They are only open from 7:00 to 3:30 Monday through Friday. If you are down I was thinking I would get the triple tree off the bike today so I can take it in there with me. I'm about 99% sure they are going to have to respray, so they might as well get the rest. I'm headed out for breakfast right now, but I'll give you a call when I get back.

Here is the info on the shop that did my stuff. When you get powder coating done the industrial guys are never going to get it right and to the quality you want. Just to give you an idea of price. Everything that is gross black (wheels, frame, triple trees, and other lil stuff cost me around 350 total.

I went and picked everything up this morning. The wheels and bases look really good, and there was just one blemish on one of the fork tubes. You can tell that where they hung the tube got in to the powdercoat just a little bit. For the price I paid I just took the stuff. I'm going to have the guy at Cafe Racer just put the side with the blemish on the inside. I put my pulley and rotors on finger tight just now, and I'm going to drop them off at Cafe Racer in about an hour. On the front rotor the small steel colored spacer goes on the bottom and then the black spacer goes on top correct? That is the way it seems to work to me. All of the rotor bolts when in with no problems except for one that has some spray in it. I didn't want to crossthread it, so I just got it stuck in there and I'm going to warn the guy at Cafe Racer about it. Hopefully I'll be able to pick everything up from them tomorrow and put it all on the bike tomorrow night!

Everything is at Cafe Racer. Those guys are really awesome! I've spoken with a couple of the guys that work there before, and I got a chance to speak with the owner for a while this morning. He said he would love to have more Buells coming in, and from my experience the work is top shelf and they are great to do business with.

The owner and I went over everything I brought in, and decided it would be a good idea to retap all of the bolt holes for the rotors and pulley in order to get any excess powdercoat and loctite out of the holes. They are also going to clean up the fork slides, axle holes and fill the blemish for me too. He said that he would take care of me on the price for everything too.

I would much rather do business with Cafe Racer than Smithers or any of dealerships after this experience.

It sounds like they have changed their tune a bit since I last spoke with them. I took a little minor ribbing from those guys at Hastings last year over the Buell brand.

Greg and Nick definitely know their shit when it comes to racing and fixing motorcycles.

Have you put your levers on yet Duff? I got mine today. Did you have any issues? I'll probably be trying to pick everything up from Cafe Racer this week so I can put the bike back together this weekend.

Looks like a totally different bike!...just what the doctor ordered!

I'd love to paint my forks black like those...maybe on my next fork oil change/seal replacement.

Got a fellow bueller in Pittsburg, KS who wants to sell his '04 xb12r if anyone is interested. I posted up his info and pictures in the classifieds. I don't know him personally but talked to him from the KCSB forum....

Ya but Loren then I would be broke, lol, I love messing around with those guys.

But seriously the pipes are done, there will be copper tips on them that will add about 2in in length. They will be wrapped and that's it.

Jeff the color will be Coal Black for the frame, tins, front forks and engine. The wheels and other misc items will be copper.

Oil is running through the frame so the oil bag will house the electronics since I am keeping it fuel injected.

Intake is off of an 01 X1. There has been quite a bit of metal fab work done since there are not any reasonablly priced quality frames out that work with the XB motor. The rear wheel had to be sent off to the machine shop so that it would work with a standard bearing since the XB come with a bearing that is the only size bearing in the world in the OD and ID.

Rear fender was a 18in fender blank that has had quite a bit hacked off of it and still has a little more to go.

This is the shop that is getting my seat done www.anvilcustoms.com, if you look through the gallery my seat will look alot like the Indian one but have KCLW tooled into it.

Also I am using a rear mountain bike shock to give the seat a little bounce.

Bike should bee done by May but who really knows so far there really hasn't been any road blocks that took very long to get past. But only working on it one day a week and sometimes not getting to it at all or waiting on parts to come in has been the only set back well besides cash.

Tim it looks good but we all can see you are just one of those greedy corporate home garage bike builders. No, union labor now, later it will be "Hey guys, I'm moving to China to build my next home built bike"
