Below 50, I plug it in and turn it on. Easier to pack in a pocket than the leather thing and it makes all the difference in the world. It's just sitting in my garage. The cradle is bolted to the jack. Kinda a pain in the ass to remove. Sham rock your face off!!!!   Jolfvr666 Posted on Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 05:25 pm:        rode for about 2 1/2 hours today all around forsyth/alpharetta. when i stopped for gas i was just lookin at my bike and noticed that it's leaking oil from the tranny from the shifter and clutch cover. also, it idles really odd, sometimes it sounds like it's misfireing and only runnin on one cyl. but just at idle, i rev it and it's fine. and it doesnt happen all the time. any ideas? New gasket for the clutch cover and a seal for the shifter. The rough idle could be a buncha things. Try making sure the plug wires are seated first. Those more skilled at diagnoses than I (New12r) could probably figure it out in a minute.   Sanchez Posted on Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 09:57 pm:        Yeah, check the plugs first. You might have one fouled or a loose wire. The derby cover gasket and shifter seal are really easy to replace. If you have oil leaking out the shifter seal, it's probably just from when the bike tipped over, though, because there isn't normally any oil that high in the primary.   Jolfvr666 Posted on Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 10:12 pm:        that's what i was thinking. i am a mechanic, i will just start with the basics, i was just wondering if there was something odd i should be looking for. this will be really my first time workin on twins   Xbullet Posted on Monday, March 19, 2007 - 12:32 am:        smokescreen, so sorry! didn't get to a computer again till just now. you shoulda called me! i can run 'em by the shop tomorrow, though, if you're workin' and ya still want 'em. jolf, the only thing no one has addressed yet for cold is the very item i swear by... UNDERARMOR!!! that stuff is great. even down to 40 or so, i just wear the underarmor cold gear under my jeans and i'm good. i wear more up top, but it's all the stuff everyone else mentioned. ALSO... until you spend big money on warm gloves, you can keep a pair of latex gloves handy to wear underneath your other gloves. kind of a pain sometimes, but i always try to keep latex gloves (for cold) and a few garbage bags (for rain). newspaper and duct tape can get you through a jam when you're caught in the rain also. Great day and not any traffic. Very few bikes out. Mike was at Suches but you can pretty much count on him to be out riding. The video starts on Black Mountain Rd and ends at Dales. Headed to work, running a little bit late, but no big deal. Get to 85, and before I can get to the HOV lane, the front tire goes flat, fast. I get over to the emergency lane, give MrsG a call, and she's on her way with the truck. It's cold, so I occupy my time by counting police cars that go by. One...two...drive by... Traffic is getting really thick, and I'm getting cold... Three...four...go by... MrsG calls and has made it to 85, but is still a few minutes away. Number five, turns on his lights, and pulls in behind me. This cop is an absolute nut! Asks me if I need a tow or anything, and lets me know he'll stick around until we can get the bike on the truck. He asks me if I want to step around the back of his car, so when MrsG gets there he can act like I'm being arrested, this guy is a hoot! MrsG gets there, and while I'm tying down the bike, the cop walks up to MrsG, and starts telling her she's a slacker for not bringing us hot coffee. The cop was a real nice guy, funny too, a rare breed he is. It's MrsG's first day at her new job, and she's about 20 minutes late, I hope they understand, I'm sure they will, but MrsG was still real nervous. It's 9:33, and I'm just getting here, so I guess I had better get to work. Tough way to start the week Glitch. At least we are getting the bugs out now. Let the shakedown continue. I got my TPS reset yesterday. However, it did not solve my surging issues. Took my bike over to the G families for enchiladas and a plug swap. Glitch pulled out the double platinums New12 r had recently installed. The front was pretty black. We replaced the fancy plugs with the stockers and so far all is well. Anyhow, I need new plug wires soon but other than that I think things are getting into shape.
