Author Message   Lovematt Posted on Thursday, February 03, 2005 - 09:27 am:        I am in the process of getting a Drummer for my XB9R and have gotten a Race ECM from Dave. What I am wondering is if I should put in the Race ECM at the same time as the Drummer or can I wait a bit and ride for a while with the stock ECM. The bike has the 12 airbox and K&N Air Filter on it already.   Glitch Posted on Thursday, February 03, 2005 - 09:36 am:        It'll be OK, it will run lean though. You'll hear a lot of popping at deccel (leaning out). The weather is colder when I ride to work and back too....~45 degrees so that may help. Okay so it may be safe to run it for a short while on the stocker but it is not recommended long term.   Glitch Posted on Thursday, February 03, 2005 - 10:10 am:        I know of several XBs that have just an aftermarket exhaust and no other mods, and have heard of no problems doing it that way. Fan running constantly, and like Glitch says, lots of popping on decel. With the ecm installed about a week or two later, all problems solved. Even on long easy rides, the fan was staying on for long periods of time.
