Roc- Matt at Cycle Gear is taking care of that and I believe the shop is off of 11th and Sandy. I'll try to get more info to you soon about the results.
Ray- that pricing is hiway robbery. Orange County Triumph is selling there 02 Daytonas for $6999. Will ship anywhere in the US. And I thought I had a good deal on my CE for $8999. Buell owners think they are the only ones being devalued by the dealers are wrong. Triumph missed the boat by building a lighter bike with a DSSA vs. keeping the heavier but more eye appealing SSSA. To there credit at least they give us what the public wants quickly. 03 have the nice and pretty single sided swing arms.
Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Mike

Kim,
Thanks Kim. Yeah I am planning on Spash and got to do Border Raid. I think I can do some shift swapping and be able to make both rides. Right now I have to figure out how to get my bike to Cycle Mart in Olympia. It's at Bob's place right now. He gave it his best effort but was unable to figure out the problem. It seems to be electric in nature. After the holidays I need to get with Bob and figure how to get it to a dealer. Hope you and Mike are having a safe and happy holiday, as well as everyone else who may be reading this.

Broken in the dark side.......

Paul

Green (Ya should have bought a black RS) Eric: Tell me more.

Did you go with the "T" factory Heated Grips kit? (Expensive but easy -- You do know how to take off your fairing don't you?) How did the install go? I'll tell you about my heated grips if you really want to know. (I'll show you mine if you show me yours)

Warm hands are the A number one, most important thing in life! No exceptions, no BS! I'd sit in the (heated) garage with flat tires and make M\C noises (Vrooom, Vrooom) before I'd go out on a cold day without heated hand grips.

BTW, Santa brought a Zero Gravity Wind Screen for me. I've installed it but have not tried it yet. Looks promising though.

Hi all, I know this has been brought up before but I can't seem to find where the actual dates for SPLASH were confirmed. So, when is it? Thx! - MG

Ray,
Yeah, they're the factory grips. They do look pretty easy to install, however the bike will be going in for service in a few weeks so I will probably just spend a few extra $ and have them put them on (that way if something gets screwed up, I won't be blaming myself for #%*!ing it up).

Did you go with the zg tall or double bubble??

Xtopherj: The factory heated grips in question are for a Triumph and the price is about $185.00 plus S&H, but there is no particular reason why they couldn't be fitted to your M2. American Sportbike sells a $28 pair of electric wafers that fit between the handlebars and rubber grips. I had installed a set on my M2 and now use them on my Triumph.

Eric: I e-mailed ZG and asked when they would make a Double Bubble for my bike and the owner wrote back and said they had no plans to ever make one because he didn't feel it looked right. Triumph has put windscreens that look like ZG DB's on the '03 models and after seeing them at the IMS I have to agree with the ZG guy.

My windscreen is a "Sports Touring" model and it looks like this:ZG
FWIW, the new window fits better than the original. It's been raining a lot and I haven't been out of the garage with the bike so I don't yet know if the extra 4"'s makes any real differance, but it looks good.

With the heated grips, taller (Sprint ST) handle bars, taller windshield, rear hugger, and Tour Master soft bags I think I 've got a pretty nice sport tour bike. My next alteration will be a set of mirrors from a BMW R1150S. They cost about $75 each plus hardware and tax, and are about 3 inches wider (6"'s total) than stock. I might be able to see behind me.

Picture of BMW mirrors:

They ALMOST fit and wouldn't require too much fileing and grinding to work on my RS.

Hey Cuz, Ole Mike in Bend made it to Splash last year and he was a sportin wunna them motorbikes that slings the cylinders sidewards.

He told us that he built it himself and he calles it a BMW. (Bend Motor Works I believe) any ways, we told him that he arta get some caster wheels and stickum on the end a those cyliders soze they wouldn't get scratched tryin to foller us and he said to piss off and..................................................................................................................................................................I guess them BMW fellers are kinda upity you know.

On a diffent subject, I finally got Pauls Daytona running. It was a loose fuel line in the tank.

Mike, I'm Bored!

Jim, It weren't easy! You have to remember it was me workin on it!

Acually it was just good ole powers of deduction.
If everything worked it had to be the supply route and since part of the supply route was in the tank, I had to get in there.
Kudos to Triumph for making them easy to work on!

Roadrash, if that X-mas pres is what I think it is, you've made us verry happy. In return, tell me what you need. I have some slightly used parts I can send down. Here are a few examples. Aluminum swingarm, Nissin F caliper, S1 bra (new), flyscreen, and lots more. Give me an idea on what you need and I'll see what I can do.
Feris, if you're still lurking, let me know what it'll take to get that S2 going.
Bob, drop me a line regarding SPLASH dealer support. swells@trevdeeley.com
Hope all you badwebers have a happy new year.
