(btw...2nd gear pushin' by myself and she fired right up first try!) it acted like your car does when the alternator goes out. slow dim of headlights, and then the dash went out. at that point we pulled it over and called for a truck. so i guess it's the stator or the voltage regulator gone south. not sure which would cause her to behave that way. can't think of anything else it could be. callin' SM-B tomorrow to schedule a drop-off. hopefully the warranty gods will smile upon me... Jolf -- Congrats! i hear that rider's edge and other MSF type courses can teach 99.9% of riders something, no matter how much experience. yer probably safer than a lot of us now! show yer girlfriend that line!!   Sanchez Posted on Monday, April 30, 2007 - 10:52 am:        Do yourself a favor and replace both the stator and the voltage regulator. When one goes out, it usually takes the other with it. I slept well last night and am still exhausted. I had a rough week last week. Monday I gotta speeding ticket on 78 in Oconee. 79 in a 55 yea! Getting tickets in the Ranger is a stupid way to spend my go fast tax. Then I got a ticket in the mail for 70 bucks for turning at an intersection after the light had turned to red. Then I was leaving a show at the Masquerade Thursday night and got pulled over by ATL for accelerating though a yellow as it turned to red. Luckily he was pretty cool and had better things to do. He asked, "Do red lights work the same in Athens?" A good friend of mine is racing in whats called CMC (camaro mustang challenge) with NASA Pro Racing and I hung out with them this past weekend... It's a cool group with some great racing... and I love mustangs and it could be a safer option from racing my Buell... well just thought I would let ya'll know... if I do sell my 9r I will let ya'll have first dibs at it... Maybe I should follow BS's footsteps and part the thing out... Don't sell it! You know how many 03's were made? Somewhere around 5000. Now imagine how many have been wrecked or parted out for choppers. You've got a collectable, it just isn't worth that much yet. If your in to Mustangs then you understand. You gotta wait to reap the rewards. But hell, if your racing, that's good enough reason for me to sell. Don't part it out, I know it's worth more but I love my Buell as I know you love yours and couldn't see it go in pieces. Good luck! I was reading my XB12 Service Manual today, and I noticed that there is a large warning statement about "Do NOT put Race Fuel in your Buell" Now I know that many manuals say things just for legal reasons, but is there any specific reason that you guys know about. Like, say, damage to some sensor (O2), or some sort of internal damage that can be caused by running Race Fuel? I have never actually messed with the stuff. Last I checked at Road Atlanta, they only sold race fuel... and it was $7 per gallon. Seeing as how my bike's drive train bits are all stock, and I would be in the novice group, I really don't see the need to even bother with Race Fuel. Carrying spare fuel is not an option as I will most likely be riding up and back solo with no support vehicle.   New12r Posted on Wednesday, May 02, 2007 - 07:29 am:        Digital. I have used 105 octane mixed with 93 and had no trouble. Really you don't need it. Unless you start running into detonation problems you should be ok. I don't recommend riding to a trackday. How you gonna get home if you crash or have a failure?? So...If anyone has any inside scoop on IT jobs, I'll consider them, but this may be an opportunity to think about a new career, since there is shit for work in this industry anymore.
