LOL Thanks, Frank. Synthetic oil is just fine for your bike. HD offered SYN3 to be run in the primary, chaincase and as 20w50 oil. They have now added Formula+ for the primary/transmission. Its a synthetic blend just for those 2 cavities.

What is everyone's take on the 03' Belt Guards.

I am thinking of removing all the plastic guards to clean up the rear end. I love the look of the open belt but am a little hesitant to increase my chances of some debris damaging the belt. I know in Fran_dog's case, his guards actually caused a screw to get trapped in it and put several holes in the belt.

Should I take them off?

Only if you go with the 04 belt system IMHO.
Minitrucker's belt didn't last long at all without the guard.
If you go with the 04 belt pulleys, you can get the lifetime belt.

You know what I think.... Glitch is probably right though. Worst case, paint them with the frame color and they will be less noticeable. When you are ready then do the switch.

Yeh...I figured as much}. Probably an upgrade I'm not gonna do.

Paint them the same color as the frame

}I'll have to disagree with ya on that one, Drift.}

Ha, just a thought. You could make them smaller... more like the 05's. I wonder if the 05's would fit. Hmmm... I still have mine and will not be putting them back on. If you want to check it out you are welcome.

For a mere $400...

B_S: How about designing an acceptable belt guard (form and function). I know it wouldn't be a small task, to say the least, but you know you have to continue with the mods. And of course it would be made of CF. You have probable already thought about this, haven't you?

I should be able to make it to the dealership by about 6:30 tonight.

Fran_dog....I have indeed. The 03' guards are quite elaborate (as you know) and nearly impossible to for myself to replicate in CF (too tight of a turn).

However...Drift...I would be interested in having a go with your old guards. You gonna make the meeting tonight? You could bring them with you...hint, hint

Well, how's everyone doing this beautiful afternoon. Good I hope. I just want to let everyone know that ya'll are my bestest buddies.

.....That's me (B_S) trying to stay calm and collected.......

I went for a little lunch time ride today since it was so nice out and all. I noticed something odd and I came to the painful conclusion that apparently you DO get what you paid for!! Seems that the so called "High Temp" powder coating has decided not to coat anymore. Right at the front cylinder it has bubbled and chipped off in a small spot as well as bubbled at the 1st bend but not yet flaked off. Mind you I have only riden TWICE for 1hr at a time! Can't wait to see how bad it gets when I really get her hot......Speaking of hot, I cannot begin to express how LIVID I am at the moment.

If any of you are considering powdercoating your header...think twice and Ceramic Coat them!!! I won't make that mistake again. I should of just stuck with my original plan!

B_S: You're not back at square1. Think of it as practice. And just think of all the fun we'll have on the true mod day with a ceramic coated header swap without all the drilling. I feel your pain, but it will pass, and you know you'll have the Formula Buell Pit Crew behind you.

Thanks S_B for calling and helping Shelley get to the hospital. The Doc' showed what a pro he was. He reset and put my shoulder back in the socket faster than any doctor I ever seen. The knee was dislocated as well. Looks like I might have to get that op' sooner than I thought. That first gear is a killer. I didn't get a ticket, and thanks for sticking around guys, but I just wanted everyone to leave so they wouldn't get us for racing. Which I might add " We weren't"
