I could rotate it back enough to get the cross bar on, but then the bars hit the tank. Will those mirrors fit on the brackets without the bar? If so, I'll definitely take them. All day! The 129, 180,60 loop looks good, a little sand on Wolf Pen, but really no big deal. I ran up to the Cricket store and had lunch with Mountain Rider's lovely bride. I took our young SV650 friend with me and I think he has a better appreciation for what real riding is all about. Anyone can go fast in a straight line. Enjoy the weather the next couple of days, cause it looks like the weekend is going to suck. Clown, I know you sell gear. But I have a rule that I don't buy my gear where I buy my underwear. Oh, and watch the cops on hwy 400. Even Tuesday morning there was a significant police presence. I kept it to 5 over. No cops at all in the Mtns. Give me a call whenever.   Jolfvr666 Posted on Wednesday, March 07, 2007 - 01:52 pm:        i think i hear crickets on the board, everone out enjoying the nice day? signed up for rider's edge today.   Xbullet Posted on Wednesday, March 07, 2007 - 01:54 pm:        I almost bit it this mornin... from the stop light, turnin' left onto the interstate on ramp, i lean off the seat, stick my knee out, and begin to twist the throttle. it was a feeling i've felt many times before in many glorious turns, no matter how big or small. just then, my tires gracefully float over a patch of teeny rocks on the roadway. that's when it got hairy. the rear tire tried to pass the front tire on the right. i stayed on the throttle, thinkin' "i'm about to high-side...here it comes"...i've never had the bike in that deep of a slide. even on purpose! i stayed in it, rear tire boiling, and rode it out, but somewhere in there i must have let off the throttle a little. the back tire grabbed before it got straight, kickin' the rear end back to the left, and slammin' my left calf into the left side passenger peg. i must have really come off the throttle at that point. the front end acted like it was gonna do a tank-slap, then it was like a shiver from the front end to the back end. the rear tire did one more little shimmy, and i had her back under control. then i looked up and realized i was in the OFF ramp instead of the ON ramp. (there was no wall separating them that close to the main road.) so i get back on the on ramp and realize 2 very important things... 1. good thing there was nobody gettin off the slab at my exit at that moment. 2. i think my left leg's broke where my calf hit the pass. peg mount. so i pull over. a cager in a dually stopped to check on me too. didn't catch his name, but i appreciated the gesture. flip the kickstand down (with my left leg...that's a good sign), lean the bike over, take a deep breath, and put weight on it. good. i can stand. this is good. it's not broken. it's now lunchtime. i had a little blood, maybe a small bruise (i don't bruise easy). i limped for a few hours, but i think i'm good. can't wait to get back on and ride home this afternoon. hopefully this trip will be less eventful. so...a close run in turned out ok. ya'll be careful out there. hope everyone stays as lucky in this good weather.   Xbullet Posted on Wednesday, March 07, 2007 - 01:56 pm:        by the way, this all happened at some point in 1st gear within 25 yards of the intersection.   Mrs_glitch Posted on Wednesday, March 07, 2007 - 02:00 pm:        Yikes XB! Never get on it before you've put at least a few minutes over the speed limit on them. My ride to work is 10 miles and my Pilot Races never even heat up by the time I get here! Ask New12R about cold tires. Proper warm up before ANY evasive manuvering! I now stand down. Good, I knew you would. I was cruising nice and light like, out of the 'hood on the Blast, cause, well, Blasts need lovin' too. I'm riding along and see this medium size black dog take off running, looking like he wants to pace the bike. Well, there are no fences in my 'hood and as I get closer to him, easing off the throttle, he shoots right at me, I hit the rear brake, cause I'm afraid he's going to hit me in the front and I wanted a little distance between him and my front wheel. So as the bike starts to slide around to put the back wheel at the dog, He runs head on into my foot peg on the right. I let off the brake, straightened the bike Looked around and ole 'Blacky' is going the other way at about 90. I just kept going to work. When I got there, my seat made a sucking sound as it came outa my ass. I went back home for lunch to see if he needed another lesson, but I couldn't find him. I got gaskets at the house and really I have never changed them on any bike and been fine. It's like they have a little trajectory computer in their heads.... bastards. There is a house that I drive by every morning on the way to work, it has a HUGE front yard, probably about 2 acres just in the front. The first time I went by it on the bike, I catch a glimpse of two large white things approaching my path from the right... I check it, and it is two big german sheppards, hauling it at top speed to intercept me. I got on the gas hard so as to get there first... adrenaline starts to rise as they get closer to the road... Then.. I notice that they are actually behind a fence... Once they get to the fence, they throw out the hooks and come to a stop.. one of them starts spinning in circles barking. It was pretty funny once it was all over. Now, every morning when I ride the bike... there they are... flying through the yard, and up to the fence. The one, just stands there and barks... the other spins like a top. They don't seem to give a flip about cars. I think they actually are doing this for fun... their tails are going like mad the whole time.
