Well I was there.. Got there a little after noon and once I'd found a parking spot (not easy since they had a pretty good turn out. Ran into a few other Buellers.. and that was all good, we chatted a bit, then spent some time speaking to the staff there.. Man, I hope we didn't scare them too much. We had a lot to say to them about what we've seen go wrong at other dealers. Now, they have a good bunch of ideas, including coming here, to BadWeb to see and hear what can be done to improve their Buell presentation. They (I think) would like to become a real Buell dealer.. Part of it comes from the fact that the owners used to have a Japanese shop and still believe in sport riding and sporting bikes.

So, they said they were biting their nails waiting to see if they'd get Buell, they did and now.. They want to figure out how to make it work, let's give 'em a chance...

Hello,
it was good seeing everyone there at Old Glory Nice Meeting Blublak and a couple of other buell riders and missed RAS.Brad from Old Glory was trying to find out when we were available in March or April to do something with Buells. Saw Spops there too and we are talking about getting a Total Control class full you get a 50.00 discount per person for 12 people from the school. I have been setting up a class with Total Control for July 14 this summer with some of my co-workers from Annapolis HD. If anybody wants to join us.... COME ON! lets have some fun and sharpen our cornering skills! K

Hey all "DC-VA-MD Buell Riders",

Activity here warrants moving your listing on the main Storm Fronts page to the top with the other more active groups. Just a heads-up notice so you don't think your board got deleted. : )

Will add the capability to start new threads too.

If you'd like anything (information, web content, whatever) added to the top of this main page, just let me know.

Thank you.

Your humble servant and BadWeB custodian,

Blake : )

Maryland.. Basically the intersection of 197 and BW Parkway, if you're coming south from Baltimore, just past Ft. Meade. Exit headed East and it's right there after you cross under the parkway. Not a huge dealership, but they are looking to do big things.

As I stated earlier, I think we should strike while the irons hot so to speak and see if we can't get them 'Buelled Up!'.. so to speak.

I stopped by this week and spoke with Brad. They are very excited about the turnout from the Buell owners in our area.

Rider's Edge classes will begin in April with registration in March and pre-registration available now. Classes will fill up quickly.

A Buell rep was there this week not sure who and I just missed them. I was invited to speak with them at a later date which. Looks like they are planning to sponsor a Track Day for local riders, I'll post that information as soon as I get it.

Other items:

With BRAG out of the picture, I'd like to see at least a regional Buell Owners Group form. I'm sure Jose is working on something if not let get something going and get our group posted on the Buell site.

I gotta go!

Looks like exciting things on the horizon for all of us. I look forward to meeting more of you and getting back on the Buell. See you guys as soon as the weather breaks I have to focus on my winter project before I lose focus.

A regional group was something I had been thinking about for a while, even before "BRAG" dissolved.

We could have meetings at different dealers each month so we are all not riding to the same one all the time, or we can all meet at our local dealers then ride and meet somewhere for a combined ride, things like that.

Daytona 200 & Buell B-Que:

I have a crew cab pickup reserved from the 8th til the following Tuesday. If you want to split it, I'll pick you up & your bike to head on down to Daytona. If not I'm going to have to cancel the reservation and wait til next year. I was planning on straying @ Vegasbueller's. Last year was freakin' awesome. Total cost of the rental $278. I have straps and a ramp. We can even ditch the truck on the FL border in Yulee & ride down to Daytona.

Leave Thursday night comeback Sunday/Monday,

Anyone interested let me know.

Hey Jose'
Your idea about meeting at other dealers is great! We would be out there spreading the Buell "message" to other people who may not have seen so many Buells together. Although, I do like meeting at Ft. Washington HD/Buell!

Also, I was at Old Glory HD/Buell last Sat. Got to talk to other Buellers and the staff there. They seem to be really interested in future Buell events. Does anyone know when the Buell demo fleet is scheduled to hit this area this year? See ya! Brian

I was just informed by management that we will have the Buell demo fleet at The Buell/H-D Store of Baltimore May 19 and 20!! Sounds like a good meeting place for a regional Buell Owners Group meeting. As I get more info, I will post it here!

Yeah, I like the 'regional' floating meeting idea. Those dealers that don't want us.. well.. we'll not want them either.. the rest, that are serious.. well.. there you have it.. we'll visit them all.

As for events, Ramon and I had hashed out a few ideas for one.. we'll need dealer support of course and I'll bet if we can spread it around with more then one dealer having to put in.. well.. that might bring us a bit more.. (one dealer supplies munchies/hospitality for a day - then it goes to another the next day) .. That also opens up a bunch of neat riding routes to and from and around the different shops! Ok, I'm getting carried away here.. We should all get meet somewhere soon (I'm outta town Mar. 19th - Apr. 3rd) and start to plot.. uh, I mean plan putting something to the dealers.

