I'm not trying insult anyone at all. I'm point out that he has been to meetings to to give the ideals that he has. It now there is problem and I'm bad guy.I'm not trying insult anyone. If it came out that way I'm sorry not what I'm trying to say. The group of guys have there have their own agenda own things and may involve buell may not. I'm at lost to fix it you. Roger whole thing is out content and I have try to get more people involved. Now you come out the wood work tell me these things. Two I thought I would get are not interested.
"First thing is first, if i wanted to join HOG, i would have a long time ago. Nothing against them, i even own an HD, however its not what i am into, so if this is the direction the club is going than we either need a new president, or maybe I should consider leaving all together.
I would like to hear what some of the other members think. If they would like to hold elections, get new bylaws together, and maybe even consider doing some other things
Again i would like a little more input before i make any decisions WRT what I would like to do, or even how to go about doing it
but i am no HOG member, nor will i be
but thats me"
Made statement that I'm as trying get people to join hog. I want us visit with other groups. The structure is same there officer and group. We don't have the same bike, but it is the same structure. All clubs follows same guide lines as a club. Down from jaycees,HOg,Marine corp league,Masons and shriner.

Then Mxer talk about insult"if this is the direction the club is going than we either need a new president" Roger That statement hurt me bad I come to every meeting not missed one.

Now, now boys. Happy Festivus everyone! Let's get that aluminum pole out and we don't stop wrestling until someone gets pinned.

That said, I won't be able to attend 11 Jan. I'll be in sunny California being inaugurated as the 2007 president of ASHI.

But, looking forward to the Feb meeting.

I would find it very sad to see the first best Brag group ( when I was in) not reamin.I look from the distance with hope.I can only suggest that the club needs to stay away from anything that can not include riding.I have been in events that the club had that riders abandoned other riders for thier intrests...I thought our intrests was riding..also the insults thrown around here at very sad..I say look at who is and is not contributing and then just post rides and let them that want to attend come.I want to ride with my old club but fear the confusion and inexperence..but I would show up for a ride that was just that..I dont want to fight about how I was driving or how I wore my colors or how ugly the guy next to me is.I want to see and ride a Harly sport bike and I hope that is what this club will build. I will ride but if you dont want me (shoe bomber rtfm John) then I will just ride without.

Hi Fellas,
Happy Holidays! How are things changing within the club? Please keep the info. flowing here. How was the Christmas party?
Someone interested in March Badness? Sounds fun. Is there a trailer being offered by someone? Sure is a pretty good ride for a day trip. Can I come? I will have a new bike for the trip. Any other plans for 07?

I'm interested in March Badness and am seriously considering two wheeling there.

I did a mapquest and it is approximately 700 miles from Chicago, IL to Suches, GA which is the Two Wheels Only resort location for March Badness from what I've gathered from the bazillion March Badness posts.... http://twowheelsonly.com/. I've never been to badness, but it looks like loads of fun.

Late March/Early April weather is always questionable, but based upon the global warming we are already seeing this Winter, we may have mild 60's riding weather by 3/29/07 in Chicago. We are also heading South which will help.

We can break it up into two 350 mile days if two-wheeled. Day one through Indiana will be a bit boring, but looking at Kentucky and GA some decent terrain relief and scenery will make Day 2 a bit fun if not downright exciting with some research on the day two route which may take us off of superslab onto Blue Ridge mountain twisties.

I've done two back to back Super Slab 500 mile days before with a friend on our Chicago to Colorado Springs Trip and that was a bit taxing, but two 350's should be doable leaving us enough energy to enjoy the riding at March Badness that weekend.

Here's a riding schedule I'll propose. If the weather works out and there is interest in doing it, then I'm in for two wheeling to March Badness. If a group would rather trailer or if the weather looks crappy, I could switch to trailering as well. I myself don't have a trailer and would prefer the sense of accomplishment and fun of a two wheel adventure.

Day One Thurs 3/29 --> 350 miles or so Chicago to just into Kentucky on superslab. Ride as long as we can on Day One, so we can get off Superslab on Day two and make Day two enjoyable riding. Hotel wherever we end up the night of 3/29.
Day Two Friday 3/30 --> last leg to Suches, GA. Superslab and two lane highway mountain routes identified via route research.

Day Three Sat 3/31--> March Badness riding and activities
Day Four Sun 4/1 --> March Badness riding and activities
I would opt for camping at the two wheels resort for the nights of Day 2, 3 and 4 as the resort has most of what we need covered....Eat, Drink, Sleep, Motorcycle, shoot the breeze with fellow Buellers, shower. I have a four man tent (three comfortably really) which I can bungee on my Ulysses passenger seat which I'll make available to two others.

