Author Message   Fly Posted on Tuesday, June 03, 2003 - 02:04 pm:        Rode Blackhawk racetrack yesterday on a Kawasaki 636. They did a fine repaving job. Surface is smooth and consistent everywhere, with predicable traction. Entire width is now usable for more speed, passing (or emergency cushion!) without the surprises of the old bumpy track. They also smoothed out rumble strips on sides of corners (making them appear less intimidating, still wouldn't want to hit 'em) and cleared away some foliage for better rider vision into corners. Much easier to concentrate, push and refine personal limits now that track surface isn't an issue. Combo of new track and repli-racer produced the most fun I have every had riding a bike. Sure would like to sample a X9 on the track some day (hint, hint). I suggest the chapter consider attending next Blackhawk track day June 30 or July 21 before the cars start ripping up the track again. Windy City Buellers......anyone else interested in making a 1,2, or three day ride out of this? Perhaps hit Galena/Dubuque Saturday. Ride Prairie DuChein Sunday. Take long way back Monday via Baraboo/Sauk/Slimy Crud territory?? Options to return home whatever day suits your schedule. They will be sold at $5 each to help cover the cost of shipping them. To view the poster (minus a few logos) you can click on the link under "Quick Board" and "20th Anniversary Poster" thread in M2me's post dated June 9th. The poster will be 17" x 24" !! At this point we just need a really good idea of how many we need in order for everyone to get what they want !! When the poster is printed, possibly by the end of June per m2me, we will post the information on where to send the money for the posters, and as the checks are recieved the posters will be mailed out !!
