ok now i bought a jardine rt one exaust for my 04' 12r and wow i loved the sound and power up top where i ride but in about 165 miles the darn thing litteraly pulled itself apart the front of the can seperated from the can itself and rattles like mad and thier underdeveloped rubber band around the rear band broke and started wearing through the can sheese so i called jardine and got nothing but an attitude i was told that it must be the way my bike is running (hrmmmm isnt it ecm controlled) ie way to lean wich is what causes this ok now if the can cant handle the 14.7 to 1 stock ratio then how can they sell this thing as a performance part for our bikes and let em do this??? ok then so i was pissed beeing the fact i just bought the darn thing in less than a week prior i called Al at AMERICAN SPORTBIKE where i bought the exaust and they are taking care of me they called jardine and said i just bought it and that there is no way that i can cause all of this in 165 miles heheh so now im out an exaust and my bike is down for a week or so darnit i wanna play *whine* anyways anyone else with these problems????? p.s. all of the chin fairing brackets have been fixed and replaced with cold steel ones in the kit | ||

You could go to home depot like I did and get some vinyl or something like that weatherstripping and use it as the rubber isolator. As far as the front of the exhaust can, You could temporarily use some sheet metal screws, but I don't know if that would ruin the warrenty on the Can. | ||

Just under 750 miles since the install of a Jardine on my 9. Not one complaint from me. Who did the install? Maybe something wasn't tightened down. I dunno, mine is looking pretty stout and I don't think anything it's gonna change anytime soon on it.  (Message edited by tucsonxb9s on December 05, 2004) | ||

My Jardine broke the left kickstand/fairing exhaust mount around a thousand miles. I took it off, grinded the coating off the mount, welded it,painted and put it back on as good as new. | ||

I look mine over before i ride, always check the springs they look like the weak link to me, no problems yet 400 miles | ||

naw i wish i could just re-poprivet it but alas jardine has made me uninstall the pipe and ship it to them for them to see before they "decide" to warranty the darn thing or not i called them back to let them know the pipe was mailed yesturday and got nothing but the middle finger and it cant be there product it has to be my bike running so lean it burned it out hrmmmmm ok???/ arent our bikes computer controlled????? i have no control over how and where the ratio is run at other than the 14.7 epa rating blarg i am getting t'ed royally but the good news is that Al @ A.S.B and i got to meet at the asbn meeting last nite and he said now matter what jardine decides to do he will work with me to make sure im sattisfied (isnt he a reat guy????) i will deffinately do buisness with Al and A.S.B. again  | ||

How do you know the ratio that it is running? Have you had it dyno tested? Do you have anything else done to the bike? | ||

Better intake and exhaust flow will make your bike lean, here's another news flash, the way the stock map is, they are on the lean side to start with. You'd be very lucky to have 14.7 (stoic) in stock trim... A TFi or race ECM will help with your mixture woes, I personally like the TFi... | ||

sorry im not paying 400$ for a re-welded shortened stock pipe (imo not worth the $) not to upset you guys sorry i wont buy the d&d wich is 2 14" long glasspacks and the latus is a edelbrock performer rpm series car muffler i know the jardine name from other brands of bikes and they make an awsome product i know i know you guys want the midrange power but see my problem is i ride the $%^&*)*(&^%^&* outta my bike when im out playing it s very very rarely below 3800 to 4200 so thats where i want to power anyways hrmmmmmm maybee ill make my own muffler using a flowmaster scince most of the after market cans are going that way anyways :P | ||

D&D build exhaust's they don't use existing mufflers to make there brands.Jardine makes a awesome product but they haven't been around Buell long so they may have some reliability problems to work out for awhile and then decide weather to produce anylonger.Even V&H quite and they had problems as well but not horrific ones. | ||

Max - no upset at all. To each his own. The Drummer fits, doesn't break and looks good IMHO. It works for me. | ||

the way i look at it is it's a performance bike that is going to get ridden hard for a few years and then i am just going to wnat something different so i don't waste the money on that stuff, i just wait for the next time i buy something different. This way i havent spent the money on the mods that i could have just put towards the loan on my bike and then got myself into a new one that much sooner. | ||

Drummer on a 9 and drummer on a 12 are two very different questions. The 12 has a *very* good exhaust from the factory. | ||

 ok just got the word from jardine my muffler was a "fluke" it didnt have any packing material in it when it got back to them hrmmmm whoops anyways they made thier r&d guy repack the can by hand and with an updated material heheheh cool to to heck they even overnited the can so i can have it back to play this weekend yippie well and on top of that not to get too far off target talked to Al at A.S.B. and ordered the double bubble for my 12 he was very pleased to hear that jardine was taking good care of his customer laters i gotta chase down the ups guy :P | ||

something like that huh???? the only thing that i can think that they did to "update" the packing material is add more steel wool and use less fiberglass seeming that the ole 12 burned it out soo fast hehe *shrug* hrmmm now if i can fix the rubin oil line problems i would be very happy prolly gonna use the stock rear bracket and make spacer blocks to make it fit right and be stable  | ||

finished putting the ole jardine back on i figured out how to get the oillines outta the way of thr bracket (well at least make more room for em) but with the "updated" packing material it sounds so much more "gruntish" hehehe i dunno i likie though im off to ride the thing and let the comp learn the new muff again | ||

ok i just passed the 150 mile mark o the new muff and it is holding up very well as far as i can tell no change in sound or anything to report at this time other than the fact that the bike seems to have a bit more midrange than it did the first go round *shrug* well im off to ride | ||

That sucks Maxima, did you have the newer brackets where the right bracket attached to the front header mount and the left bracket attaches to the primary case screw? Also did you run screws through the front holes in the chin fairing to keep the fairing together? I'm curious what broke and where. I have the new steel brackets, but haven't even put them on yet as the original steel brackets are holding up after more that 1k miles and I would rather modify the old aluminum style brackets to tie into the additional mounts (drop another lb from the bike). I am going to call Jardine next week about the sloppy fit on the band going around the exhaust-stuff is getting caught in the gap and working on wearing away at the can. Still like the exhaust for the money, I just wish they would pay a little more attention to detail. xbolt12 | ||

yeah i put the 2 front screws in the chin fairing and the brackets are the new steel ones it broke (looking at the front of the bike) on the right side the ear itself that screws to the front gray peice man i am soooo pissed and besides i found some actuall dyno reports and the stock 12 can makes only 3 less ponies than the jardine but the stock can makes like 7 more ft l/b of torque *boggle*????? |
