This just in:
Quote:Mar 27, 9:42 am ET VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) - A girl was recovering from injuries on Wednesday after the shopping cart she was riding in crashed while careering down a hill at an estimated 45 miles per hour. The girl suffered a broken shoulder and "road rash" after she and several other youngsters decided to take the cart for a ride in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby, but lost control of their gravity-powered vehicle, police said. "Although the incident appears to be one of thrill-seeking, police remind youths that partaking in activities such as these can result in severe injuries or worse, death," the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said in a news release. None of the other youngsters was reported injured.
Well, that and being charged with petty theft. Oh no, wait. That wouldn't be PC would it? After all, the girl was injured. She must be a victim. Urrp! |

Well I hope some of you come check out Cody on Sunday at Willowbrook Mall. The pocketbikes are guests of the local YSR club so it will be fun to watch all of those little bikes rip up the parking lot. We will be leaving Saturday around noon so not alot of free time as we must return Sunday night. Mike |

Harv I'm not 100% sure since we are invited by the YSR club. I believe around 9:30 10:00 things should start and I hope over by 5:00. You should swing in and say hello if you have time I'll be the one standing on the side lines looking all worried. Cody's bike is #8, red polini flying yoshimura GSXR replica stickers. I have a Chev crew cab truck and will be hanging out in our all white canopy tent. I'm not sure how Cody will do since he is racing with adults on 10+hp bikes, although he should hole shot everyone. Since there are no rules governing this race I've prepped his bike to around 5hp which is a couple more than he is allowed in OMRRA events. It will do 40mph, hope he remembers to turn. Mike |

Kimberlie, Eva was so excited to go see the little bikes race. I showed her the above posted picture before we left. LOL She couldn't stop talking about it. (When we got there she clammed up of course. Haha) Too bad the weather sucked so bad. It looked like it would clear up, but by the time we had to start for home (about 45 min drive from our place) it really started to pour. I hope everything went well. Not sure how the race turned out. Cody is a great little guy. He's sure lucky to have such a dedicated Dad and Mom to back him up! |

First off thankyou Lo, Harv, & Kim for cheering Cody today. I'm sorry I did not get more free time to talk with you guys but I was frantic trying to make Cody's bike run. In my greed to make more power I installed a K&N style filter on his bike. Huge mistake as it instantly filled the motor with water. Even after installing a coke bottle deflector and one of Cody's socks for added protection he only managed 3 laps in the final. Big mistake leaving the stock air box at home. We both learned a valuable lesson. Good part about today is I now know what it should take to run in rain and our persistance of making the grid on the final netted Cody 4th place. The other 2 bikes that DNF went out to qualify for the grid ate a bunch of water never to make the final. Oh did I mention it was darn wet in your neck of the woods. Mike |

Mike, It was good to see you again. Too bad about the weather. That was probably the most rain we had this winter. It was great to meet Cody. Taylor says Hi and he hopes that maybe he can ride with Cody when he gets his bike next year. Good luck to Code Red in the upcoming race season. Harv |

Hahaha, yes Littleone that was me! Driving my daughter to school. I saw you smile in recognition so no worries on the wave. (Sometimes the hands are busy aren't they?) Was hoping I didn't distract you but there was traffic happening anyhow. Must have been a bit wet on your commute, hmm? It was hailing on the drive back. Bummer! See you around... hopefully I'll be on my Blast next time! Ride on... |

It's like a brand new bike. I love it. Oh Don't worry you didn't distract me i waiting for all the traffic anyway. see ya |

Yes, it rekindled the spark of fun when I modified my Blast. It is a bit loud at times, but at least I get noticed and in traffic... that's a good thing! Although it may prove to be a cop magnetic too... so far so good tho! |

Yikes! Did anyone see that article in the Sun about the police busting some "street racers" on the Squamish highway? A pack of five cars, after midnight, nailed at 120kph. The front two got $450 fines, cars impounded for two days, licences suspended for two weeks, and have to talk to the MV superindendent to try to avoid a one year suspension! Does that seem a little draconian? Cops are quoted as saying,(and I paraphrase) "We have a real problem with motorcycles. A group will meet at a restaurant, decide to go for a ride, and then see how fast they can go around the corners. We've had a couple of fatalities." Maybe I better put the buckhorns back on! |

Yikes is right! How many times have we er... um... seen riders do that? (Wouldn't want to incriminate myself, now would I?) Looks like the fuzz will be on the look out, not good news! So, has anyone committed to the Canadian BRAG event yet? Apparently registration deadline is April 21st, 2003. |

Anyone going to the Tsawassen vintage swap this Sunday? The parking lot is usually better entertainment than the event, unless you're actually looking to buy something vintage. |

Didn't even know about it Eric. Well, it's our daughter's birthday party Sunday, so we won't be going anyhow. Good thing someone posts local events on here... thanks Eric! |
