man i am looking up all this stuff on the online maps and it looks like everything is spread way out? appleton, to elkhart lake, to east troy...

is it really going to be that hard to get from place to place? not that i'm not up for riding by anymeans, just curious about where exactly i might be staying and running back and forth from there in avery direction.

any ideas, good leads on a host hotel yet? just hoping to figure stuff out early enough i dont get left without a place to passout at night, lol

Then I suggest you take matters in your own hands as far as a place to stay. Not that the people that are trying to put this together aren't doing it fast enough, but I was looking LAST YEAR for Hotels, and a lot of places were booked already. Thanks to Dana P. we will be staying but a few miles from the track. Find something in the middle and go from there. Yes, it's a lot of riding, but the roads around the area are nice and most places you need to go have the option of either super-slabbing it or taking some nice semi twisty back roads. I'm hoping that if Daves has the Dinner at the Dealership, that I can make it. But, riding from East Troy to Appleton and then back to Elkhart makes for a long day. Plus I wanted to see some practice on Friday at the Track. But as I said, start looking NOW!!

Don't worry Rice we'll have something in stone for a place probably close to Dave in Appleton.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT...

Look at the commute to Wisconsin for Homecoming as a real treat compared to the Wisconsinite's (read: Cheeseheads) that travel to your respective parts of the country on vacation and/or for some Bike Event.

At least you are alone, riding your bike and picking the scenic routes. Most of them are stuck on the interstates in SUV's with a trailer and the family making their lives miserable on the road.

The inverse is there are quite a few Cheeseheads doing what you are planning and riding solo or in small groups just to get away from the pressure and enjoy their holiday.

Guys.. I will keep that in mind. Right now it is a tossup between homecoming and Myrtle Beach. I will keep in touch as it gets closer and we'll see what gives. It would be great to not ride that far alone!

Vegas I think Cataract said he may come. I'll bet as the time draws closer you may see others from your area surface to be there.

ANYONE CAMPING?

TENT CAMPING @ Road America
Tent camping is available in a Family Area and an Alternate Area. A
maximum of six (6) people are allowed per site. Everyone staying on the
grounds must possess a weekend ticket. Bathroom and shower facilities are
available in the Carousel for all campers to use.
The Family Area is located inside the Carousel, turns 8 and 9. Spaces are
assigned in advance and are approximately 20’ x 40’ in size. Family area
sites need at least one adult per site.
The Alternate Area is located
inside the track near turn 2.
Campers must be 18 or older.
Spaces are first-come, first-serve.

$75 per campsite with a maximum of 6 people per site= VERY FREAKIN' CHEAP!

Well? What's going on? Any information yet? Did the XBRR take all the wind out of everyones sail?
What better place to see the new bike than in it's home state?! Not to mention I won't be at Daytona, so I'll have to see that on T.V.

Camping at Road America for the June Superbike races has gotten really interesting. Mostly due to the private campground across the street shutting down. They were always known as Soddom and Gamorah...and did they live up to it. A bunch of 20 somethings going wild on a race weekend, and was it cheap. Now most of those people are inside Road America camping...but it's tamer. We've been camping there for about 4 years. I'll be there again, just up from the Carousel just down the hill between T7 & T8. I'd be happy to share some shade/campfire with whomever rides on in. We usually split the Camping pass costs...ends up being like $5-10/person. Check out www.roadamerica.com for the details and to buy camping/tickets.

UPDATE!!!!!!

Host hotel will be the Country Inn & Suites in Appleton. They are offer the following rooms and rates:

2 Queen Beds: $83
King Suite (king bed with sleeper sofa): $93

The hotel is located about 2 miles from Dave's dealership. It's also in the the heart of Appleton's shopping district. That means tons of restaurants and bars. Oh yeah...and for Spidey...there's a nudie bar less than 1 mile away: D.

To make reservations, you need to contact the hotel directly. The phone number is 920-830-3240. To get the rate, as for the Buell Homecoming rooms.

I'll be contacting Blake to post this information as a permenant header on this page.

Lastly....there are dinner arrangements in the works. There may be something on both Friday and Saturday. More info to follow.

Like Dana said earlier....this WILL be a great time!

Anyone interested in hitting Reg Pridmore's CLASS school with me Mon/Tues at RA?

I'm not sure if I'll get up there Fri or Sat morning, but I hope to see all the races. With any luck the RS will be road-worthy this time.

I'll hit Road America and Barber this year with CLASS and join the Force5 club to make it a better deal (slightly cheaper, plus a set of tires, brake pads, jacket and Tshirt!)

I've unfortunatly given up on Daytona to do it.

Did you hear about the Buell track days at Autobahn/Joliet?

Sign up Mon and Tues to get a break on the $$. Ok, not much of one but what the hell.

If multiple people sign up as a group you get discounts.

This is from a warmup lap last year video
I followed him after he passed, but he didn't switch to the rear camera.

I usually stay at the Plymouth Inn (CLASS HQ)

We are working with Dave to get something going Friday evening at his dealership. Then Saturday a dinner possibly. The thought does cross are minds that some may want to hit the Elkhart Lake area resort spot just a mile from the track that many of the race teams stay and many going on's outside the Court Yards of the three Hotels that are next door to one another....Very Awesome and Tons of Bikes!!!Some feed back from you BadWebbers would be great.

Ok this is awesome. I just got off the phone with Brain Nallin of Revolution Performance about maybe a group breaking away Saturday for a tour of his plant... all 25,000 sq.ft. of it. Everything from the dyno,powdercoating,etc,etc,etc,. You get the picture. Brain will be are host and I just need to nail down a time with him. Revolution is within 15 minutes of Road America so we can break away from the races for an hour or so and see what they do soooo well and Meet the man that makes these bike do what we dream about. Can't pass this up. Stay tuned... like I said we'll make this very memorable!!!}}
