Too cool. Gotta love Glacier! I have a couple of inspections out Kalispell way in the next month or so. Guess I'll have to go through the park. Did they get all the roads fixed from the avalanches?

Rek, theres still a couple of roads being repaired but it isn't bad at all.. When your in Kalispell keep your eye out for a red headed David Mann looking biker on an old knuckle head.. His name is Red and he is one heeluva guy if you can get the opportunity to meet him...Sorry we didn't get the chance to hook up but there will be another Glacier trip in the future..

larry, Tim & JJ

Looks like you made it back safely!!

I've been forced to miss my Montana leg of the trip. The S3 is in Salt Lake waiting for a throttle body, should be in Tuesday. We made it to Portland OR with a rental... I rented a Road Glide..POS!!(this was the only bike available) It is the worst bike I have ever ridden!! So I will be back in Salt Lake on Thursday to pickup the TBolt and we will proceed to Yellowstone to continue the ride.

I'm sure you have some great pictures and stories to share... I hope my second phase of the trip is better that the first!!

Jeff

Good luck Jeff. When you guys come from yellowstone you should ride HW 14 or 16. 16 is great except for the 40 mile stretch of desert on the west side of the mountains. Other than that 16 is cool. They say HWY 14 is prettier but could have ice on it at anytime do to the elevation and steep ascent and descent. Have fun and see ya when you get home.

Jeff I would try for Glacier over Yellowstone if you have to chose one. Yellowstone roads suck, they ate up Larry's rear tire, and about sent me over a 500 foot cliff. Glaicer is by far more scenic and the roads are way better, plus it is closer to Oregon.

Yellowstone just wasn't that great.

Be sure to post if you are interested. So far there are three of us.

Cassoday is a small town just off I-35 before you get to Wichita.

sorry I don't really feel like blowing out a tire on the way down...maybe next time. by the way, the trip next week is gonna depend on whether I get my tires in or not. they're coming from minnesota, so it should only take a couple days hopefully...i'll probably talk to ya this weekend. in the meantime i'll bring over some rubber joint sealant..

Well, we managed to get the ride in today, but we didn't go to Cassoday. After looking at the radar we deciding to go south of KC instead of down by Wichita, which was where the rain was. We didn't get a drop of rain!

Thanks for showing up Paul, Jason and John! You guys really know how to keep those things "pinned"!

Yup. We didn't get there, either.
We hit rain and wind outside Oskaloosa so we went around Perry lake, and Topeka, etc to the West.

I need to get some saddlebags to carry my waterproof liners.

Man, I was in Topeka today playing in a golf tournament and I saw 3 buells in about 10 minutes about halfway through the day...I could ride all day through KC and not see any buells! I thought it was interesting. Of course if you sit in one spot long enough you'll see about everything...There was a LOT of bikes riding around Shawnee Lake in Topeka today. I would suggest taking a ride there sometime for a relaxing local ride anyways. I would think you could find a backroad leading out to Topeka rather than take the I-70 toll road (it's only $.85 from Lawrence to Topeka anyways) for a nice ride sometime...

Take Highway 40. Or, if you are at Lake Shawnee, just head straight East on 45th Street. Just before you get to Lawrence, hang a right and do a lap of Clinton Lake...then head north to Perry Lake....the West to the Dam Road at Tuttle Creek.

: )

Hey Drake

Me and Susie scared Christen yesterday at a stop light. We pulled up next to her and I said, "HEY THAT DRAKES WIFE,CHRISTEN." So we rolled down the window and honked the horn. When she figured out who I was then she was like Hello. After she said I was wondering who was honking at me. Anyway funny take care bro. Susie and I also put about 50 miles on the bike yesterday cruising around.

On June 23rd we were ending the days ride east of Green River Wyoming, when I noticed that my throttle was acting up... engine started to surge.

The next morning after the rain had passed I opened up the air cleaner to investigate and the shaft that the butterfly screws to was broken and I removed the loose screw so the engine would not digest it. I actually rode it another 100 miles and almost made it to Salt Lake City...

I had the rider support list from the badweb and call David Bryd in Salt Lake to get advise on dealers etc... He informed to take it to the South Valley store in Sandie UT and have Pete work on it... Buell dealer and top notch Buell Tech!!

It was to late in the day for the order to get out overnight for Saturday, so the only rental they had was the Road Glide.... to I rented it to complete the ride to Portland OR and then we returned back to SLC on June 30th to get the Buell.

It was the best vacation I have ever taken... even with the minor breakdown!! Wyoming is a great place to ride!! Idaho was also very nice!!

I cannot see why people ride I-90 to Sturgis, that is the worst highway I have ridden for sometime. Next time leaving the Black Hill I will head south to Neb. and then down into Kansas.

When we left we took 2 lanes in Kansas and roads were top notch and we able to run 70-80 most of the time. Need a radar detector though...

I will post more pictures soon!!!

Drake, John, Jason,

Thanks for the Sunday Ride, turned out to be dry after all!!

Hey Jeff, glad your home safe, I was a little worried when you posted you were riding that huge gutless PIG "oink" hehe.

Look forward to some more Sunday rides guys, try to keep it under 90 for ya this time Drake!

That Idea of riding to the resivors is a great Idea.
