Ok, I live in Houston, I have an XB9S.There are 3 Dealerships within 60 miles of were I live. All 3, everytime I go in to buy a part/ accessory they carry nothing. Harley parts they have. Buell not even spark plugs.everything must be ordered. Why doesnt Buell get down on Harley to treat us Buellers with some respect. They sell our bike ,stock some parts for us.they all say sorry, but we are not required to stock. If not then I think Buell.com should start selling online OEM parts/accessorys to us.Its a pain in the a-- to drive to the dealer for something small like sparkplugs and have to wait 5-10 work days to get, then drive back to pickp.I also own a Harley nightrain , unless its a fancey accessory they have general everyday parts. Now I only know Houston, Is this a Houston problem or is it a nationwide issue? Please tell me. Frustrated. |

I get the same thing in NJ. But they try to find the product at another dealer first before ordering it. |

Why bother? Order from Daves, his pricing discount makes up for what you pay in shipping... If you have to order why not get it from him anyway? |

Is this a Houston problem or is it a nationwide issue? I don't have that problem, but I understand it's a wide spread thing though. All you have to do is get in touch with Daves Go here, and visit the Dave I gotta have it now thread. It's the best we can do when faced with dealers that don't get it. Good luck! |

I am sorry to hear this. In the interim, I 'll offer TWO tips: 1) Buell has the stuff. There is nothing, perhaps I should qualify that a bit, but I'll go with NOTHING that Buell can not have out the door the day an order is received. 2) In the interim, do what I do and order from Dave. I'll qualify that by saying I have never had bad service from a dealer on Badweb. I order stuff from Dave and "poof" it's here like a day or two later in New York City. Yes, New York City sitting here with most of the United States" highest income folks, like 9,000,000 people and yupettes and no Buell dealer worth darkening the door of. Currently an embarrasment for Buell..but not for long I'd wager. Court |

Get used to it. At least they call a spade a spade and admit they don't carry them for a reason. Back ordered is my favourite. "Umm yer, computer says we're clean sold outta those over here and there're on BACK ORDER from the State. Usually takes a good 6-8 weeks". I would be so much happier if they said "Sorry not something we carry in our Buell Inventory and we'll promptly order it from the States and have it added to our next shipment." |

Ask each of them if they will be carrying Buell after 12/31/04. I'd be interested in what is happening there. Please report back at this link: Thinning The Herd Oh, and your situation is the norm, unless you live in Topeka, Atlanta, or .... ah well, that might be it. Oh yes of course, Appleton. If you really need spark plugs the XB9 uses the same plugs as the V-Rod. I can understand your frustration, I have been in that situation before. I am lucky that I have two near by dealers that are pro Buell and between the two they usually have what I need in stock. |

I've experienced the same wait of 10 days from the 2 dealers in the area. Thing I can't understand, is if I order a part for my German car, it can come from Germany in about 3 days(most of the time it can be had next day). Guess shipping from within the US from Buell is an Honor! They need to get a bit better on the Customer Service(Stock and Shipping)! Off SoapBox Kaveman |

Most of the chatter about Buell parts has as much fact as the 1995 Buell RS1200. Recently several folks lamented about the Buell S-2 Thunderbolt stickers being obsolete. Whoa is me they cried, tossing hand to forehead as the dealer told them the "tubers are being abandoned". Fact is, here is the status of Buell inventory on that day...
Buell Motorcycle Company | | | | Decal Inventory Review | | | | October 18, 2004 | | | | 1995 S2 | | | | | | | | Parts Book Part Number | Buell Part Number | Part Description | MAX Qty On Hand | | | | | 14600-95Y | M0730GR/GR.8 | Decal, Fuel Tank Cover (Dark Gray / Light Gray) | 18 | 14601-95Y | M0730WH/BL.8 | Decal, Fuel Tank Cover (White / Blue) | 68 | 14602-95Y | M0730WH/GR.8 | Decal, Fuel Tank Cover (White / Gray) | 297 | 14603-95Y | M0742GR.8 | Decal, Front Fairing (Gray) | 22 | 14604-95Y | M0742WH.8 | Decal, Front Fairing (White) | 148 | 14605-95Y | M0745GR/GR.8 | Decal, Rear Tail Section (Dark Gray / Light Gray) | 0 | 14606-95Y | M0745WH/BL.8 | Decal, Rear Tail Section (White / Blue) | 15 | 14607-95Y | M0745WH/GR.8 | Decal, Rear Tail Section (White / Gray) | 81 | | The manuals, claimed to be obsoleted were down to 430 units on hand in the Franklin Distribution Center. It surprised some of the folks I reported back to that Buell was actually SEEKING to add performance parts to the list of S-2 stuff they sold. At one time....Buell has a real parts delivery problem. Things, although not perfect, are much better, very good and on par with any manufactuer in the world. Court |

