S1Hooliman, what's the prognosis? Primary problem or transmission. Inquiring minds want to know. Splash is 7 weeks hence.
Nice day at McMinnville today with the YSR racers practising. Lot of pocketbikes there too. Tomorrow is race day.

The S1 is not going to make it to Splash this year I fear, the entire front sprocket actually moves when you pull in the clutch?? Anton just shock his head and said, DAMN!! I am no expert but I think that is a bad sign. I dont have the money after all I have spent on the bike already this year and also with buying Tracies bike, (we named it Mig, it is short for midget)to be able to just have them start into it now.

Branden, don't despair as the early Buells had sprocket problems. The spline area on early fronts was very thin and would wear out without the nut even loosening.Found mine right before it went away because another friend had his fail and warned me.The later bikes came with upgraded sprocket with about 2X the spline area.Take off sprocket and look at splines, remember left handed threads---that's my guess.

Even with aftermarket conversion? My bike has a chain conversion kit.

Did not know that, but still suspect.Even if it is the output bearing it takes less than an hour to tear down to get to it and replacement has been gone over extensively in the knowledge vault.

Firemanjim, that was Bob's diagnosis too. Said chain conversion did not matter. Course Bob also has a spare 6 speed tranny in his garage from the RoadRashWreck too if push comes to shove or tranny.

Great weekend of YSR racing at McMinnville. Cody looks better every time we see him. He has such a presence on track that you just trust him to do the right thing. Cody's mom, Kimberlie kicked butt in the lady's race and Debbie took second. A real nice confidence builder for both of them.

Bob, remember, Deb needs your coaching the next couple week to get FARTHER off the bike and DEEPER into the corners before shifting.
So drill it into her Bob. Farther...deeper...farther...deeper...farther...deeper...farther, etc. Probably gonna have to go to twice a day drills.

Happy Memorial Day Ya'll! I hope each and every one of us had a great weekend.

I suppose that being hurt in a motorcycle accident doesn't really count as service to country but I still can't help but think especially hard this weekend about Duane, Brandon and each of us that have suffered injuries and/or pain while riding (or falling off of) a motorcycle in the past year. I don't mean to dis' the Vet's in any way on this holiday reserved to honor our parents, grandparents, sons and daughters that have served in the armed forces and have suffered more than they should while defending the good ol' U.S of A. and our way of life. After all, they are the ones that insure we all have the privilege of making our own decisions as to how we will live our lives and in what ways we will find pleasure.

None the less, each of us that participates in a dangerous sport or lives our life in "alternative" sort of way is living, breathing proof that a representive form of government works. It works better, WAY better, than whatever-the-hell-else-you-got-on-your-mind-so-just-get-over-it form of government. God bless the USA.

I celebrated my Memorial Day Weekend by mowing the lawn and trimming the laurel hedge:

Utah looked much like Oregon today: it was cloudy when I woke up; = poured when I decided to ride anyway; and I have clear blue skies over = head now that I gave up and came home.

Steve and I have mentioned to a few of you the "Doc Wong Clinics/Rides" that occur the first Sunday of each month. Well the first sunday is coming up so I thought I would remind you. It starts at 8 AM (I know.. way early but trust me... it's worth it) at the Beaverton Honda warehouse at 10380 SW Cascade Blvd (right near Paradise Harley).

The format is a group of volunteer instructors talk for about an hour on overcoming a particular "survival reaction" that is counter to what we need to do on a bike. Tensing the arms and wrists for an example. It is great for riders of most abilities and levels (The ride is technical so not for complete beginners.. but even advanced riders can get something out of it.)

Then the group splits up into several smaller groups of 5-7 riders to practice the topic of the day. The ride is very technical but the slow groups go slow and the fast groups go faster and no one is left behind.

The whole thing is free although they do ask for donations to cover the fuel of the sweeper following the last group.

The ride ends at the Grand Lodge in Forest Grove for lunch and a debrief.

People are welcome to attend the clinic and not the ride, and if weather is REALLY bad the ride is sometimes canceled in favor of a large group breakfast somewhere.

Let me know if anyone has any questions.

Nicolle - be careful on the ride portion of the instruction. It is usually a very spirited ride and goes out to Detroit Lake. The instruction at the warehouse is put on by members of the sportbikews website and is very informative. However for a newbie rider if you don't know exactly where you are going you might find yourself riding to fast to try and keep up - which could be not so good. If Steve or your parents go with you that would ensure someone will hang with you to ensure you make all the right directional changes.

Have a good time....... and it was great to see you out at the track a few weeks ago, hope to get another girl in our class!

Misspriss- Nicole or Nicolle (spelling I got from your profile)...... the other Nicole is the daughter of Chris and Loni Taylor, she is a new rider and both of her parents ride.

I have not seen you on this board before, so I thought perhaps you made your way here via "your parents, the Taylor's".

At any rate, if you are new to riding the Doc Wong clinics are great, but the actual ride after has taken some heat recently due to the speed of the ride and actually losing some of the less experienced riders who were not and should not have been clipping along at the same pace.

BTW- welcome to the board..... I'm Kimberlie! : )

Kim, Our Nicole might come out next weekend and take a few laps around the track. She really enjoyed the track time she had last weekend. She was out there for 1 hour and 45 min! The only reason she stopped was she had to go to the bathroom! Maybe we could have another girl racer! I know that she would love to get some imput from you and Deb.: )

Hi Kimberlie!
I'm Nicolle : ) I'm just a lurker on this board as it is my hubbie that has the Buell. (I love my Ninja to much to trade it in.) But I have met a few of the riders here due to joining Macavete on Aprils' monthly ride and May's gathering.

Nice to meet you!

Hey Bob, what is the word on that tranny? I took the bike to the mechanic, he is going to redo to base gasket on the bike and put in "the oil fix"? Anyways, I would really like to be able to attend splash this year, but time and money are running out.
