Bill,

Look Here. It took me a couple of hours to figure out all the pieces I wanted for a system beyond the basic kit.

Loren,

I use the Kenwood 3100 GMRS. It's commercial grade and people can work on it if something goes wrong. Also, I have the adaptor that allows the bike to power the radio, so I don't have to worry about recharging batteries.

Autocom is the best. You won't be disappointed. Two way comm is great. MP3 soundtrack when carving up twisties is even better. Cue up The White Stripes and ride!

I have 39,650 miles currently showing, so I have about 12,600 for the year. Six more weeks and I should have about about 20k for the year (kidding).

Dusty, dont EVER feel like you have to keep up with a group if we are out riding the twisties.Everyone is alway encouraged to ride a his own pace or, as he or she wants to.We will always wait until everybody is grouped back togeather, before turning another direction.Im usually the guy who is riding at the back, its a great place to be to WATCH things happen sometimes, and if need be stop and help pick up the peices. When we ride at Homecoming a couple ride their Blasts, and someone will always hang back with them,we never leave someone behind.Dusty, and anyone else, feel free to come to the Brag meetings and just hang out,we are going to have food at the next meeting, you guys ALL like to eat so.........come and chow down.

Charles, I'm looking forward to being "wired" so to speak. I'll have to see how the cheaper Motorola radio works out.

I'm pushing 17K miles on the bike, so that will put me at 13780 miles for the year to date. Looks like I better ride out to the west coast and back this weekend to just stack the deck a little more. LOL

Talking about mileage, we need to think of some Road trips for next year.

First on my list is Home Coming (1200 or so miles round trip)

I would like to go Here
http://www.barbermuseum.org/

It's 800 miles and that's the short way down the interstates. But going the LONG way through Arkansas would really increase the miles, but would be so much FUN! I'm thinking two days getting there, doing about 500 miles per day. A day there, then it's only 250 miles to Deal's Gap! Half a day to get to Deal's Gap. Spend Three nights there, then head home on the interstates about 800 miles in one day. We would be traveling home on the 7th day.

See what BRAG comes up with for events too.

Anyone else have any idea????

Charles...

You make me jealous !!!

All is well and that was a great day to ride!!

You had your bags and all I could think of was that the two of you were heading for Arkansas.

I do have my S3 back on the road... I had my shock go bad... I never realized how marginal the factory shock was until I got my WORKS shock!!

It's amazing the difference it made!!

: )

Richie, I talked with Chris and he filled me in on dinner plans. I will be there and bring something to add to the table.

That's more like plunking!

24 degrees this morning and I'm still riding!

Loren, are there any local Gerbing dealers?

I hate buying gloves and other items that need to fit right, on the Internet. Plus Gerbing is out of stock on gloves until next year.

For me to ride any more this winter, I need electric glove liners or gloves. Maybe the jacket liner and pants liner, too, but first the gloves! Handguards only help so much.... Right now I have to use my snowboarding liners inside my winter riding gloves, and still it gets too cold when below 35-37......

Bill, Engles is a Gerbing dealer. The H-D jacket and pant liners are made by Gerbing too.
