I'll mention it to dude again when he calls. Ever since I informed him of the problem with the Firebolt he has been acting strange. Who knows where this thing is headed.
On another note I just got a call that my carry permit is ready to be picked up. Your jealous now ain't ya?
I am really hoping that the weather holds as well since I need some unwinding time from the stresses of the bike fiasco and softball.

Nuts,
14-6 win tonight but the girls looked horrible! I think they would have been better off losing to deflate their egos a bit. Only 5 more games left and I'm done!!!
Went and bought Tony an ugly stick and paired it with an old Shimano reel I had laying around so the fish better watch out tomorrow. Are we going to keep any of the Rock Bass for a fish fry?
See ya tomorrow afternoon!

Nvts,
Fine bit o' angling today my brother! Gotta say I am proud of your quick grasp of the simpler techniques. Just think with several more years of my tutelage you will be almost half as good at it as I am.
Tony said you seemed like a good dude and spoke highly of you which is pretty rare since he seems to think everybody is a peck LOL. I was surprised, especially since you outfished him.
I had to fight the urge to throw that snake on him but figured he would go retarded on the spot and start flopping around like Little John did when he fell in the creek. Course we could have broke out the ole' "I'm on the left side of the bank, I'm on the right side of the bank. I'm on this side, I'm on the other side". He probably wouldn't have found it as humorous as we would have.
Buy some rounds for the pistol so we can give it a try while we are up there Saturday.

Tank,
SWEET FIND!! Make sure you keep the Coons and Skunks away from her nest.
Where you been hiding at? Have you been getting alot of riding time in now that the warmer weather is upon us?
Perhaps we will get that ride in yet since it seems I will be keeping the Firebolt.
Jason and I are considering hitting Deals Gap sometime in September. Sound like something you might be interested in?

We will most likely re-locate the eggs to a safer location in a couple days. Hopefully before the critters get at em'. We hatched a huge lot a couple years ago in a 5-gal bucket....this mother may be one.

Riding, yes...alot, no.
I attended Cornerspeed on the 15th at VIR. Life changing experience, to say the least. I brought the beast back and put er' all back to street trim, and haven't touched her since, except for the battery tender. I don't know if I'm scared of the local dangers, or afraid that something else might happen before I GO BACK on6/19.

Yes, the crack is that good.

I need a cheap ricer to fill the void so my Buell doesn't get beat to death on the track. I'm as bad as ya'll when it comes to changing interests, but I think this one stuck.......BAD.

Don't let NUTS go to the track....OH that's right, he's looking to trade/upgrade to a Uly.

September sounds like perfect timing.
Let me know!

Tank,
I think you ought to break down and get the biggest GSXR that will fit your budget. The people I know who have or have had them say they are INSANELY fast and nimble.
Yeah, ole' Jason is lusting after the Uly. This is one of the first times that I agree with him though as I think it will be more versatile and practical in the long run. Gotta remember he is about 8ft tall so the Lightning doesn't make for very comfortable long distance riding. Plus I MAY have a chance of keeping up with him on that big ole' thing.

Actually, my friend, a late 90's gixxer 6-er is my best hope. But if I find a "deal"...well, you know.

I completely understand Jason's dilemma with the "S". I'm 5'6" and ride a "Low S". The low seat is like a concrete park bench, unless I'm "moving around" a lot.

Tank_ would you believe it may be cheaper to buy a new Ulysses than to take a free track day. I believe it brother and I can just see my eyes being opened to all the "road hazards" not found on track. Then I'm off the road and onto the track full-time, more gas, leather, repair parts, divorce. So I think I'll be setting on a Uly before to long. The problem is it has already been "too long" As usual I am NUTS. And that's the Ethiopian shim sham.

Jackie, Nut's
It is hard keeping up with ya'lls interest swing. Nuts I think the "U" would fit you like a glove, but I don't know about your riding style. The high COG will not be friendly to you if go in too hot(be very careful) go slow and be smooth till you learn the bike.
I caught three lg. mouth bass the other day with a silver torpedeo(top water plug) On the first cast I got this huge snapper mad and he chased the plug all the way to shore(shell the size of a dinner plate) Under water I thought it was the "gater" at first until I saw his head. He was about two feet back and the bass would come up under him and strike the plug.Ten casts and ten strikes, the snapper chased it for the first four. When fishing is like that It can be pretty exciting.
Well the weekend is here and its time to go racing, wish us luck and ya'll be safe.....Charlie

Good to hear from you Charlie, and good fishing too. I think I need to slow down a bit myself. I was quite impressed watching Seth chase me up the BRP @ 70 mph. Charlie,
We need you here to keep us focused man!
You know how it is, Jason is a young fella and he sucks me right in to wanting the latest and greatest. I gotta blame it all on him at this point. If you talk to him he will say it is the other way around but don't fall for it.
Sounds like you had a good day of fishing going on there. I took Jason for our second fishing outing of the year and he did quite well. Ended up catching 7-8 Smallmouth, 2 or 3 nice Rock Bass and Sunfish. I've been doing it for years and only caught a few more than him. I think I have converted him to a hardcore live bait fisherman. You know the kind. Cast the minner up stream and let it do all the work for ya' LOL.
Ya'll be safe at the track and be sure to post the results for us.
P.S. Post more often man we need the guidance of a level headed friend.

