um... no... i can wear a pink shirt that says dont laugh its your girlfriends, if you want though lol! or one that says all my black shirts are dirty!
not very many hats fit me right, they are all designed for people with alot bigger craniums or just plain more hair than me. kind of like the fact that the xs helmet of your wifes that my friend bought fits me pretty good! |

OK, I'm in for a pair of pink hats and for the Friday BBQ at Appleton. Seems like the thing to do is stay near the factory on Thursday (If I make it that soon) and near Appleton the rest of the weekend. I've been reading back thru the thread and also checking the BRAG website...I give up, what are the official hotels?
I'm coming from Pittsburgh Wed eve or Thurs a.m. Dave Gess or whoever...tell me more about the ferries. Rand McNally shows two crossing from MI. Ludington to Manitowoc and Muskegon to Milwaukee. Are those to two that you referred to? Are reservations required?
If anyone else is planning a similar route, drop me a line. I will be traveling home Monday or even starting Sunday afternoon.

Ferry info...(amazing what you can find on Google!!!)
Badger = Ludington to Manitowac $52 per person and $29 per m/c.
Lake Express = Muskegon to Milwaukee $55 per person and $40 per m/c.
That's definately the route I'm taking!

Lake Express is faster than badger, badger's nicer, IMO, with nice places to chill out and catch your last restful breathe before the homecoming mandness seizes you |

I'm staying in East Troy Thursday night....and making the jump to Appleton on Friday. There is a very nice County Suites about a stone's throw from the plant. Tell them you are coming to visit Buell.
The Lake Express = Muskegon to Milwaukee $55 per person and $40 per m/c is the ONLY way to go. Chault (I call him Chuck) and I did that last year. Not only is it 312% easier, but it is an absolute hoot. When they say FAST...they mean FAST.

Don't forget to get your pink hats early...it'd be more embarassing than wearing a pink hat to NOT have one. I think it would be so utterly awesome to do the picture (6:00PM Friday night - Appleton, WI and another on Sat at the race track) with all of us wearing pink hats.
We want the factory to listen, I think the pink hats would send a very cool message.

What message do we want the factory to hear? That pink Buell hats sale or that the folks on Badweb will do just about anything Court suggest? (Like wearing pink hats) Please tell me more about the message. |

This, being the 24th, Homecoming will set the stage for what Buell decides to do/not do for the 25th. I am lobbying for significant owner involvement.
Ever for those of us who were coming to Homecomings when there were 6 Buells in the US, this one is going to be special.
Just be there....regardless of what color hat you wear. I'll be the one in the pink hat.

for those of you traveling through the Land of Lincoln to or from homecoming -- heads up!
Illinois will begin using photo radar in freeway work zones in July. Second offense tickets are $1,000 with license suspension. Beginning in July the State of Illinois will use speed cameras in areas designated as "Work Zones" on major freeways. Anyone caught by these devices will be mailed a $375.00 ticket for the FIRST offense, but the SECOND offense will cost $1000.00 and comes with a 90-Day suspension. Drivers will also receive demerit points against their license, which allows insurance companies to raise their rates. This represents the harshest penalty structure yet for a city or state using PHOTO endorsements. The State will begin with TWO camera vans issuing tickets in work zones with speed limits lowered to 45 MPH. Photographs of both the Driver's face and License plate are taken.

Along with that the Milwaukee area has some major reconstruction of the Marquette interchange near the downtown area with, uh, unique redirections of traffic, reduced speed/work zones, radar/camera trailers, variable road surfaces, and whatnot. Not hard to negotiate, but something to be aware of. |

Hello all,
been lurking on this board for awhile - checking how plans are coming along. we've had reservations @ Appleton for a few weeks, just got a room in E.Troy. Sooo... we'll be THERE!!!
looking forward to meeting fellow Buellers. we'll be leaving from NC on 5/30 headed north, if anyone from this area will be going around that time