Day Five Mon 4/2 --> Return Trip Suches, GA to Southern Indiana. Hotel somewhere that night.
Day Six Tues 4/2 --> Return Trip Final Leg to Chicago.

Back to work on Wednesday 4/3 where we can brag to co-workers about how cool we are.

Trailer the Bikes option: Rent/borrow trailers and replace Day One and Two with a straight through 12 hour 700 mile drive to Suches, GA resort on Friday 3/30, with a one day return on Monday 4/2. This saves two vacation days, but will incur additional cost for trailer rental and cage fuel and also miss out on part of the fun of getting there. I don't have a trailer, but my volvo station wagon with a single axle trailer could haul two bikes (no fat chrome hogs, just sleek light sport bikes). We'd be better off finding someone with a big truck or Suburban and a larger twin axle trailer which could haul three to four bikes.

Paul, the new Ulysses owner in March 07,
Once you pick up the Uly you will find it's so damn comfortable you no longer have to trailer and can enjoy the ride. I would recommend more wind protection than the stock Uly screen for long trips like this in the form of a laminar lip or a larger screen.

All,
Let me know if you think I'm crazy or if you are interested in the challenge of riding to March Badness also. To me this is 6 consecutive slimeycrudruns (but only for buell riders) with some camping thrown in.

Jan. 11th meeting, pay your $10 dues & recieve a ticket to the int. motorcycle show in Feb

This is a great idea!!!!
Pay your dues in January and get a free ticket to the IMS show, thats a savings of $5 if you didnt pay your dues!!!!!

Just so i understand this and dont mix it up, if i show up pay my yearly dues of $10, i get a free ticket, what if i cant make it or can not be at the meeting???

You also must pick ticket up at Feb. meeting in person. No exceptions!

So i have to be at both meetings???? Sounds fair, No lines to wait in at the IMS, and maybe we could meet up for breakfast or maybe dinner or snacks after the show on friday(friday night is a great night to go, and its never crowded)
Anybody have an idea about where???
Good job guys and way to start the new year
heres looking at 2007, hope i have more time to ride and have a good time
R

Marc, you're an animal.
Actually, your trip suggestion sounds like fun, as I too enjoy the challenge and somewhat unpredictable element of the "adventure". Unfortunately, I won't be able to get away from work in the March/April time frame.

Four things:

1) A reminder that our monthly meeting has been postponed until next Thursday, January 11 at 7:00.

2) Marc- Yes, you are an animal. And I am interested in being an animal too. It sort of depends on what the weather is looking like at the time, whether my bike finished, if I have the funds, etc. It sounds like a lot of fun, keep me in the loop.

3) Roger- You got it. Show up to the meeting on Jan 11, pay your dues and your bike show ticket is free. You just have to pick up your ticket in person at our February 1st meeting. The bike show is Feb 9, 10 & 11.

4) On a more somber note, I've received some disturbing news. I just got off the phone with Cy after calling to let him know of next week's meeting (he doesn't own a computer). He told me he has hit a financial rough patch and had his gas shut off today. He and his family were huddled around an electric space heater as we spoke. He told me how much money they want to turn it back on and I am stunned. I feel like I need to do something to help him out and have just finished writing a check out to him for $50, which I'll drop in the corner mailbox as soon as I post this. He didn't ask me for any money, doesn't know I am sending him any and doesn't know that I am posting this. If any of you can spare some scratch, I urge you to drop $10, $20, $50, or whatever in the mail as soon as you read this. He needs it right now. His info:

Cyril Nawrocki
3838 So. Honore
Chicago, IL 60609

I think this would be a great way for all of us to start out the new year. I'm looking forward to a 2007 with a lot of smiles and Buell miles. (Is it possible that I'm a poet and don't know it?...or that I unknowingly plagiarized that snappy smiles rhym?....hmmm...) See you all on the 11th.

Hey,
The "Amazing" has returned, I want to confirm that the next meeting is 01/11/07? Dad and I showed up at ILHD today 01/4/06 neither of us had checked Bad Web recently so that would have explained things. Well I've got an idea for this coming year that the group could ride out to at Route 66. I've been a member of this club for about a year now and yet I haven't done a ride so I'm lookin' to get out there with the rest in '07. Latter

I have just send off some money to him today in mail.Far as given 50/50 that would be up to everyone if that what everyone want to be done. Are if you want just take up collect for donations that works. He may be at the meeting on 11th. Not sure if he wants his business out there like that. Not sure what group has in the bank maybe take half and what people want to give present that to him in meeting just few ideals think about.

Marc,

Sounds like a great ride in March/April, I too would be interested in going via the two wheeled route. I do have control over my work schedule NOW for that time, as January/February are already dictated. Would like to converse more on the "devilish details". Thanks for the idea,
