Holes are on both sides!! Just wanted any suggestions before I clean, prime and paint. Sometimes fresh eyes can help, and my girlfriend is clueless!! Thanks. Yeah Bio, I like yours, but didn't want to take your design!

Wow, that's some force you got going there. To be able to suck a hold into your airbox cover.

Might be good to have a plan before cutting holes into your airbox cover.

hey Newxb9er I don't mean to rain on your parade but my legs and arms would block your holes that you cut. Just a thought, especially in a tuck.

My legs would only get close if I climbed up on the airbox cover!! My arms do not get anywhere near that.

I swiss cheesed my air box, but have not cut the cover. I'm just wondering if sufficient air will flow through the frame and between the painted cover and the adulterated air box top. I don't want to cut that purdy yeller plastic unless I need to.

Spatten, you can lean out the bike pretty good without having to cut anything more than the air box.

Yeah, I did it more for style. There is sufficient airflow without doing that, I'm sure. Or Buell would have done things different.
On my box, My legs are close, and my arms would cover it if I was tucked down in a straight away. It's not going to choke out if I do have any part of my body cover it for a minute. I was going to keep my eye out for another box, so I can have two different paint jobs. That one, I probably wouldn't cut. Thanks guys for the input. I thought it out pretty good, but not all the way! For some reason I didn't think of my riding position!

Here is an shape for the hole that perhaps blends more smoothly with the shape of the airbox cover. You could modify your existing hole to this shape as I did not add any material to my rough sketch here.hole

i just used good old fashion black silicon. It holds just fine and flexes a lil just in case.i just put the silicon on the ruff plastic then applied the screen then clamped the two together over night

Please figure out how to post pics without the overwidth and extra white border.

the gutter screen from the hardware store. Only thing is, you have to remove the inner airbox or the lid will not fit.
Rigga, that is a great looking piece of work!! Looks good.

hi steve..... no its just aluminium mesh thats used in body repaires and the like, very cheap about £1.50 a sheet, should be ok but not sure the sheets are big enough for the size of holes in your cover, any car parts shop should carry it,halfords do anyway
