Actually, I got mine to mount up very nicely without much fuss, it looks fantastic. I used 3rd eye bar ends, which worked pretty well and were cheap (at most bike shops), other bar ends could be very easily adapted.

I can post pictures tonight...

Basically, the wind deflectors (which work great BTW, I would not be without them) pivot on the same pivot that the clutch and brake levers pivot on (as I recall). The other end of the deflectors, the outboard end, just has a C shaped opening that snaps onto some short bar end plugs with a little button on the end.

The plugs come out easily. For my 3rd eye, I just drilled through the milddle of the plugs, and got a longer mounting bolt to replace the one that came with the mirrors, and attached them through the plugs. The plugs act kind of like a washer if you can picture that. This keeps the "snap" part of the button intact, so the wind guards work as normal.

The 3rd eyes are a little too close to the bars on my 9sx anyway, so the extra half inch or so of length this gives the whole setup is welcome.

It looks great, and works very well. A slightly longer stalk (like another half inch) and a slightly larger field of view on the mirror would make it even better, but they still work much better then the stock units.

I will try and post pictures tonight, it was about as easy and cheap a mod as you can make.

they would most likely bolt up to a firebolt, but i would think they would hit the fairing.

OK... Its late, and they are here. Had to take them with the phone cam, sorry, I will get better ones up this weekend, but this gives the idea.

Install is dead simple. Get a longer screw for the 3rd eye bar ends (like an inch longer, around same diameter, and a few washers) at home depot or whatever.

Drill a hole through the middle of the bar end plugs. Go from the inside of the plug (they pull out with pliars) as there is already a pilot hole there and it will end up nice and neat and straight.

Now put the 3rd eye mirrors back together through the middle of the plug, like it is a big thick washer. Nothing to it, looks perfect.

You can play with spacers to make it even better, I would like mine to be an inch further out, and wish the mirrors were about 20% bigger, but they are still better then stock even as is.

OK, got some better shots, including an "exploded" diagram.

The parts.

Basically, I just picked up a longer bolt and a few washers from home depot. Only modification was to drill a hole through the end of the bar end plugs for the cityx that the deflectors snap onto.
