Keith , Bill Cobb will be coming down with two others Saturday, they should arrive around 5pm I believe. Rich and I should be to the hotel around 8pm.

I've only met Paul once, my first impression is that he is the shy and inocent one of the bunch.

We are really looking forward to this trip!! Just put new running shoes on Bills bike this evening and he has this "Nailinize beast" dialed.

Neil and Mark (S1W or S2) are heading out from EVV and supposed to come by my place about 9:30. After a break to stretch and check out my S1W, I'd reckon it'd put us at the Eureka QT about 1045-1100.

DAve,
BE CAREFUL who you let look at your "white lightning". Last time I ask a gal if she wanted to see my "thunderbolt", she slaped me! Ofcourse after I explaind that it was a "BIG bore", she was all smiles! That was until I ask her if I could park it in the rear. She got real upset until I further explaind that I had just lubed it and promised that it would not "drip" cause I had put new gaskets in recently. I then gave her a ride on the "Beast". She has had a smile on her face ever since. The last girl before her who smiled that much had rode my "hardtail". That thing dripped everytime I used it.

Roger that BOb... Eureka QT at 1600Z (11 am EUreka Standard Time)

Got my new Dunlop 220 on and I'm second guessin' myself about the belt deflection. Off to the "belt deflection discussion" to see wazzup. (The Dunlop 220 seems to be a bit lower profile than the OEM)

Leaky cycle?! Riding a Harley or old Trumpet?

Well I can't believe it that I'm the first one to post about the Missouri "OZ" Thunder weekend (that's not OZ as in Wizard but as in Ozarks). There were 13 (such an appropriate number) of Buelligans that invaded S.W. MO. Thank you Bob and John for leading us on some GREAT roads!
Breakfast
We only had three little mechanical bugs: A broken "custom" carb bracket [fixed] (on an AWESOME Nallin engine), a flat tire on a Firebolt [fixed] and a loose Mikuni screw [fixed].

I better qualify that last one, we always wondered about V2win having a loose screw , now we know just which one it was. His Mikuni decided to all of sudden not lift it's slide. So in mid-apex V2win had nothing but idle. Some roadside investigation at some very freindly Missourians driveway discovered that the screw that ties the shaft that lifts the slide had come loose (This fortunatly was real Shadetree tree mechanics at it's best (in 97+ degree heat and 80%+ humidity the shade was a God send!).

So now we know that V2win has one less loose screw than before and no oil leaks, finally.

So all you KC, IL, MO, and IN Buelligans, it was great meeting you and riding with you. Can't wait for the next time, hopefully it will be cooler.

Ride More, Lean More, Grin More.

Neil S.
p.s. don't belive what John or Bob say about a little slab of ribs I ate for lunch yesterday (they were great tasting, but less filling

Hey guys, you should have rode back with Bob and I. The best roads of the trip were waiting for us and we arrived at Shady Jack's just in time to watch a wet T-shirt contest. It was kind of tame. All they did was take off their shirt and rub their nipples while dancing to some music. No beaver, girl-girl or noth'n. Missouri..too conservitive.
When I arrived at the house my wife informs me that my truck (90 454SS) had broken down on I44 and 141 yesterday. She left it there! I had to retreive it. Just got back. I think it may be a broken timing chain. Too tired tonight to worry about it. Looks like it may be time to drop in that 454 I have on an engine stand in the garage.
Neil, if you will email me an address, I will send you that shield I told you about.
Later

4 mechanicals. Don't forget about V2WIN scattering his Exhaust Shield down the road. Minor deal. The bad part was it interrupted the lesson in smooth riding I was receiving. How does a guy drive Ozark roads at a steady 80 with one hand resting on his thigh?

It was a great day. The thunder rolled in the Ozarks. Hurry up and post more pics.

Great Weekend. Great seeing that many Buells in one place! 13! not a real common occurence in this area!

Quotes from this weekend....

"what kind of Bike is that?" Oh its a Harley! (Bet he wasn't used to that kind of a question about his ride!) especially coming from a bunch of hooligans on Buells!

"whose Vrod is that out there laying on its side???" owner starts laughing and presents Bob with the "dickhead of the day award"
(note ---- the vrod was purchased the day before as was obvious by the date on his temporary tags making the guys reaction all the more fun). Owner of the vrod walks out a while later and comes back in asking "Who is the owner of those Buells laying on thier side?" (touch'e)

"John, you know they make this stuff called loctite." John didn't seem to see the humor in this one! Just thought it was an obvious statement to make after having a heat shield fly off and a screw coming loose in his carb!

knock, knock, knock......
"are you guys ready for breakfast yet? I thought we were going at at 8am?" "ummmm, Keith its just a few minutes after 7!" (at which time my jaw hits the ground!!!!!) note to self, blurry eyes and watches don't mix ---- get a wakeup call next time dummy! "timekeeper Keith" Dave, Thanks for pointing out my mental capabilities prior to a couple cups of coffee each morning!

during V2Wins carb incident.....
Dave --- "Do you guys have kids?""
Farmer's wife gives Dave this wierd look.... like what type of sociopath are you?
Dave ---- "I have these Buell stickers for you to give to them"
right intention, wrong approach!

I know I am missing a few and that all you guys will chip in and add to this adventure!!!!!

All in All, I think, a great time was had by all attending!! There were a few minor difficulties, but the experience of several of the guys attending made those little mishaps seem much more minor than they could have!

Did anyone else notice that V2Win's incidents occurred on the same stretch of pavement? John, I think I'd take that road off my list! bad mojo!!!

John and Bob, thanks for touring us through some of missouri's great roads! the two of you always seem to make our rides very enjoyable!

Tripper, everytime we follow Bob or John we get an education in smooth riding!!! obviously I didn't review those notes before setting off for the ride Sunday!

An Annual event?

I think we need to take a few more opportunites to hook up with the guys from KC and IND!!!!! what a great group of people!

Great meeting everyone!!!!!
Keith

Dave,
Ya, she is going to model it for a photo session on the back of my Buell!!! You know how much she loves being on the back of it!! lol maybe i should put it on my profile page? nobody wants to see my ugly mug anyway! has anyone else noticed that the price of a swimsuit goes up as the amount of cloth goes down???? good thing Pauls buddy Joe knew the guy that owned the swimsuit shop or this could have been a VERY VERY expensive venture!

John, I think she collected enough of those on Saturday!!! But I'll let her reply to that this evening when she gets off work!

Paul, thanks for all the hospitality!!! You and your friends really made Heathers trip enjoyable!! I on the other hand, with my mixed up watch reading abilitie!!!!