Nut's, Jackie,
Well we are back from the racing wars for this weekend. It was long and hot(on and off the track)
First race was a banked clay car track down near Savannah Ga.That eventually got rained out.(although we thought it could have been run)Got hit by three really bad thunderstorms(high winds tearing up tents and canopy's,knocking bikes over.) Hail and alot of lightning. We got lucky and hadn't unloaded when the storms started. So we drove to Augusta Ga. spent the night, then went to a track in Washington Ga. for an 8 am start(they decided to run both National events at this track because of the rainout, thus the early start)
Well the track was small and not much banking, but they had watered it good so you could ride and pass anywhere on the track(works good for us) Had some big name riders there from the past(Dave Aldana from the 70's Mr. Bones and a few more)He was in our class. We won the first heat and had fastest time,so we had the pole for the final.Unfortunitly they let the track dry out and get real dusty and dry slick in the corners.(which is a big disatvantage to the 2 stroke bikes(which we were ) most of the rest 4 stroke. We ended up third by a half bike length.
For the second Natl. event they decided to for go the heat races and go straight to the main event. They lined us up by the way we signed up and we were last rider on the back row.(not good,14 rider field)On a short track it gets kind of crowded. At the end we finished 3rd again by less than a wheel. Not to shaby a weekend, but we were hoping to win at least one of them....Charlie

Charlie,
Glad ya'll had a safe and successful day at the track!! With the crappy start they gave ya' I am very impressed with the 3rd place finish. I would absolutely love to drag Nuts down there and watch the team race.
We are planning on Deals Gap I believe in September. Think you might be able to meet us there? I just wanna do it so I can get my shirt that says "I survived the Dragon" .
Thanks for the tip about the primary. I went ahead and loosened it up. I still can't get a precise measurement (used the 3/4in open end wrench method) but I think it is close to 3/4in when pushing up. I did make sure that it wasn't so loose that it slapped the top of the primary cover though. I let the motor idle for about 10 minutes to heat up the oil before I loosened it up. If it was too tight do you think I damaged anything?

Nuts,
Hey Torquemada waddya say?
You have well and truly lost your mind!! Not to worry though I am sure we can find some use for your new found toy.
I got worried about the primary being too tight after reading some past threads so spent an hour fine tuning it last night. Spent 2 hours today cleaning her up and will be putting in another 2 tomorrow evening so she looks her best. I did notice some scratches on my front wheel hub so now you owe me a new rim (I'll settle for 2 cheeseburgers from Garden City Grocery though).
You missed a crazy good game last night. We won 12-3 and the girls played like I have never seen before. The other team only made it safely to first base maybe 5 or 6 times. That puts us at 8 wins, 2 losses and one tie. The losses were because they goofed off and played in the dirt and the tie was against the top ranked team. I found out yesterday we have the best record in the club by a large margin. Kinda made me feel warm all over .

Jackie,
Your maybe alittle to meticulas(lousy speller). Im sure you didn't hurt anything just letting it run for 5 or 10 min with no load on the engine. If it gets really tight you can feel the engine strainning alittle and generally you will hear a whine, but not always. When you get to that point your doing damage. Loosen up alittle and enjoy the bike, quality time is at a premium.............Charlie
PS...Nut's is hopeless without professional help.

So now I'm a bad mechanic too! Scratched wheel, overtightened primary, mangled oil filter, scratched brake caliper, can't sit still in the woods, uncontrollably small bladder. I forsee another extended trip to Florida in the near future! Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'm gonna get a PERM!!! I'm defecting from all these bad Buell vibes and heading over to where I can find people who can appreciate my unexplored wealth of knowledge. When you die at the palace you really die at the palace! I know, I am freaky like that. I try to enjoy it but find myself consumed by keeping it clean and making sure the bolts are at just the right torque specs LOL!!
Since Jason is in training as my squirrel dog I think we will call him Old Nuts paying homage to the Disney flick Old Yeller. Course Old Nuts kinda sound like something out of a cheaply made porno flick .

Charlie,
I started the bike tonight to let it idle after loosening the chain last night. It now makes that loud clunk when going from neutral to first or from neutral to second. Doesn't grind but is quite loud nonetheless. The bike also jumps forward a hair when dropped into gear. It doesn't creep like the clutch needs adjusting but rather lurches forward in conjunction with putting it in gear.
Its' kinda odd because when me and Nuts tightened it the other day it dropped in gear like butta' but you could hear the chain whirring which led me to believe it was too tight. I tightened it back up as little but am scared to go any tighter after reading about the serious engine damage it can cause. Does the popping into gear hurt anything?

Better save that deer estrus for hunting season. You're gonna need all the help you can get. As far as the roaches go, just remember how big and pissed off that snake was the other day. I have no qualms about introducing you two during a rather unexpected moment.
