I'm going to start looking into getting ahold of Great Lakes Dragway. As we talked about Sat, we can't host any timed events but we can point people the way to them. I know the strip has been quieter in recent years so I don't want to say too much on the quick board until I can get some idea about whether or not this could work. | ||

Hey Dana... Ice racing went well! No trophies...had some bike problems, but it was fun overall which was the whole point. I think we got about 28th out of 53 teams (prepare for racer excuses...) and I'm sure we were on the oldest bike out there! Theres a Black art to making a good ice tire. Our bike had home made tires which had about 1/2 the grip of a set of Fredette tires, so it was pretty dicey at times. The 490 two stroke was so powerful it was spinning the rear tire constantly, even on the 70mph fast portion of the track....tended to want to go sideways easily. definately gets your attention! Lots of vibration too. I had 1 minor crash and one major crash. I got into some loose snow on the entrance of a turn and basically went into a tank slapper. Got highsided off and hit the ice on the same shoulder I separated this summer. My elbow must have went into my rib as well....felt ok last night but this morning my shoulder was real sore and my rib is killing me....only taking short breaths at the moment. Still it was a blast and our team raised over $200 for the Wegman fund. Stacey even had fun (thanks to some peach schnapps). | ||
