Yes, I was trapped behind being a Daddy on Sunday. Sounds like another fun day I've missed... girl riders, gas station fights, poor widdle me. funjimmy! I'll be waiting by the on-ramp for when you swing by Tacoma. That would be good.
Spud, ain't KOOKS great? BOB was telling me just yesterday how loud, obnoxious, and great it sounded on Betty.

Old Market Pub & Brewery
6969 SW Multnomah Blvd
Portland, OR 97223

Another place idea. Big parking lot, lots of room, good beer, ok food, pretty close to I-5 and HWY-26.

There have been a few little boo boo's this season. Duane (S!Blackie) and Brandon (Roadrash) were out together, and together they went down and to the trauma center. Broke backs, femurs, knees, faces, elbones were shared between the hapless crewmen. Both are doing really well, talked to Brandon today and he's walking now! There are some pic's of his bike in the archives.
And then there was Debbies little freeway on ramp get off on her bagger. She was shook but not cooked, and the bagger came through like a tank!
BobNuts computator is disfunctioning lately so he probly wont be able to respond, but I'm sure he would cast some repugnant comments into the mix like, , and ! Oh Bob, when will you grow up...
We gona see ya this year at SPASH, or what?

Sparropie,

The Kooks system is incredible. The booming sound when you wack the throttle is addictive. And those long stainless steel pipes look amazing wrapped around my motor. I'm getting all excited just thinking about it. Excuse me, I need to go wack my throttle.

I recieved a letter and they would like some info and a picture of our BRAG club for a future edition of FUELL. They need a digital picture at least 300 DPI at 3X5 by May 31. I thought we could work for a good showing at our May meeting and someone with a good camera could take a few of us and the bikes.

It would be good if we could have a new meeting place by the time we send stuff to FUELL, say "meet us here" in the bio.

Also -
Oregon Vintage Motorcycle meet this month -
http://www.oregonvintage.org/corvallis_files/26th-Annual-Corvallis3.htm

I plan on going to the meet. Any interest in making a group ride out of it?

Thndrboy: Three strategies to make smaller photos for posting on the BadWeB...........

Using a Paint Shop kind of program.........

1) Crop the image so that the resulting image only shows the important part of the original photo.

2) Resize the cropped image. The images I post are usually 500 pixels wide, no more than 600.

3) Use something like XAT.com Image Optimizer to reduce the quality (i.e. the size) of the pictures.

Okay, three and a half strategies: Be sure to save the photo you plan to post as a .JPG image

3 3/4: Be sure to do all of this on a copy of the original and keep the original image safe.

Is the next Brag meeting on the 17th on this month then Roc?

I would very much like to have the meetings someplace "motorcycley" If there is such a place. A place where we can all go and not have everyone stare at us as we come in. A place where motorcycles are more common then cars. Is there such a place here local?

One place I know of is THE CORNER in Sherwood.

100 or so bikes (Harleys) show up every Tues. LOTS of chrome Lots of VERY nice paint. Take the Sherwood Rd. exit off I-205, north to the 4-way stop. You're there. Check it out.

S1H - Yes I think the 17th is the 3rd Tuesday.

Wanker's Corner Saloon - has MC stuff on Wednesdays

Kelly's Olympian - Probably the "cool place" to meet. http://www.kellysolympian.com/

I was ridding home from work a few weeks ago and I saw this magnificent red and gold stallion of an XB12S at the corner gas station. Of course I had to stop and say howdy, don't see many Buells around here. Turns out the rider was forming a local ridding club. Well we met up last weekend for a ride to nowhere in particular. The two guys I met up with were Josh and Josh, easy for me to remember. Here is a shot of our bikes during a break.
Bikes
Found out that the XB, with the gas in the frame, doesn't do a lot of miles before going empty. Here is a shot of Josh (well one of them) just after the roadside fillup.
Need Gas
Don't have too many pics from the day, too busy ridding fast and having a good time. Looking forward to the next ride, try to get some more pics next time.

Hello everyone, and thanks for well wishes, and prayers. I went back too the archives and read a few.

I talked to Brandon the other day He is doing well and walking.

I was just given the go ahead to weight bare on my left leg, the one with the knee injury.
Its a little slow going, hopping along with one leg and a walker. Yes Lisa is able to get away quite easilly! She has had to put up with alot God bless her. So I guess I can say I went from 4 wheels too 2 which is, after all what we all strive for!
The right heal with numerous fractures will take a bit longer to bear weight.

Don & Lo thank you for the stones and all, nice talkin to yuuuzze!

Chris & Lonnie I wished I could have made it down nice talkin too you two!

Mike & Kim: Mike I'll take you up on that left side fairing lower If that Is okay, no big rush I'm not going any where for awhile. Hope too hitch a ride with Bob & deb next time they head down too race and watch Cody. and Kim I'll take you up on that hug offer from way back when.

Galen, thanks for coming out to the hosp for a visit.

Bob & Deb well just plain thanks for everything!!

Good to hear from you, Duane. Wishing you, and Brandon, a speedy return to health.
I'd asked before and got several responses: whose address can I use for an eBay purchase? Customs clearance through UPS costs more than the part is worth ($30). Seller won't ship by USPS, which would eliminate the problem. Its a small package (speedo drive unit) that I would either have you re-package and mail to me or just bring it along to SPLASH. Duane? Galen? Bob?
And Galen. If you want to come up for an overnighter and a ride on Saturday or Sunday or Monday, I'm ready any time now.

Eric, Your more than welcome to use mine, just shoot me a e-mail at: hansnhelga@netscape.com

Don't want to make any predictions about splash, but I hope to talk Lisa into driving down in the cage. for a visit and tilt back a few brews with the gang. I could bring the part with me or have Bob ,or Galen deliver.

Keep the shiney side up!!

Later Duane

M2 question.

Well, honestly, probably just a general motorcycle question. I'm starting to hear a rattle when i push the engine at all. I suspect that means that my chain needs adjustment. I know i know, my primary drive is a belt, but isn't there a chain up front inside that handles the gears? Anyhow, assuming that needs to be tightened, is it something a motorcycle maintenance novice like myself can handle, or something I should be wandering down to the dealer for?

Duane, good to be heard. news? too much work, not enough riding, which ain't exactly news. offed the VFR you saw me on the last time for a V-Strom, just recently offed the V-S for an '05 FJR1300, aka "The Reactor."

how long before you're back in the wind?

Macavite, adjusting the primary chain is easy. buy a service manual from Paradise and you're home free.

ps to Duane: hello to Lisa.

Macavite,

I'm not sure that would cause a rattle, but it is not hard to check.

I would grab things and see if they were loose first, exhaust part?

Jerry, the FJR sounds interesting. It's one of the choices I'm considering for a new steed.

As much as I want too don the gear, stuff the busted up foot in a boot, hop on the s1 and go.

I'm shooting to be back in the wind by late summer.

Duane, me too. They have a 2005 FJR 1300 trade in at Destination with 400 miles on it. Since I work across the street, I go over an drool on it to keep other folks away. A hog member bought it and said it was too radical a position for him, so he traded on a new bagger. They asking $11000 for it. How's it ride Ferris?
