Jim- It looks like Bob and Deb will be over Sat. around 4:30. Cody and I are going to the practice track at 6pm. All are invited to go with us and I will be more than willing to take beverages. There will be at least 3 pocketbikes running. We will be going on our planned ride on Sunday. How old are your kids Jim? Give me a call if you have questions. 503 256-1184. Mike

Shotgun- I am not sure where you live but it sounds like we will be heading north to ride possibly around St. Helens. You could meet at our place since it is just on the Oregon side of the Glenn Jackson Bridge. Not sure what time we will be departing probably early but not to early. See post above from MTRBKMIKE on how to get here and if you need to give a jingle later. Home #503-256-1184. You are welcome to come for dinner too if you would like. Just let me know.

Chris & Loni- what are you guys doing? Are you up for a ride or dinner? We will be eating at 5pm sharp. I will cook extra just in case you show up.

Jim & Wife - if you hook up here you can also have dinner with us.... We always have lots. Hey and if the babysitter falls thru, just bring your kids over to our place and I will keep them for you. Your wife or you could drive them in a car and the other could ride then the two of you could take off together. Not sure if you ride two up or if both of you have bikes, but if you do then bring them and I will watch them. I totally don't mind so you make the call. We have lots of cool stuff to keep them occupied. Just let me know as soon as you can so I make sure to have enough dinner "stuff"!

Anybody else hungry?

I realize this is pretty short notice and I’m sorry about that, but if there is anyone left in Tacoma at about 11:00 am tomorrow (Sunday) that would want to go for a ride of about 250 miles through and around Mt. Rainier please either e-mail me or give me a call for the details.

raymaines@hotmail.com

(253) 752-2028

The road to and from Paradise Lodge is open and the scenery is beautiful beyond description. White Pass and Chinook Pass ain’t bad either.

I’m pretty flexible with the starting place, depending on who comes and where you are coming from. Bring a camera.

Steve- My wife is haywire. Last time I talked with Bob we were headed towards Hwy 224 Estacada to Detroit Lake. Feel free to call I'm sure things could change once the crew gets here. Mike

Thing The First, I will be there at the Swiss tuesday, RAY!
Thing The Second, It took Richard about 8 sec. to tell me the nut has spun of the primary shaft, leaving the 'basket' to vibrate in any and all wild permutations of true. If I'm 'lucky', it won't have a bent cranky shaft. So...I'm goin' in!

Hey Ray, funny you mention Mt. Rainier:
Mt. Rainier 6-7-03
I joined 11 other sportbike (all Japanese bikes) riders today from the Cycle Barn in Lynnwood and did a 265 mile ride around Mt. Rainier, up to Paradise, pricey lunch, back down to 706 and 7, through Eatonville, and back home by Lake Tapps and Auburn.
Prof Stack in Paradise
The XB9S ran perfectly, got 56 mpg, stayed with the sportbikes in all but the long straightaways (I didn't know GSXR's could do wheelies at 85 mph, did you? :O ). I didn't realize that sportbike riders insanely love SPEED! First time I've been over 100 mph in a long time. The Buell was stable so I didn't get too nervous.

Stayed cool by dousing my shirt with water and not zipping my Joe Rocket all the way up. 93 in Seattle today!

Hey Norm, Did I see you and your friends today?

I was sitting on a black Triumph where Hy 123 intersects with Hy 410. Ya'll were coming up from Greenwater, some of the metrics started up 410 towards Chinook Pass then came right back. After pausing a second at the crossroad, the group headed downhill, as though you might have been going either to Paradise or Packwood. At that point, there was a Honda 919 right behind the Buell.

That’s more or less where my son and I are going tomorrow if you want to come along. Small world!

Well tomorrow looks like it will be a good turn out for a nice Oregon ride! Mike, Bob, Deb, Jim, Steve, Kimberlie, Chris & Loni (maybe)? and another Jim (Mike's friend)- anyone else? We will leave our house at 8:30 am, see post above for directions. Unfortunately Duane could not stay and play - sorry buddy! You'll have to plan better next time. I hope you made it back in record time and safely.

Oh my gosh, Ray, that WAS you who I saw sitting by his black bike.

Yep, that was our group that did make the turn around when we missed the correct road. You should have stood up and demanded to know who that nut was on a Buell trying to play with the sportbike riders! :]

Oh yeah, it's nice being around other bikes that have decently quiet (stock or aftermarket) exhausts. The stock XB9S exhaust has a great growl when accelerating from 75.

Rest time in Paradise

Can't join you today, have schoolwork (creating a final exam) to do... But we WILL ride soon.

P-S says: "The stock XB9S exhaust has a great growl when accelerating from 75"

I didn't think they could go that fast. You're not talking kilowackers are ya? ;)

Well that will teach me to leave my tools over at BOB's...call me when you get home, homie!
And Prof., yes I did know about the strange wheelie powers of said monster-cycles! Pretty freaky, eh? And I'm sorry to say you probly won't like my aftermarket KOOK's set-up. I've been told it's a 'little' assertive, but smells good! (ask RAY2K)

Well I hope you all had a great ride today. I woke up at 6 am thinking I really wanted to at least ride over to Kim and Mike's and say hello to you all before you took off. Yesterday really took a toll on the hand. (Chris and I washed the house and I was the rinser) My thumb was swollen and really sore. About noon it started feeling better, and I thought about you when the sun finally came out. OH well, maybe next time. So is'nt that road great? Deb I know you must of enjoyed it, the sights are wonderful. Jim great pictures!

Had a kick ass time today! I can't tell you how cool it is to ride a Speed Triple (Sweet P Rocks) and be the last bike of 7 and see 6 others bikes ahead of me all leaning through a big sweeper! It was truly awesome.

Hey Deb- on the way home on I-205 we passed Jim Jones wife (the new Jim) on the freeway. She said to him, "I didn't know there were other girls riding". Mike told him about the classes at the college and it sounds like another might come over to the dark side! Jim called to say he really enjoyed riding with us and that he was really impressed with your riding skills Deb- so kudos to you sister! I told him yesterday "she is a chick, but she doesn't ride like one!" You proved me right! Oh yeah- you rock too Bob, but we already knew that.

Steve - thanks for letting me tuck in behind you (when I was actually there) and for waiting to make sure I was still there when you hadn't seen me for awhile! You are the sweetest.

Jim & Shel- it was nice to meet you guys and to ride with you today Jim. Thanks for posting the pictures of Cody and our ride today.

And what would a post be without saying thanks to my "dead sexy husband" for getting me addicted to my bike!

Glad you all made it home safely, hope we do that again sooner rather than later.

Oh yeah I wanted to mention on the photo of Cody's bike above, notice the custom bike stand? That is the work of a true professional. Uncle Bob made that for Cody and it actually has his name on the base of the stand! Truly cool.

OK, so back from BOB's, and out of BETTY for the night. Looks like 'it's nothing'. Primary chain shoe was eaten, and letting the chain whip the top-inside (duh) of the primary case. Thanks to RAY and Lyle's escape from Buell owner-ship, I have the up-dated part in-house! A few seals and we should be hell bent for leather! (what the fuck does THAT mean?)
OK you Tacoma FOGGies, lets get together tuesday at the SWISS to discuss the futur of the FOGG, fun shit we should DO this summer, fun shit we did other summers, you know, like that.
Now that I think BETTY is going to survive for yet another season, I'm in love once more...

sooner, GALEN
