Anyone have any pictures of a Flat Black Firebolt? I'm thinking about covering the last owner's scratches and fading from sitting outside for 2+ years

I think you should just do it and then take some pics.

flat-black

Painted mine flat black in 2006. Paint is holding up very nicely, I tested half a dozen different brands of rattle can flat black, and Rustoleum's Textured for Metals held up better than anything else I had tried, including Krylon's Fusion for Plastics.

I prepped the plastics with a red Scotchpad, sprayed away, and flattened out the texture with some less aggressive pads about a week later. IIRC I've got $16 invested in my paint job. : )

i bought some abused skins for my 9S and painted it flat black using Krylon fusion "satin black". wasnt really happy with the initial results but like chainsaw, i scuffed it with some light scotch brite and it actually looks decent. i put it on every now and then to switch up things but its not my ace set. just experiment, if you dont like it...sand it and spray over it.

Brother in Buells, that bike looks awesome. That's exactly what I want to do. Thanks for the pictures!
