I always wear a full face helmet, boots, long pants, shirt and gloves. I also have a nice teknic leather racing jacket, full armor. But I have to say, if it's above 80, I most of the time don't wear it. Even thou it's perforated in the front and inside of sleeves. Why?, it's just to darn hot. I wish I put it on everytime I ride, temp wise, it's overkill, but safety wise, I am always wishing in the back of my mind I had it on.

Anyone here, wear jacket all the time?
anyone not wear a full face Helmet.

it's funny, on my chopper, it was beenie helmet and a wife beater...doesn't feel right riding a sport bike without a full face.

On the Buell I always wear, full face helmet,Vanson jacket, boots(but I always wear boots)gloves and most of the time Vanson leather pants. Yeah, I get a little hot sometimes but you never know when you might crash.

On the HDs, usually no helmet(I know,I know)leather jacket if it's under about 90 out, boots, gloves and if it's cool out, chaps.

I know an accident can happen at any time but I tend to ride the HDs a little less aggressively.

Ride to the edge!

Full face, jacket, boots, gloves, and at least jeans.

Never less, even to the corner store.

On the Buell, Full faced helmet (never owned one b4 I bought the Buell), jeans, boots, and gloves. Most of the time my padded FXRG jacket. On the "geezer glide" a half helmet (in helmet law states), jeans, gloves, and boots. Jacket only when it's cold. Long sleeve white shirt when it's hot.

Leather jacket, boots, gloves and at least an open face helmet when commuting -- same plus full face and leather trousers when strafing on the weekends . . .. .

last summer, went down to catch the TTs in Peoria . . .. 97 degrees and 200% humidity . . . me and my bud rode to a restaurant for dinner without lids, and I felt like I'd forgotten my pants! felt very strange . . . .. . .

tollway lady to me on a really hot day . . ."aren't you uncomfortable with all that gear on?"

"damnbetcha! but less uncomfortable than a full body cast"

Full face helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, and usually jeans.

In the winter, I were textile pants. Once it gets above 90 degrees in the summer, I wear a mesh jacket.

Bomber,
You forgot, Bandana, I've never seen you ride without one.
I forgot that in my list of sometimes gear.
Always have one tucked away somewhere though.

For a spin around the block, at least: full face helmet, jacket with full armor, top quality gloves and boots, jeans. For any riding longer than that: Full gear - All the time.

I can assure you that a bit of sweating and monkey butt is A LOT less uncomfortable than road rash and skin grafts.

Let's see.. On the Buell.. Full face, jacket (Joe Rocket or Fieldsheer), gloves, jeans, boots. And some times my one piece leathers.

On the Harley, jeans, boots, usually a half lid, sometimes gloves, vest, jacket or just a shirt.

I guess this just goes to show how ones mentality changes with ones ride? I wouldn't dream of riding the XB without the gear, but the Fat Boy just seems more relaxed and so I don't dress.. enough.. when riding it..

Later,

full face, jacket with armour, gloves with armour, and boots and long pants all the time.
the pants come in some of the time and they are waterproof.

I don't care how hot it is. When I got hit by the drunk, it was 80 degrees and I wasn't riding aggressively.

I used to not even own a helmet 5 years ago. but thank god that changed before everything else did.

yeah I put insurance on my body not just the bike.

I once had a car pull out in front of me in New Orleans. I had no helmet on. I hit it hard, flew over the car, flipped in mid air and tumbled once to land on my feet with no injury. You only get one of those. I always wear my gear now. It has proved worth it more than once look

Honestly until this year the heat never bothered me. I could wear full leather on 100+ days in the desert and not a problem. This year I started having overheating problems. I do have a Joe Rocket vented ballistic cloth jacket that I can wear for the most part but even that has been failing me at the 100+ temps of late.

Gone60, I have the same exact jacket. Add to that matching Teknic Leather pants, teknic gloves, Sidi boots and a KBC Helmet. I wear a mesh jacket when it gets too hot during the summer. In my old age, I don't like to ride without gear. You never know when something may happen and I plan on being prepared as much as possible.

Vanson jacket, boots, gloves, full face helmet and at least Levi's all the time. If I'm going "riding" I throw on my two piece power ranger suit.

Already hotternhell here in the Heart of Dixie. On the Buells J.R. Pheonix jacket and pants with padded bike shorts and coolmax t, boots, armored gloves and fullface lid. On the hawg all the WRONG stuff, scullcap lid, cutoffs, vans, mxgloves. Planning a good ride this wknd with a fellow Bueller, but we're taking our cruisers just to slow us down (and my girlfriend wants to go).

Been hot down here in Yuma, been in the 100's. Today's supposed to be a cool day at 94. When I'm just riding to work, which is on base and about 1 1/2 miles, I wear my a full face helmet, cammies, long sleeves, gloves, and boots. When I ride off base, Full face helmet, Cortech Mesh jacket, long pants, boots and gloves. Down here I can wear the mesh jacket year round, when it gets cold I just need to dress in layers underneath it. (Cold here is in the low 40's, sometimes the high 30's).

I have quit wearing my HD leather jacket now, I am wearing a Joe Rocket ballistic , HD full face and HD ballistic gloves..I need to get some sport bike style boots , but as a previous poster said even the JR can't cope - mine was struggling at 95 degrees in CT last weekend.

My personal opinion about helmets and gear is ..always use.. as the average Armco barrier or concrete median strip doesnt give a toss about how aggressively you are riding or your civil rights...

.. I continue to wonder about the brain capacity of squids in beaters and no helmet or gloves on I 95

Torqer, So that hot glue slider works for ya!
I've got a Teknic leather jacket, Joe Rocket Ballistic 4.0 jacket, and pants. Icon gloves, Olympia gloves, Joe Rocket gloves, Arai helmet, Buell Pole Position helmet, Joe Rocket Revolution boots, a pair from Crusty, and a pair of "Combat" boots from the Army Surplus. The least I wear is jacket gloves jeans boots helmet, take your pick as I mix and match.
Just make sure you wear something, you'll never have a crash and wish you hadn't had so much protection.