I'm willing to host a season opening meeting for those who want to get involved in the planning process.

March is going to be busy if I make it to Daytona. So let's plan on an early April greet/meet strategy session. PM me if you want in.

Hi all, just an update from us here (Buell of Frederick) as well. We've confirmed the Demo Fleet for our Sportfest event at the Williamsport (MD) shop on April 21. At this time it's unofficial, but I'll probably be at our Frederick store on my S1W - or my Uly if I'm done monkeying with it by then - early that AM if anyone wants to make a nice ride out there for the event. Back roads and a winding route should net us about an hours' ride - for those who are unfamiliar, the roads out that way are GREAT - good surface, wide shoulders where needed, and VERY TWISTY : )

At the event, we'll have Battletrax, the demo rides, the new models (have a TT on the floor, but weather hasn't let me ride it yet - the baseline dyno showed over 95RWHP bone-stock though!), Bemisderfer and his RRs, and hopefully a lot of fun. We're still trying to nail down some other attractions for the event, so stay tuned or stop by the shop here in Frederick sometime and say "hi". I'm here every weekend but off on Weds/Thurs.

I'm also hammering the GM to give me some weekend mornings off this season so I can get some actual RIDING in, so hopefully I'll get a chance to put some faces to names here on the board and have some fun.

Oh...and we have the knit cap promotion going here if anyone wants to stop in.

I'm looking forward to another fun season. I pulled the cover off the S1W in the garage yesterday, had a seat, made the "vroom-vroom" noise. Looked at the snow in the driveway, whimpered a bit, put the cover back on. Nice weather'll get here soon enough, right? Please? <sigh...>

Joe,

Great news, we should have a good turnout, it's already on my calendar. I'll spread the word.

I got out yesterday on K's bike (mine's ready for MBIV and I don't want to get it dirty just yet-aawww)the wind in the afternoon was fierce! I needed to get out, I've been going nuts with this weather. I was shoveling snow Wed night to get the bike out.

I'll to stop by the shop tomorrow if go riding.

Ras, according to Buell.com, the Demo truck will be at Balti. HD/B May 19th, the date I had picked for the Res. Ride.

Are you planning to go back to Balti again? or should I reschedule the Res Ride the following week, the 26th? I can't do it the w/e of the May 12th.

As for the Demo truck at Williamsport HD/B in April, we'll probably come on down!

BTW: Congrats to the DC/MD/VA thread for "moving on up"!

Where's the photos that weren't supposed to be taken at the Timonium show? Good to see we're near the top!

My weekends are starting to fill up fast (damn this competitive spirit, and stupidity enough to run triathlons). So let me know what rides are going on. I'm a little chicken with the cold, so it may be a few weeks before I get up enough nerve to go out in the cold. As for the Baltimore demo, my brother decided to get married that weekend. So I'll try to hit up the Williamsport one.

I'll post weekend rides here once the season gets going, just check this thread.

Toona:
I think we should reschedule the Res. Ride for the 26th, and perhaps consider a rain date.

Folks, the Res. Ride is one not to miss! Aside from the rain last year, the twisties were excellent.

Ras,
I'm gonna move the date for the Reservoir Ride back a week to May 26th.

Ride start time 11:00. That should give some travel time for a 2-3 hour ride to get here w/o leaving in the early morning darkness.

I'll try to figure out how to post maps/pics from Google/Mapquest.

Once I figure out the "map thing", I'll start a new thread for the Res. Ride in the Storm Fronts area.

Who knows, maybe I'll also figure out how to get a video of the Res. Ride. Video's seem to do a lot of good for promoting the "event". I'll be taking mental notes at MB4 on how it is done.

Toona,

Use the new Yahoo maps to lay out the route it supports waypoints like google earth, but with better details.

Right click on an intersection or midpoint to set it as the next location. You'll have to play with it.

I think a video of the ride would be neato.

I'm still debating on the route to Altoona, slab it first to get there, or slab it home. I'd like to get there early, but getting to the Res. is half the fun!

It sure would be nice to have a DaveS style quality dealer within a 2 hour drive from here (Altoona, PA) The closest "dealer" (actually 2 "dealers") is 100 miles one way. Wmsport, MD is around 120 miles, give or take a little.

If they have Buell "SWAG", I'll travel. If not, they'll fall into the same category as the other 2 "dealers".
