"Please join us on our BRAG ride this June. Check out the Canadian Buell site. www.Buell.ca The first Canadian BRAG touring adventure, Rippin up the Rockies."

This sounds like an amazing ride. Is anyone thinking of doing it?

Loni,
Bum deal on the thumb, surgery is never fun. I was kind of disappointed it was only the thumb. That means you'll still be giving me the finger. Heal up quick so I won't feel so bad picky on you.

Hey if Ray can post old pics so can I! Doing some clean up last weekend I found this photo stuffed between the pages of an old ASB catalogue. This should warm that cold winter blood.

Muscle girl on muscle bike

Off to ride in the rain. Enjoy!

Questions from a future Wet coaster...
Hey Gang, I figure this is the place ask about your locale. First off, I presently live in central Pennsy, but in a few years- tops, I plan on moving to Washington State somewhere between Bellingham and Blaine. Soooo... here are my questions.
#1. What are the Closest Buell/H-D dealers without going down to Seattle, and how would you rate said dealers ?
#2. Yeah-yeah the joke is the "Wet Coast", but how bad is it really? I don't plan on being any farther from the sea than 20 miles. Does that area get much snow ? And how much rain on average per month and what are the driest months and which are the wettest ?
#3. What is the cost of living like up in that corner ? What are fuel prices like, and whats the Minimum Auto/cycle insurance rates like(I'm middle aged with a clean record).
#4. What are you natives like- are you guys friendly- or do ya burn crosses on the lawns of easterners who imigrate ?
And please DO tell all the Pros (besides cons) for living out there...(twisty roads etc.)
~Thanks, Ralph

Women like that frighten me. If I somehow got my head stuck someplace that she could flex she'd make my ears bleed.

Well, now that I think about it for a moment.............

OK, Deb. Here ya go. Actually, I figured that everybody in the Western United States has seen either Lyle or me crash. We do it pretty regularly so I didn't think it would be of much interest.
Lyle's BikeRay's Bike

As an example: In Aug of Y2K when my bike was brand new, I was in a parking lot practicing for my M/C endorsement drivers test. I was standing beside the Buell and it started to tip to the left, towards me. I tried to hold it up but my foot slipped and the bike continued to fall, knocking me over backwards in the process. The M2 landed on my legs and bruised my knee. I landed flat on my butt and then slapped the back of my head on the pavement and knocked myself goofy.

I think the Buell suffered only a scratched turn signal but I really don’t remember.

not to worry about cross-burning -- the rain makes it next-to-impossible to get a fire going...

Ray - you go boy! I love that fact that not only do you dish it out but you take it too! A person who can laugh at themself is the best kind of all.

Thanks for the share! And BTW I will remember that you seem to always be equipped with a camera so when riding with you don't do anything camera worthy!

Ferris -Thanks for the Reply...of sorts. But HEY , nobody really answered my questions !!!!!
Is it coz you figure I ain't nuthin coz I like the *Baby* Blast ? Btw- I am a thumper fan and had gone the speedybike route b4.... I'm old and slow and like to keep money for other aspirations now. FYI, I was a Squid when young, but lived to tell about it after going down at 90mph on a curve.... I became a Thumper fan after that.... I'm also a cheap "Blastard" to coin a phrase from Prof. Stack.

Blastoholic- The Pacific NW rocks- you get all four seasons (not extreme though), would be nice if there was a little less rain so more riding could be done, but the roads are fantastic here. Lots of places to go and things to see and good twisties to get you there. The poeple here that we ride with are also some of the finest people you will ever meet. Very nice easy going and always welcoming (warmly) new riders. Sorry no one has responded yet, appears we are to busy worrying about a fellow rider and her surgery or about slamming each other? Go figure Blastards!

Defectors always welcome.

Kimberlie

Loni- let us know how your surgery went. Praying for a quick recovery. Ride on Sister!

Well. It's friday night and it's still raining. And more predickted for tommorrow. And the next day...and yesterday.gak! I can't take it no more! I'm goin' out tommorrow anyway! It's good to practice in the rain anyway! Any other's? in the rainforrest for a rain-ride? 11 'till one, in the liquid sun!

Hey! I found a worser dealer than Desacration today! Stoped in at the new 'Northwest Harley-Shmarley shop' on the freeway by Olympia. ( all of my female friends PLEASE excuse me for this) I went up to this little piece of cock-candy they have at the front counter. This is who M&M means when he sez 'trailer park girls go round the out-side' She is wearing a bandana....for a top, has a bunch of home-made tatoo's, a front tooth missing (honestly) and these little 'jewels' in the sides of her eye's. And I say "Do you have any Buells?" And she sez,"whats a Buell...?" She sez "hey Steve, can you help this guy?" Same question to Steve and I hear,"don't carry crotch-rockets, how about that V-Rod!" I felt like I was talkin' to this guy
Talk to you all soon!

OK Blasto, Here’s what I know about it all.

The area you’re asking about is 100 -150 miles north of the Seattle - Tacoma area and is pretty rural except for the Interstate 5 corridor. Bellingham is the “Big City” in that neighborhood and is a collage town with lots of things to see and do. A little further north is Vancouver, B.C. and it really is a Big City. In fact, it’s one of the most wonderful cities in the world, IMHO. Home of H-D of Vancouver (Trev Deeley Motorcycles). The roads and scenery up there are wonderful.

You have to understand that the closer you get to the water the worse the weather gets. It can get pretty windy in that neighborhood but, despite our reputation, it doesn’t rain all that much. It rains frequently but not very hard. It can freeze and snow in that area but mostly it doesn’t. I’m guessing the winters in PA. are worse. Your summers are probably better though. Both the people and the weather are pretty mild here.

The cost of real estate is lower there than in the Seattle area, but then again, where in the world isn’t? The price of products that are shipped in are a little higher than in a larger area, while wages tend to be a little lower. You would have to do a little internet research to get better cost of living information. Currently the cost of gas in our area is about $1.85 for regular and insurance rates seem to be no higher than any other place in the US. A phone call to your insurance company would be a better source of information.

I think all any of us would ask of you when you move here is that you wouldn’t blabber to all your old friends about how nice it is out here on the left coast.

You mentioned “Prof. Stack.” He's from the Seattle area and uses the GDB regularly, but for one reason or another hasn’t made much use of this corner of the BadWeB. Maybe he just hasn’t found us yet. Or maybe he has and we scared him off. He has a great looking 9S though.
