Soda and such I think can be worked out if it is on a donation only type thing. I think that is oe loophole if I remember my business law class.Or if it goes to our not for profit brag group.

The Open House today was a real good time(food, band, friends etc), and i'm happy to announce that our Chapter brother Brent won a trophy in the bike show today... Congrats!
The dealer is interested on the Battletrax, and I too would love to assist anyway I can to make this event happen...We will post more info as it becomes available.

well the battle trax is some time off, i doubt it would happen this year plus, there needs to be some talks with the WI dealers, to unite the campionship series, ie instead of a southern WI camp, maybe a WI.IL camp or something along those lines, they did start the whole battle trax in the area so no sence in upseting them, we should reall think about next year, and just adding and event, to an already great series, also we need to discuss when the events are heald(this year it was every weekend which makes it a little hard on some of us, it needs to be spread out a bit)
but again it some thing to work toward next year, along with a list of parts that would need to be brought out as spares to be sold to riders like myself who need a closer look at the pavment, another thing to work out, again some interesting winter planing this year
later

We are a registered Non-profit 503c corporation. I did the work back in 2000 or 2001 at Lincoln Square Accounting (Mr Vince Lopez) and the $50 it cost the chapter to file with the state of IL was itemized on our budget.

Looks like were all set, maybe we could have some fun and make the chapter a little cash while were at it, one thing off the list, on to the next

Bomber your citizenship is answered by what team you root for on Sundays.
Just put the word fudge in front of the team you root for and there is your answer.

Some info on the WI BattleTrax series...
From what limited knowledge I have, this was started on the dealer level. The Milwaukee area dealers are a fairly close knit group. They host a number of events that utilize all the dealerships. The WI BattleTrax was other idea to get people visiting each dealer. I'm not sure how tight the IL dealers are as a group. Hell, most of them Woodstock only sell Buells to get more Harleys.

We sold sodas, bottled water, chips & candy bars at the Hal's event this year. It was a "donation" to our chapter. The sodas didn't move very well. We sold out of bottled water. All in all, we learned some things (like bikers don't eat chips).

I dont think Jerry sold any chips at all. In fact most of the dry goods just sat there. It was so damn hot tho.

Also I dont think the average Buell rider likes to be associated with the word "biker". It conjures up images of some greasy assed Hells Angels assipe.:)

Dyna, Good point on the greasy assed....
Also, are you going to the Slimey Crud Run? I've started a thread to get some input from Milwaukee/Chicago area riders.

Kevin, Are you sure you filed for 503(c) status? I thought it was 501(c)(7) status (Tax exempt Social Club). I'm in the process of handling this for Brew City. I'd hate to get all this work done and find I've filed for the wrong shit.

Mennis where is the thread??point me in the right
direction if you could also, there was some chatter from Dyna that buell wanted to expand the series into Il, and from the last brag meeting our dealer seems to be very interested in the idea, he just dosnt have the room in his lot so i came up with an alternative, and i would think, that since the majority of the people that atended every event were from illinois(FBI), that they wouldnt mind a little expantion, i mean there are a limited amount of dealers and the series was set up odd as far as dated are concerned, if it came down to it and they wanted to make a seperate il series, i doubt it would happen due to dealer attitude, or Il harley would have to put on every event

Chi,

I'm not saying you did the job incorrectly. I'm just double checking for my own filings. I was told we needed to be a 501(c)(7) status. If I'm getting the incorrect info, I want to know now, before everything is filed. By no means am I saying you didn't do the correct paperwork.

Believe me, I know how much of a pain in the ass it is to get this done. I'm working on the filing now and it's a mountain of paperwork!!!!

Hey I "heard" my name being tossed around in here.

Yes, chips and candy in my limited experience
DO NOT sell at a "Biker" or "Bueller" event. Water, root beer, cola, orange, etc sell very well. If the temp is above 90F then water will be your best seller. Unless you have hot food or know something more about the crowd your selling to, I would not recomend selling snacks. Just liquid refreshment.

Speaking of which anybody want to by some unopened cases of M+M's, Skittles, or Snickers?:)

Jerry a.k.a "Banana Boy", "Banana Split", or "Banana Flip"
