Just finished my 500 mile break in. That was harder than I thought. I have been checking the engine oil level every gas fill up and have been noticing a little drop in fluid level every time. It finally fell into the ADD area. I am going to dump my oil and start fresh again since I am still on factory/dealer oil. My question is what is normal oil consumption for the first 500 miles or so on these XB's? I hope I didn't break her in wrong. Thanks!

I had to add a couple of ounces during the 1000 mile period. Since that oil change I have not had to add any oil (2300 miles).

Mine too. After the first 1000 miles or so, mine quit using oil.

3000 miles of hard riding didn't use any oil on my Firebolt, nor has it at any time beyond break-in...sounds like business as usual to me.
