He is still sick and of course, being the gentleman that he is, he gave it to me! If yall don't have any plans for tomorrow, swing by the casa around 1 or so. A deer ran into the road and at the last minute decided to run back into the woods. If it hadn't I would have hit it dead center. Crap!!! Scared the sh*it out of me. I can't describe how close it was. I locked up my front tire for a bit. I had no where to go so I am glad that little bastard decided to turn around. My life is officially over for the next 6 months ,that's okay though the rewards in the future will be well worth it. Drift glad you are okay. On the way home last night from lightingDave's house. There was a dog tied to the front porch of a home in the neighborhood, well his rope came all the way into the road, so when we were riding by in the dark he came out an almost made us wreck, thanks to new12r's fantastic manuvering we managed to miss him. . Guys I have been in Dallas since July 1st... I had to have surgery on my crohns disease again, so I am at my parents recovering... I will be back at the begining of Aug and will be moving into a new place the first weekend in Aug... hopefully I will be back to riding by the end of Aug... I am doing great and miss the mountain roads... Can't wait to get back... Smoke I will catch up with you in a couple of weeks about the blinker... I forgot I had ordered it once I got here... Glad you all had a good time at Barber... wish I could have been there... That would have sucked!! Well, I went to 2 brothers tires yesterday and I have to say that they are top notch. I took a risk and had them do my tire change entirely due to time constraints on my part. I took my manual and was prepared for a couple of grease monkeys. I will have to say I was really nervous but, they were great. They had worked on XB's before and knew alot about them. They actually looked up the torque specs to put everything back together. I stood right there with the pony and watched everything and they did an outstanding job. They were very careful with the belt and were very through with everything. So I get there and only one of the Syncs I had ordered came in. They had several full sets of the pilot powers so I went with those. (so much for a mileage tire). I have to say that the profile is really different but, I think I will like them. On the way home the sky started crying on me and I found myself in the worst storm I had ever ridden through. I have been through some bad ones but, this one felt like it was just after ME. I eventually found a gas station and hung out under the awning for a bit. Man I got soaked to the bone along with everything in my Buell backpack (XB manual included). I am here to tell you that riding in the rain on a new set of tires is crazier than a tazered turkey. I might be up for a little mountain trip too. All my lights and signals are working again, and I even have a rear brake pedal now. I had to go back to the factory M2 foot pegs because the shifter geometry is just completely wrong with the reversed S3 pegs. Shifting feels much better, but I feel like I'm riding with my feet on the ground. The Buell slingbag is good for many things, but keeping out water is not one of them. And with no cheesegrater to buffer the rooster tail it was full of water that my Buell manual soaked up. Guess I know where my next 30 bucks are going.
