Jimmy wasn't the only one to have a bad day in the hills. Apparently there were quite a few riders that went down yesterday. One was even killed on 75 outside Helen. The exact same thing that Jimmy did happened to this guy, lowsided in a right turn BUT- he was hit by an oncoming car, whereas Jimmy missed the car by ummm.... 10-15 feet (from what Shred told me). As most of you that have ridden with him know, Jimmy is a great rider. He needs to be encouraged to fix his bike and put it on the track!!!! Maybe that will help him feed his need for speed and slow down on the street. Then he can buy a Buell and still have fun in the corners. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!! |

B_A:Congrats to you..... Enjoy it. Don't let New12 corrupt you too soon, there is a reason they put 2 wheels on a motorcycle. |

Clown, I have my high speed back. As soon as I have the passwords I can start on the web page. Stealth, I can't find the images I made up for the BRC website, I'll start over. New12r, We have a ball game tonight, I'll give you a call to find out how late is too late to do your install. Everyone, I've still got Jimmy's flight in my head, please, please ride within your means. As I rode up to the scene, I saw no bike, all I saw was Jimmy laying on the ground not moving. I was so thankful he wasn't moving because he was taking inventory of himself, and not because he couldn't move. Then we went through, can you move/feel your toes, all the way up. Once he convinced me all was well he moved. Then we started collecting plastic pieces, parts and his bike. There is nothing "cool" about what happened. It very well could have been Jimmy we were picking out of a tree, or worse. I know I ride fast, but, I don't ride beyond my means, or ability. This was a mistake, an accident, I realize this, I also realize Mike and Pete had accidents as well... |

I had employed a spinal protection system the morning I went down... Our leathers are not super hero outfits; giving us the ability to leap over buildings in a single bound. On a neat-oh kind of note: I met up with this guy, Scot Hollenbeck, ( Olympic Silver Medal - 1,500m, Atlanta, GA - 1996: Paralympic Silver Medals - 800m and 1,500m, Atlanta, GA - 1996: Paralympic Gold Medals - 800m, 1,500m(WR), 4 x 400m(WR), Barcelona, Spain - 1992: and more I'm sure) What a guy. I met him at a friends wedding a few weeks ago. I had no indication that he was such a winner. He asked me if I wanted to go for a ride with him and his buddies some time.. so, I did on Sunday. At the end of the ride, I knew something was up... cause these guys knew way more than enthusiasts. Then they said... why don't you take the bike (the one I had borrowed) home for a few weeks. That's when I thought "who are these guys?" I got home and looked the guys up to find that they are all major players in the para world... changing rights through the ADA and winning medals in both the Olympics and the Para-Olympics! I also found that the bike they lent me, the Quickie Shark, is a pricey piece. ( http://www.quickie-wheelchairs.com/ab1588001/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Product_ID=1752 &CATID=21 ) Scot is the proprietor Vie Sport Marketing also: ( http://www.ccdclegal.org/vie_sports.htm ) A real treat to run with these guys. " I went for ride with Valentino Rossi the other day and he let me take his GP bike home for the rest of the month... no big deal." I hope I was being courted to be a part of an athletic team. I doubt it though... I'm a little old and fat. They are probably just nice guys being good to the newest guy in the gimp club. |

hey everyone , well guys i successfully rode my blast last night not for to long though. we were in the new neighborhood around the corner from the house. Charlie really surprised me on how calm he stayed with me never yelled and i just listened to everything he was tellin me to do and I did. I had so much fun i did fall down but after learning how to fall from new12r last week I let go an pulled my leg out in time that the bike just went down with out me under it brushed off my hot boots and got right back on . well after that the construction guys came over and told us we had to leave, so that was it for last night but i still had so much fun just driveing my bike. I LOVE ME THUMPER AND IT SOUNDS MEAN TOO HE HE. It takes practice and determination an I got that down pat, so I'm ready to practice some more. Who knows soon I could just show up one day not as a passanger but as a fellow bueller. That day will be so awesome and I know you guys will be there cheering me on . talk at you guys later |
