Sure, we all would have come out if it is was colder, but I don't know that I would have ridden. It wasn't too bad yesterday at all (I just had my regular riding jacket on over a t-shirt and some thicker gloves, but that's it). What wasn't so fun was after the picture/tour, I rode over to meet Heather and the little guy at grandma and grandpa's to decorate cookies (actually, they decorated them, I just slapped on some frosting and ate them - I was promptly thrown out of the kitchen) and then rode home at about 9:00 (same gear, much colder result).

Anyway, let me be the first to post my reaction to the tour of the new building - HOLY CRAP!!! This place is going to be incredible! It's really cool to see Keith and everyone so excited to move in.

are one of you one of the bidders on this thing????? Or are you planning on sniping it at the last second. It's already way past my spontaneous budget allowance.

Mikej,
I know of one or two people who are seriously considering it, but don't worry about stepping on toes. This is an auction, plain and simple. The one who bids highest wins!
Good luck.

...and it doesn't have wheels, Bomber...(wink)

For $100 I would have grabbed it, for $650+ I'll pay tuition instead. ;)

Wasn't so much the procrastination ('though some would call that a science), it was delays in getting required data and finding the time to collect the data. Instead of an analysis it leaned more towards a regurgitation. At least it has lots of pages. And a nice fancy report cover too. ;) (Yeah, like that will gain any bonus points.)

Let's see, the two hours of sleep last night/this morning, if I sleep for 8 hours tonight I should end up with an average of 5 hours of sleep per night. By the end of the week I should average out to feeling better.

You know you're tired when coffee works about as well as mud puddle water, lot's of color, not enough octane.

Drop off the report tonight, then try to garner a referral letter of recommendation from the professor, then I'm done for the semester. Except for studying for the GRE, moving, and other stuff, oh and picking up a rack southward.

I think I'll stop now before I get kicked back into my own backyard.

'bout 18 miles east of where I live now, or more precisely about 10 miles east of where I'm sitting right now, or even more precisely about 4-6 blocks NNE from where we got our trophies last summer. ;) Got until the middle of February to complete the move but the bulk of it will get done between Dec.20th and Jan.19th.

I could give a similar to where I sit, map coords, but all I got with the new place is a number and street name. Boring. And I just got used to this N113 W18950 stuff too. But then the co. is probably moving after the first of the year from this building to a ghetto region about a dozen miles SSE where even the local major shopping mall is nearly closed down due to stores closing and moving out. If I can't park the bike out front I won't be riding to work much next spring or summer, 'cause if I do I'd be walking home fairly soon thereafter. Sucks, but what's a guy going to do? At least they have a nice HalfPriceBooks fairly nearby there.

MikeJ,

Let me know if you need any help moving, I have some recent experience in that department.:) And a ton of bubble wrap as well. I also have some recent experience in paper writing.;) I have a two wheel dolly as well with the big balloon tires. I am headed southward this weekend, so I could possibly pick up the "Big Unit" for you and at least get it half way to it's new home. It would keep it out of the way as well while you move.

Bomber- Will the "Big Unit" fit in a car? Keep in mind that I have fit a 7.5-8' x 36" door in said car in the not so distant past. I am willing to give it a try at least. Let me know what you think.

Jerry

Jerry,
that would be great. I think Bomber said it was broken down so I'm guessing it will fit. Check the BrewCity page for the dimensions.

I'm currently nursing a pulled back muscle of some sort that I don't know how I got it, but that never stopped me much before, which is probably how I pulled it, or else it's just a tight muscle-knot. My biggest headaches in moving will be the larger furniture pieces, the couch (not a hide-a-bed, honestly), and that big old heavy steel box in the closet. I managed to get the big steel box up the stairs with the door removed on my own, so taking it down the stairs should theoretically be easier, and if it gets away from me then I'll just declare that the building always had a double-door at the base of the stairs. :)

But hey, any help you want to offer won't be refused. But I'll feel bad in that I never got to help in your recent relocation adventure.

Reading another storm front here it might be well advised to bring an old sheet or newspapers to wrap the shelving in. :) :) :) :) :) Let me know when you're going and I'll try to send along a "care package" in the beverage of Joe Boomer's choice.

Hey, what are you doing for dinner tonight? I'll know my plans for the evening after 5pm or so. (414) 254-4005, I'll leave the phone on when I'm down that way. I'll be at UWM around 5:30 to drop off the project paper, then may head down to eat someplace in the general area down that way. I'll check back in here after a bit. I'm thinking I might visit the thrift shops on Greenfield around 76th sometime this week.

blastin . . . .what kinda car ya got?

broken down, the big unit is four shelves 37.5 X 23.75 with a 1 inch lip (they're sheet metal), and four legs 42 inches long by 1 inch by 1 inch ("L" shaped cross section

on the other hand, Mike, they can stay where they are for a while . . .what with your move and all, it may be easier to leave em where they are til after the holidays . . . .

Well, we'll play it by ear. If I get it before or during the move I can set it up in the garage and put it to immediate use for tools and parts since the old garage has a shelf and the new one doesn't.

MikeJ (gonna go check on that hovercraft just for grins and see where the bidding's at)
