Man HAte to see anybody take a tumble. Glad to hear Jack and Sam are toughing it out, the fun has only begun. Gods speed in healing...

Will, you may want to get a can of fix a flat since a totally punked tire is hard to blow up even with a plug unless you have a air tank or compressor handy. The tire should be fine sitting on the rim long as your not sitting on it. I have a 25 gallon portable compresser if you need it. I'll ping you my work number.

This is along4theride
Sam is doing OK the Morphine is making her sick but she's in good spirits.

And it was the Left turn after the 'low' bridge on Ponce they didn't make.

We have determined that they low sided in the corner and they both hit stationary objects- The signs with the arrows indicating a corner.
Sam hit it with her right thigh- Breaking her R- Femar clean in half
Jack took it hard to the torso/head area. HE was unconcious for a bit but came too before the ambulance arrived.

I haven't talked to Vicki this Morning so I'm not sure how Jack is feeling, he was in A LOT of pain last night. He broke his L shoulder and I think there is an issue with a vertebre in his neck, but I'm not clear on that- NO PARALYSIS-as far as I know.

I don't ever want to watch good freinds come off a bike EVER again as long as I live. I have determined that what I experienced last night would have to the worst so far in my 33 years.

RIDE SAFE
We have been down that road a million times it was a corner I never would have expected anyone to have a problem with. I guess it just goes to show...
God Bless!!!!

Oh Glitch- I guess I should add that Jack was on the Road King and his left floor board? hit and raised the tire causing them to low side. They both came off the bike and got away from it but then they had the signs to deal with- The stationary objects are what caused the injuries.
He WASN'T going fast either!!!
So please don't anyone think that Jack was going too fast- he wasn't!!!
We think he must have hit a water drain thing in the road, at least that is what was speculated at the hospital last night.

B_S: You can get the kit directly from Stop N Go at: http://www.stopngo.com/plugger.htm

I got the "Pocket Plugger" kit, which easily fits in a riding jacket pocket or a tank bag. They have a bigger version that may be a little easier to use, but it takes up a lot more room. You still have to have something to pump the tire up (CO2 cartridges or pump), which they also sell.

I feel a lot better about riding ~700 mile trips since I got this.

BTW, glad to hear the injured 3%'ers are doing (relatively) OK. Hang in there.

Glad to hear it New12r.
Keep us posted.

B_S's tire is beyond repair. It's more of a cut. The nail was so long it did more damage that we thought. Good thing it only had about one mountain run left in it. I'm goin' after I get off work and pick up B_S and his pony.

Now on with the weekend. I'll be gone for the most part, so ya'll take care, ride safe, and leave the drama for the theater.

I'm glad to hear you both are not too seriously hurt. Heal quickly. It sounds like you both have lots of support around you to help you do just that.
Yet another reminder that protection really works. People at work always ask me "Why do you wear that jacket (JR mesh with armor) in this 115 degree heat index weather?" I tell them that I'm scared of skin grafts the rest of my life and they sort of just go ...."uh, oh"..... Tards......

hey guys. just came back from the hospital visiting jack and braveangel. B_A is all drugged up and feelin' good for now. She seems to be in good spirits. They are definatly doing surgury this evening.
Jack is in a lot of pain. According to Vickie his shoulder is not broken, but it is giving him severe pain. If anyone knows jack, he doesn't usually admit to pain and drugs do NOTHING. So the fact that he's obviously in pain and drugs don't have any effect on him, well-just keep him in your prayers. Both of them. We'll keep you updated as much as possible!

After I got home from the hospital, I went to bed about 1am and woke up about 4:50am was on 85 south at 5:10 on my way to Bremen,Ga. about 6 miles from the Ala. state line. Stopped by the hospital to check up on Jack and Sam around 3:30pm on the way home. She's such a tuff chick. I'm wooped! They were talking about doing the op' on sam around 6ish' Jack was JACK. He's in a lot of pain and in and out. He's getting a MRI done tonight or sat. morning to try to get a better look at the fracture on his #3 vert. and any other damage that was done. I'm wooped!

Sam is out of surgery but she's still in recovery.

Apparently they found a small fracture in the lower part of her leg and they took X-rays right before surgery of some fingers that are giving her problems.

I saw Jack but he was sleeping, which is a good thing considering how much pain he's in when he's awake. They haven't told Vicki anything new all day, they just keep doing tests.

It is New12R here.

Thanks for all the prayers and kind words, offers for help and so on, I have stated it before and will proclaim it to be,THIS IS THE BEST GROUP OF PEOPLE ANYONE COULD ASK TO BE INVOLVED WITH!!!! Thank you again for everything.

I got a lunch break today so I thought I would give updates.

B_A, Has a repaired femur, a small fracture in her fibula, doc says it is not load bearing and should heal on it own, fingers are ok, just bruised from the tumble. She is going to start physical therapy today but I don't know what time, we should have her home on Tuesday.

Jack had surgery last night on his neck, doc found two pieces of vert. that had broken off and used some screws to fix the crack. He was doing really great this morning, when I got to the room to check on him they were standing him up and making him walk, he came all the way down to B_A's room to see her this morning, don't get me wrong he is still in pain but at least he is getting around.

Thanks AFTR for the update. Kdan just woke up and asked if I had read any more news.

How quickly our lives can be turned upside down, huh. So sorry they are still in pain but so glad they are still around to feel it if you know what I mean. Told some of our other "biker boyz" about it and they said they would be shooting out a prayer as well.

Bambi- You were on my mind quite often today as I rode my Blast in the mtns :}
Yeah Sam is one tough cookie and this will make her that much tougher.

They got Jack on his feet today and asked him how far he thought he could walk. He replied "Where's Sam?"
They told him her room was a ways away but he didn't hesitate he said "Let's go" and they did. He impressed everyone with his improvement since surgery.
Charlie said that they figured out where he hit the pole, on his side above his kidney. Apparently there is a VERY large Black bruise.
God was watching out for both of them!!!

We had a good ride today!!!
I'd like to thank Buell666 for keeping such an close eye out for me since I was soooo far behind at times on my 'little' bike. You're a good friend no matter what anyone might say ;}

TBS Stunta- sorry we lost ya, after the guys got their awards we went back down 60 to 180 so we could get some food at Turner's Corner. I'll get in touch with you in the AM about biz.

The Pony has new shoes and is up and rolling. Took a ride to scrub them in. New tires feel sooooogood. I barely got my rear axel out. I has read many threads telling of rear axel woes and breakage. I was sweating it hoping it wouldn't seize up.

D_B(Domestic_Bullet)...Me and Chris had a great time at the B-day party. Scarlet is so cute. She will be 21 before you know it. I wish I had a pic of you holding that baby doll by the head and a knife in the other, cutting her out of the box.

Glitch....Chris said the you had the cutest family.
