Y'know...I didn't ask her to even get involved...We hadn't even discussed a party...What a woman!!

And before I even move in...What's the best surface for a garage and shop floor? I've tried regular floor paint in past houses and it was too slippery, I tried the stuff with sand in it and it was too rough. I'd love some suggestions from the mechanical bunch.

I've got the epoxy floor sealer.
It hasn't got sand in it, but these little black and white flakes you spread out before it dries. I like it just fine. Make for easy clean up to be sure. A small oil spill can be cleaned up with a paper towel.

If you need any bathroom accessories let me know. I have lots of toilet paper holders, Robe hooks, towel bars, towel rings,grab bars.

Do you have any Fire Extinguishers? This is a must for any home. One under the sink and one in the garage by the door.

When planning a date for "Octoberfast" (what a great name!) be aware that the last weekend of October is the True Grits 50cc road rally at TWO, it draws about 4X March Badness. Also the Woody Gap school has its big festival one weekend in October and draws leaf maggots from all over the state. Speaking of leaf maggots, while there are leaves on the trees flatlander slow-pokes clog all roads. First three weekends of October are sorghum festival in Union County (yee-haw)so accomodations can be tight. However, by the first weekend in November most of the leaves and all of the lookers are gone. Some folks even say they can see through corners without leaves on trees. On an entirely different note the weather should be back int he 70's and sunny on Thursday. Anyone playing hookie in the mountains?

The Grand National Finals & Suzuki Cup Finals are 10/10-10/14 its only 45 minutes or so from Suches. I'll be racing on the 13-14th. I'd like to ride the "Octoberfast" if ya'll decide on other dates than that.

I'm riding my sons "3%er Z50R special" this year in the True Grits rally..

kdan -- way to go! btw...on the floor covering for the garage. we just started using a rubber tile setup. i forget what it's called, but so far i like it. it interlocks and is non-slip. spilled a little oil on it yesterday and didn't fall on me arse when i stepped in it. (big plus!). i'll track down what it's called. might be worth lookin' into.

tommy -- i know i'm headed up friday after work and will be in the suches area saturday morning for most of the day. i think chihuahua_stud is comin' up from the stone mountain area, and i don't know who else. there will be a constituency there meeting at dale's, i can tell ya that! anybody else in?

reading thru one of the Oktoberfast threads above, i was reminded that this is a small, wonderful world:

...i just mailed off a money order to Stone Mountain H-D/Buell in the amount of $312.33, to help Torqer and Shred get back on their bikes after their recent shunts at BRAG's "Runnin' the Ridge" Adventure Ride.

this money was donated by the participants of Oktoberfast 2004, and represents 100% of the donations we received (and includes the $ from recycling all the beer bottles from the weekend).

i guess it goes without saying that i really appreciate the generosity of the folks who invaded Ferrisville this weekend, and i hope that their kindness and compassion helps a couple of fellow BADWEB'ers get their lives back in gear.

again, kudos to everyone who attended this year's shindig - sure wish Oktober came more than once a year.
