Other than a loose wire or short, what could cause the main fuse to keep blowing? Or is a short more than likely the issue?

Does it blow as soon as you put it in, or when you switch on the key? If its when you switch on your key check the large ignition relay. I had this go on me and had the same problem.

Good luck.

it always seems to blow as I'm getting on the throttle. I replaced It immediately as I carry a spare and didn't get five feet before it blew again.

As always, check your grounds/battery cables first. And the ground wire to the VR. A loose connection can cause high resistance, which leads to a high amp draw, and the fuse 'sees' that as a short, and pops.

"A loose connection can cause high resistance, which leads to a high amp draw"

That is exactly backwards.

The dealer has determined the problem to be the VR. So at least u guys are all on the same page. How difficult is it to get to and replace on my own? I have the manual and could give it a try.