The fact of the matter is, there probably are not more than a ten or twenty REAL Buell dealers in the entire country, in spite of the hundreds listed on the Buell web site. By "real" I simply mean a place that : a.stocks all four models of the motorcycle, b. gives demo rides c.has a supply of commonly used spare parts, and knows how to promptly order the others d. has a service department that has at least two fully qualified Buell technicians. e. does not treat Buell owners as second class citizens. Here is my personal list of "real" dealers. Please add to it if you have personal knowledge. I know there must be a few more out there. 1. Appleton Harley Davidson Buell. Home of our own Daves. 2. Tilley's, Statesville NC 3. Edison Harley Davidson, Edison NJ 4. Woodstock Harley Davidson Kingston NY. 5. Buell Cycle Center Waterloo, IA I have only actually visited Tilley's and Woodstock. Court recommended Edison, and I buy all my parts from Daves. The only thing I know about Waterloo is that they are a Bad Web sponsor. Let's see your nominations. |

I've gotta hope that Topeka, having been a Buell dealer for 20 years, is still on the list. I'll defer to the KC group but at one time few folks were better at servicing than Dave Haworth and Bruce Zimmerman who both owned Buells as well as FXR's and XR-1000's. Dave Chall was, and I hope still is, one of the tops when it comes to Buell parts. Someone want to volunteer to maintain this list? I think we need to, on a quarterly basis, award a "Badweb Buell Owners Seal of Approval". I'd be willing to create a model set of criteria and see if we can "partner" with the Mothership. Court |

And I nominate Glitch to design the actual seal:-) I'll see what I can come up with. "Badweb Buell Owners Seal of Approval" I'd like to add Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson & Buell to the list of real Buell dealers that get it. BBOSA worthy. I'll help maintain the list as well. I'd be willing to create a model set of criteria and see if we can "partner" with the Mothership. Create away! |

Topeka meets and exceeds the above requirements. Staffing is strong. Sales - Scott. The Parts Doctor - Dave Chall (M2 owner) Buell techs supreme - Dusty (X1) and Bruce Zimmerman (S2, XR-1000). Stock everything Buell you could expect. Floor inventory is a little thin (because they sell them, have sent 3 City X bikes out already). Great BBQ cafe (Lonnie the brisket king). Home of West Tek - Tim can create anything in metal with .000 tolerance and keeps my exhaust systems in one piece. We are satisfied

Hey, maybe we could even add a little incentive to those dealers that are slacking.. I mean, since they are well aware of our 'credentials' as Buell enthusiasts here at BadWeb.. Perhaps the Burn Out of Approval (hey, maybe a variation on the grin test?) could become a much sought after award.. I for one would rather deal with the 'Real' Buell dealers then someone that cares less for me as a customer. Later, |

Meridith HD / Buell in Meridith NH. When ever I am in there I am treated like they want me there. Dave (yes there is an other one) is always willing to take the time to talk, advise etc.. They have several dedicated Buell sales people and have a dedicated place on the main floor for display that is not tucked away from sight. I have a Blast and they have always been there for me even though I did not buy it there. Of course Appleton Dave has been there for me as well so I guess I'm a lucky guy. Sandy |

Jcmgroom, I'm in Houston too and have run into the same problems... Mancuso on the loop and on 290 don't even have Buell t-shirts. I went in the other day to buy some shirts and was told, sorry they sell out the minute we get them! Duh, why not keep them in stock? I wish we could buy from Buell directly and bypass the dealers. I must say that Macuso treated my wife and I like royality when we purchased the bike. They where great. I'm going to check out Woodlands HD and plan on doing my 500 mile service there. I'll let you know... |

Mike Bolts, I was told that Mancuso on crossroads was ok with Buell service,They all treat you great when it,s time to buy . they want your money.I went to Republic, forgetaboutit,it took them 10 min just to find the parts manual, service looks at my xb9s with race pk likes it's a spaceship.Let me know how the woodlands is, I just hate driving from Sugarland to woodlands for service. |

Glendale Harley-Buell in Glendale Ca. certainly qualifies. One enthusiastic dedicated Buell specialist/salesman (Ernie Snair), at least one Buell tech, sales floor space reserved for Buells (half-dozen on the floor as of last week), racks full of Buell bits and a fair amount of Buell-logo clothing on the shelves. I haven't tried to purchase Buell parts over their parts counter yet, however. But so far so good... Does anyone have a report on Bartels' Harley in Marina del Rey? Last time I was in there all the new Buells had been relegated to the "used bikes" outbuilding, which was kinda rude. But they are under construction of a huge new showroom, so that may be a temporary arrangement... I'll wait and see. |

jcmgroom, two things, first I called the Woodlands to make an appointment and the guy didn't even know how long it would take, what was involved or how much it was. I decided to drop it off on Friday and pick it up on Saturday, I'll keep you posted... can't say I'm too impressed at this point. I also visited Mancuso on 290 today (I was bored) and was thrilled to see a Buell tank bag on the rack, which I jumped on. They have some other parts on the wall, nothing exciting. Their shirts are all out of date, in small or XXL and the one on display even has holes in it (moths?). TTYL |
