We plan to ride to dinner @ Japan 77 in Bloomingdale tomorrow....I'm trying to confirm with Don that he booked reservations, and confirm the time... i've lft msg's for him, and did not get a confirmation....if we don't here from him by tomorrow, we will just call and book reservations.
We will try to make the Party Saturday @ Brad & Andi's house. For those going on the midnight ride...tell the Chapter members what it's about?
Take Care
Ray

FYI.....the Midnight Tour is a charity/fun run that typically draws 3000-5000 riders. Preliminary staging, music, vendors, shows, food, etc. occurs 5:00 - 10:30PM. Riders typically depart around 11:30PM, destination reached around 1:30AM and festivities continue till you leave. This years route will be through Chicago, which is something they haven't run for over 10 years. It's most enjoyable on a nice summer night to run through Chicago (traffic blocked by Police) with thousands of other riders. Sounds like a fucking mess, but really is fun.

See http://www.midnighttour.com/tour.html for details.

Midnight Run -

Last year, we met at some chruch parking lot and hammered down I-90 going west. I got off at rt47 and went home.

Lots o bikes. Kind of cool because they block off the traffic, you get the right lane on the tollway to yourselves, and the tolls are paid for (by the charity NOT the tollway).

On the other hand, it costs $10 for what I don't know, and you hammer down the tollway with a bunch of squids doing 60 mile an hour wheelies with their gilrfriends on the back.

I'll pass this year, maybe go out on Sunday instead.

Hey guys just read the following post over in the "Crashes and Mishaps" section.

Well, never thought I would be "lucky" enough to post in this section, but..... I was 17 miles N of Key West on US 1, heading for Chicago, first day of leave, first leave in a year. My S3 was safely tucked away in an enclosed trailer. A southbound car crossed the northbound lane and was driving along the shoulder doing a rolling mapcheck while driving on the wrong side of the road. I noticed the bonehead wasn't paying attention and slowed. Right before I reached the spot, the bonehead punched it to cross back over. She was looking north, never even looked south, but she was completely perpendicular to the road. PSYCHO! I made it around her with my van by an inch or two, but she T-boned my trailer. The trailer was knocked completely sideways, ripped the fender off and nearly tore the right wheel off. I pulled to the shoulder, checked the family, they were all fine. Ms Boneheads rental was wasted, the front end was lying in the road. She was a visiting German so I welcomed her to our country in a few well chosen words. I moved to Key West from Germany last year, what a coincidence. Anyhow, my S3 took some damage. The bike was struck on the right side, took an impact to the pipe and air cleaner. Lost a turn signal, scratched the cases. Now, it won't idle. I've been trying to adjust the Mikuni to get it to idle, but it doesn't seem to respond.
Anyhow, I plan to have the damage assessed by a proffessional while I'm on leave. Any suggestions? I'm up in Chicago now, had to buy a new trailer. Can't ride my S3, came up here to do just that, this, is no vacation!!!!

I suggested calling Illinois H-D/Buell. I know being that Windy City Brag is a bunch of really good guys and can help point Madstuck in the right direction.

Bomber,

As a fellow flatlander(transplanted in 1993), don't feel too threatened. Just show them that you can make a decision while driving and then flash some cash and you'll be fine.:):)

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the last Battletrax. I'll be PEDALING 150 miles up the shore of Lake Michigan that weekend.
