hayden, the best I could do from the porch was to shout at Glitch as you two were passing each other! |

Spike, I'd be happy to trade with you some time, though it may be about 4 weeks before I'm in a good position to do that. |
