Here's a very rough draft of a business card. I'm sure someone with more experience with photoshop or other software can do more with it. I have the logo in jpeg and gif if someone wants me to e-mail it to them.

I got my bubble popped tonight. I'm cursing home on my little Blast, happier and bigger than anyone. When I see blue lights in my mirror. I thought I must have been speeding. I really wasn't paying much attention. I pull over and the policeman comes up and says, "Is that some kind of motorcycle? I thought it was a scooter. It sure sounded like one. Scooters are only suppose to go 35 and I know you were going a lot faster that that." After humiliating me he let me go. I almost would have preferred a speeding ticket.

KPD or LCSD?? They must have been bored tonight! Glad you're still enjoying your Blast. Carlos still wants one for a daily commuter.

Just wanted to drop in and let everyone know that I made it back home last night from a wild weekend to end my trip to Germany. 1,241 pictures have been downloaded to my hard drive. Unbelievable experience! I am speechless. Since this coming weekend is the Smoke Out, I probably won't get anything posted until next week sometime (if even that soon...). No, not all 1,241 will make the cut, otherwise it would be my retirement project...

Here's one picture I will share now as it is pretty appropriate for the latest discussion.

About sums it up

In checking my held mail tonight, I noticed a mailing for New River H-D/Buell's 3rd anniversary bash. Did anyone make it there? If I wasn't playing and partying with the Buellers in Germany, I would have been there.

Man - do I have a lot of crap to get caught up on,

I began the process of changing my front tire last night. I started by removing the tire, and in the process discovered that I could remove the pinch bolts with my fingers. While certainly convenient, I believe I will be applying loctitetm when I reinstall them.

I took my old wheel to Cyclegear last night to get them to install the new tire. As I pulled into their parking lot 30 minutes before closing, I realized that I probably should have brought the new tire as well. Todays lunch includes a field trip back to Cyclegear.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I still haven't decided on a back protector for my upcoming track day, they're they only guys locally that keep them in stock. What time are you going?

Sorry I'm just checking this now spike. I went at about 11:15. I'll go back at about 4:30 to pick up the front tire, and if I can get it on the bike and the rear off before 7:00, I'll take the rear in as well. I can only change one tire at a time with my jack situation.

I should take a picture actually. I have a stack of phone books under the muffler in case the bike comes off the jack. It's a highly professional setup.

That is brutal. You should have said "I'm sorry. I didn't know I was speeding in the part Mr. Ranger."

I went to put the front wheel back on, and I could not get the axle to thread. : ( Mark came over, and with large amounts of brute force, we got it on there.

That's great. I was once pulled over in this great little town for having too many characters on the license plate. We'll just have to add it to "Stupid Cop Tricks"

By the way, Nevets is our third Bueller at work. When we are all there we out number all other motorcycle makes. We still need to get him out on a ride. Maybe if he rides with some bigger bikes, the law will quit pulling him over. I think that will be the only time I will be able to say we will help someone not get pulled over. I can understand why the law thought the bike was a scooter. Jonah is about the same size as Jim N. so it make the bike look that much smaller.

"with large amounts of brute force, we got it on there."

That doesn't sound good ... Does it thread and unthread normally now?

U4 came by last night. It was great to catch up.

yeah it was a bear cause when they tapped the hole the threads got messed up where the hole goes through the bottom of the of the forks. I threaded it in then out then back in just to make sure there were no seizing issues. the threads are not torn up or galled, and the axle looks new, probabally a case of not the best factory machining combined with a ham fisted shop tech when the front tire was replaced once before.

Look Ma, no spacers.

It's done!

I put new pads on the bike to. I took it out and broke them in according to the manufactures instructions. There was smoke coming off my rotor. : )

Hey Nevets,I wonder what would have happened if there were two Blast Riding together.I know that M2NC and I caused a double take each time we went riding together.
Example: Hey Webe, was that you riding that wheelie the other day? Naw man It wasn't me it was that guy that lives in Grifton.

Now there will be 4 orange Ulys riding out this way! You can really mess with the cops down Old Maple Hill Road! Of course, with our luck, they'll just pull all of you in!

While I was doing some work on the shed last weekend, I decided to try to crank the Ascot. To my surprise, the old battery charged up and I was able to get it to run, but just barely. It will only idle with the choke wide open, and any throttle kills it. I let it run long enough for the fan to kick in. I'm guessing the floats are hung up. Doesn't surprise me. left gas in it when he parked it over two years ago. I was hoping it would run well enough to take it out for a spin, but that will have to wait. Since the carbs have to be pulled to get to the float bowls, I'll wait and clean them when the motor is out to replace the failed o-ring behind the water pump. It was almost one quart low on oil from the slow drip. What a screwed up design. It was nice hearing it run again, even in the "whisper mode". Later...

Nance...I still have my old muffler chocks, I made/cut myself for the stock xb exhaust. They work very well, but you will still need a square moto lift. Phone books would make me very nervous. If you might want them, there yours.

I personally like the stack of phone books. That's true home made engineering. I have an weight machine I strap the bike to for support. I do not use it for anything else so at least I have found a good use for it.

The phone books are there "just in case." I had to leave the bike up on the jack over night, and I wanted something to hold up the bike in case the jack let itself down.

Thanks for the offer Twig, they sound nice. Unfortunately I don't have a jack that will work with them. : (

Red Blast Blue Blast
One Blast Two Blast

I went to Michaels this morning. Gramps was there and we talked for a couple minutes. I didn't get there till late, so most of the bikes were gone, so I didn't stay long.

Right after I turned onto 64, I passed a blue Blast. I whipped around the next turn around and began pursuit. Just as I was coming off the rev limiter in 2nd gear, I passed a group of bikes going the other way. There was a red Blast in the pack! I started looking for Mark, and I saw his Sportster up front. I whipped around again at the next turn and set off in my original direction. I'll only drive so fast on public roads, so it took me a few minutes to catch them. They were tied up with some Goldwings, and I got up there right as the Honda's pulled into the Iron Horse Bar.

They were on their way back from the Smokeout. Brankin and Glen had been at the Smokeout as well, and sent greetings.
