I was worried when you left it running at our break stop that it would melt in front of us, that FAN will die of fatigue!

I was thinking about it when I got home but then I recall the rear cylinder will stop firing if it reaches a certain temperature, which it didn't, so I think it was ok. Btw, at the dealer, a motorcycle towing contractor gave me a ride home. His name is Robert Miller and his number is 410-840-4600. He operates in Md,Va,Pa and Del. If you ever need towing he's the man to call.

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to fellow Buell riders in the area. My name is Brian, I own a 2005 XB9SX. I have had it for a month now and have logged 1000 miles so far. I live in Mt. Airy, MD and have been riding back roads in northern MD and southern PA. I have yet to see any other Buells while I have been out. If anyone is fairly close to me and would like to meet up and go for a ride, please let me know. I am always looking to meet new people and new roads to ride on.

Welcome Brian. Rasmonis and a few others are out your way in the Frederick area. A few over in the Baltimore region and a few down around D.C. I think some of us are going to Summit Point in September for the races so keep checking back for more info.

I got word back about my bike today and it was the starter switch and NOT the relay.

It appears Liberty HD is having their annual open house on Sept 22 and, once again, Erik Buell will be there with his band. Anyone feel like riding up???

Hey Ya'll!

A quick question....

I'm down in Williamsburg, and I just bought a dual sport from a dude in MD.

It has a fresh MD inspection(no sticker, only the paper), but will the pokeys in VA honor that??

Thanks,

Tank

Grianp,

Welcome to the board.

I live in New Market and I am usually out more often than not. I've been checking the roads out by Opossumtown Pike to add some roads to a loop I'm working on. I'll definitely be out tomorrow after work if you want to go.

It's been a weird year and I dont't think I've posted a group ride in a while - fear not fellow Buelligans, I'll be posting rides again here soon and emailing to those on my list.

On my way back from NJ I found some cool roads we can take on the way to or from Liberty's open house.

Why wait til Liberty? I was just checking the map to see where we were today.

So who's familiar with the roads around Loch Raven reservoir. Let's ride around there next weekend.

Lots of nice roads around the res. That used to be my commute. Needless to say I never complained about the ride.

Unfortunately I'm out Sunday. Looks like Saturday's the day for me. Who's interested so we can set up meeting points and times?

Anyone from the Balto area care to show us around? If not, it will be a scout ride.

-Ras

Hey Brian how do you like your XB? Im the one that bought your old seat from you. It really helps with these long trips Ive been taking on the weekends! If you are going to be out and about on Sunday and want to go for a spin, let me know. Im actually going to be in the area and not out of state this weekend.

I love the bike, I don't have any complaints about it. Glad you like the seat. I know what you mean about the comfort. It is like night and day between the CityX seat and the low one that I have. It feels like an entirely different bike.

I will most likely be out with a friend who is a fellow Buell owner on Saturday. I don't know what my plans for Sunday are yet.

Me neither? Probably just tool around on Sunday. Maybe ride up to the Gettysburg Harley dealer? They seem to always have something going on during the weekend. Let me know and we can meet somewhere Sunday morning.....

Hey Pete,

Saw your bike in the shop last night. Fuel pump? Sure is a pain getting to it. I have to check my fuel sensor, I get false low fuel warnings. I'm not looking forward to taking the swing arm off to check a tiny sensor in the fuel pump assembly.

Brian, where are you riding on Saturday? IF no one's interested in riding around Balto I'd like to tag along and ride with you and your buddy.

There's another Buell owner in Mt. Airy he has a Thrust Blue XB12S with Amber wheels. I've only seen him once, and I rode with a friend of his the other day on the way home from work.

Rasmonis, I am not sure where we are going, we havent quite planned the trip yet, but I can let you know if you want to meet up. You wouldnt to have the extra puck still from when you replaced the one would you?

I have been keeping my eyes out for fellow Buellers. I saw a Ulysses on Sunday heading into Mt. Airy and saw a Firebolt up in Mechanicsburg, PA on Saturday morning. I have only seen one other Buell since I started riding, a black Firebolt with red wheels in Sykesville a few weeks ago.

Jose', I'm riding to the drags on Friday afternoon from Altoona, probably picking the 'pike up at Harrisburg East, getting off at old exit 22 and running some back roads to the track.

Grianp: I have an extra right side "S" puck if you need it. I used the left side...

Ras, sorry, but I'm gonna miss Liberty's Open House this year. Altoona is hosting there version of a biker weekend and I'm leading another Res Ride loop for guys at our church-and anyone else who wants to tag along. We're also going to do a "Biker Sunday" morning service as well. Have you given any more thought to going to Homecoming (HC) next year? If I do HC, I'm gonna pass on MBV-just the wrong time of year for me to take a 6 days off to go ride. Alchemy said he'd be interested in sharing expenses if we truck/trailer/hotel it to HC.

I'm on my way to Danville this afternoon.. If you're goin' look for us.. We'll not have the bikes with us this time.. Damn electrical gremlins got into my Buell and it's at the shop being hunted...

Anyone else heading down?

Not taking all my camera gear this time. The wife is actually happy about that since I go into 'work' mode and she can't really enjoy the races as I'm hunting for the good shots and running all around the track trying to 'get my shot'.. so to speak. So, I'm thinking of renting a golf cart once were there.. hehehehehe... Yeah, some hot rod huh?

Not sure how much riding I'll be doing this weekend. The voltage regulator or stator went out on the "Beast" last night on the way home from work. I'll be testing them tonight.

The battery's all charged up again, I'm not sure what to do with it, it's a warranty part, but to get it I'd have to leave the bike in the shop which I do not care to do.

They replaced the stator the last time. What would cause a stator to go twice? A bad voltage regulator? I'll have to check all my wires and grounds tonight if I want to go out Saturday. Hopefully it's just something loose.

Getting stranded sux. Following a tow truck with you bike on the back sux 2. It is well worth it to have AAA with 100mi towing. It's paid for itself already.
