I did some updates to the WindyCityBrag website today. First I have updated the calendar to include all of Speedy's race dates for this year. Come out and give him some support when you can. Next I've made some changes to the Newsletter page. Instead of having the current newsletter on that page I have changed it to be a link page to the newsletters which are stored on the server. In this way I have saved myself the time consuming job of doing a copy and paste of the current newsletter to an html file. Also this allows me to put up each months newsletter and you can now choose to read this months or any month prior. Plus you may now save the file to your computer or do a print of it exactly like the handouts. I currently have only the Jan & Feb 2005 ones there but if you'd like I can put more of the earlier editions up, thats no problem, just let me know how far I should go back. Let me know if you have any problems with this new setup. Sam

Sam,

I like it! The newsletter posting is a great idea. I visited the site and everything works (and looks) real good. Gee, I guess we'll need to watch who we badmouth now that the uncensored newsletter is public domain.

Nice job, and THANKS!

Ok, here the scoop. We have the advanced riders course setup for Sat May 7th and Sat June 18. There is also the possiblity of having your own class but we would have to have a minimun of 5 paid students to set it up. Let me know what you want to do. Sam

Got pointed in this direction from one of the other boards. My name is James and I live in Naperville. I look forward to meeting some people. I usually ride around with a bunch of guys on Japanese bikes, and I think it would be cool to get another Buell or two in the mix.

Hi James, good to meet (hear from) you. Our BRAG chapter meetings are the first Thursday of every month, 7:00PM, here at the dealership. Come on out and meet the guys, we would be very happy to hook up with another Buell rider. That makes the next meeting on Thurs, March 3rd. Hope to see you then. Sam

PS , You can also visit out chapter website at

James,

If your idea of "getting another Buell or two in the mix" involves a bigger fire, then you're on your own. I sure hope that isn't a picture of your old ride!

Seriously though......we have several chapter members out your general direction: West Chicago, Glen Ellyn, St. Charles, Lockport to name of few. We're in the process of planning rides, track days, sport nights and compiling a club contact list for impromptu and/or local rides. Feel free to join our BRAG meetings first Thursday of month at IL-HD/Buell to meet some fellow Buellers. See our website below for more details.

I'd love to hear about any good sport routes and/or rides you care to share.

All

wanna ditch your mid-winter blues? check out the Chicago Buells and Blues thread over on Home Court Advantge -- this started as a way to hel Jack Reinhart celebrate his birthday (Jack's an original member of the Buell family in East Troy, and an all 'round loon), and has expanded to an event of Homeric proportions (well, it'll be big fun, at any rate)

Saturday night, 26 March, The Tommy Castro Band will play at the Clearwater Theatre (very cool venue for this kinda thing!) in West Dundee -- this band does a great job of playing Chicago-style blues -- contrary to popular urban legend, one cannot hear the water rushing over the edge of the planet form there --

gonna be very cool -- check it out (there may be a surprise guest or three, as well)

KirK, I shook the cobwebs out at Oakton Community College parking lot right when it started getting dark (5:00pm ??), then spent the next 4 hours on Sheridan Road from Evanston to Lake Bluff (about 3 times). Running the two-lane, tree-lined twisting roads amongst all those magnificent north-shore mansions late at night when traffic is nil makes me think Isle of Mann (whannabe).

Recap of last minute, short notice, multi BRAG club officers meeting.
Well we had 8 people there so not a bad turn out given the short notice.
We decided that the second Sunday of every month, starting in May is a gathering at the Hamburger Haus in Dundee.
It is, I have been told, already a bike hangout and is right in the middle of the good roads in the Kettle.
By doing this we should have a good number of Buell congregating without having to have big group rides. All groups will ride their own route to Dundee and back home. Think mini Rock Store atmosphere. Riders that don't care to ride in a group at all can just ride to Dundee.
Meeting time will be 1:00 PM or there abouts.
This will also take pressure off club officers as to planning things to do. Those riders that can make it, make it, those that can't, come the next month.
It will also make it easy to remember for club members.

Other stuff
April 30th Erik and the Thunderbolts at Lakeshore HD/Buell
May 14th Open House HD/Buell of Appleton

Aug 6th River run to Dubuque, Lakeshore HD/Buell

July 23rd Stunt Fest at Union Grove
Sept 17-18th Ride around Lake Michigan

Thanks to Steve for lighting a fire under this project!

Bobby,

Good to hear from you. Thanks for offering the use of the new WindyCity WEST facilities! New warehouse, new kid, new track gig......life must be treating you good (at least I hope so).

Curiously, are the NESBA track days a good place for non-race types, or is the pace better suited to more aggressive/skilled riders?

You see/hear from Brent?

As far as the skill goes I think they divide it up like any event according to your level.Brent, I talk to him all the time.He just dropped off my body parts from the X 1 to get painted from crash #2 He's had my bike for a few months now .He took it from me due to neglect and enrolled her in his own personal OVERHAULING GARAGE.Iguess there is nothing left to be done on his and he's become bored.I told him it needs to beat him at Sturgis this year,so we'll se how she looks when he's all done .I'm hoping for lots o chrome(yuk, yuk).
