Greta looking project so far! Would love to see a kit for this, I'd buy one! I think the lights should be stacked vertically and centered and I think it should be painted Buells blue, not HD black, orange or white :-) | ||

It is looking nice! My thought on the intake? I was waiting for you to ask, thank you. Mount the throttle body pointing up. Make two parallel cuts. Then turn and rotate to where you need it. Weld it back together. Weld on a mount for the third support of the body. Later option; use the inside of the frame for a reserve tank? | ||

Hi everybody! Thanks again for you interest. I can already show you parts and ideas. We could add some nice parts to the XR-1. And David has been working hard at Bottpower, designing some more parts and putting everything together. Here is the triple tree, handle bars and controls. My friends from Kiddomotors made my life easier. Nice piece of art:  The front plate lights will be similar to that. Solobuell provided me with this parts:  Finally we decided to install the oil cooler on the back of the front plate. Therefore the oil cooler has been done according to the plate measures:  As I previously explained, we will use the Torque Hammer Exahust from twinmotorcycles, nice one:  The lower tank has been fully designed by David, here you can see the left side:  And two more ideas of the final look:   (Message edited by 1972rvbb on October 24, 2011) | ||

Thanks Buewulf, the exhaust is great. It's the new Torque Hammer from Twinmotorcycles, and i have been informed that on the dyno the performance results are excellent! | ||

You mentioned a lower tank half ? Oil tank ? The pictures show the Buell XB swingarm/oil tank being used , what is that new tank half for ? | ||

Citysxlicker, the bike measures are closer to the xb12ss, however not the same. Hi kdogshirow, I'm using the long xb swingarm which the oil inside. The lower tank is for the fuel. As you can see from the pictures the upper tank is the original HD XR750 flattracker, which is very, very small. Using both we have more riding time. We focused very much on aesthetics, as well as functionality and performance. | ||

Thanks blake, the wiring arnes goes along the frame and all other electric staff is on the subframe/tray. The fuel capacity will be aprox 13liters / 3,5 gallons, not much different front the xb I guess. | ||

I know at the beginning of the thread the estimated weight of the bike was going to be ~385 lbs. Any idea of what it will end up being as the bike is getting put together? (been obsessing about bike weight and the xB's engine/trans weight that is ~180 lbs from what I can find online) | ||

I can tell you that the engine/trans is more than I can lift without a huge struggle so definitely more than 100 pounds. | ||

Hi again, sorry for the delay. Right now we are mounting everything together and preparing all minor details before we start the painting. This is taking quite a bit of time, but it is worth. The result deserves the effort. For the previous question, the total weight will be around 375 lb (170 kg). This is the minimum possible as we are using oem engine, wheels and swingarm. Answering another question, the wiring will follow the spine frame till the subframe, where the Ecm is located. Here you have some pictures of the front without the plate, that shows the lights and oil cooler. Note that machined triple tree, lovely. Also you can see the upper fuel tank (as you know, there is a second one below the seat (machined, of course). Pay attention on the tank quality. The bottom is fully adapted to the engine top in order to gain volume. Another piece of art  This tank has the same measures or the XR750.    And finally another color livery. I like playing with that. This one is one of my favorites!  And sorry again for the delay of the updates... and any advices for colors? | ||

Harley could easily due this. Just a matter of 1 frame ! Everything else is bolt - on . If one of the Japanese OEM's ever built a street tracker I don't think I would ever look another Harley - Davidson ! KAWASAKI, ARE YOU LISTENING ? ERIK BUELL, ARE YOU LISTENING? | ||
