Sold my XB9SX few years ago .... knew it was a mistake .

Looked at a nice 12R today , miss the neutral riding position of the XBS

I know the pegs are a swap but would like to get the bars up and back to mimic the XBSX position

Any answers ideas appreciated

There are many firebolts with flat bars. Maybe some that has done the swap can chime in on what all needs to be done.

The Lightning footpegs drop right in.

Handlebars are another story, due to the fairing clearance. American Sport Bike sells a kit that gives you upright bars in a similar position to Lightning.

Yup, you can use an XBS top tripple, and bars. Just switch the Firebolt's windscreen to a zero gravity sport touring windscreen and the brake master cylinder JUST BARELY clears.

super easy.

03 XB9SLR

lightning top tree, cables, and "just the right dirt bike bar" and you'll be all good. just have to make a mount for the key switch. and your fork lock wont be functional...

stock fairing, stock windscreen, stock lightning cables. had to trim the horn button a hair shorter because it wanted to hit the airbox at full lock.

this also has lightning low forks, rear shock and jiffy stand ...
