Is this possible? If so what do I need to do?

I have a xb12Ss

I Just don't want a passenger seat so I'm looking for a rear seat cowl or seeing if a Firebolt sub frame would fit on my bike.

Yes, but it doesn't bolt on due to the differences in the 4.4 gallon frame. You will need to make an adapter bracket but it is doable.

Has anyone done this before? Or does anyone make a kit for this?

I'd like to just find a rear seat cowl for my bike...probably be easier.

That SS with the orange wheels is sharp.
It makes me want to buy back the SS I
sold a few years ago and make it look like
the one above.

I had my passengers seat recovered it gave it a cowl look but it could be sat on at anytime w/o needing to remove parts.

Does anyone know someone personally that has done the Firebolt subframe on an Lightning?! I found a sub frame and I think I want to go that route now. I just want to ask them what they all did exactly to make this work...

I am not ready to make that change yet. The wife likes the Firebolt sub frame. when ever I get a new bike I will probily do the mod. There was a guy a 1125cr that put a lightning sub frame on it. that was a good looking bike

The best way to do it is to trade with someone, and do it together.
No forgotten or missing parts.
Wolfridgerider and I did just that.
Took about an hour.

I have seen the Lightning to Firebolt conversion, but not the vice versa. I like the comfort of the Lightning seat, but the fairing protection of the Firebolt. Does anyone have pics of the Firebolt to Lightning subframe swap? I keep acquiring Firebolts, but my love for the "S" look and its comfort continue to sway me!

After searching a little for pics...
How to S to R
Now for the pics...

Wolfridgerider's bike with my S tail.

Lonexb's bike, in white and black.

Fireflyer's bike.

There's plenty more, all I did was search for "tail swap"

Actually Glitch, it is two different bikes.
The white one is a 9r. The black one is a 12r.

wouldn't it be easier to go from a R to a S because of where all the electronics are stored? You would have to reposition them with the R tail. I think I have heard of people haveing trouble with the bank angle sensor after a swap? Just what I have heard.
