I know, I'm probably driving you all nuts with questions on the XB. Sorry about this but being I'm still healing (1 week left and the brace comes off). I was trying to find reviews on dealerships in florida and can't find anything. I was wondering if anyone in Central Florida could give me some info on how they were treated and does the dealership backup what they sell.

Also, what insurance companies are you with? I was looking at Progressive for insurance because Allstate has been raping me on the price.

I've been after some Florida feedback for a bit now...

I don't wan't to slam folks online by name, but don't buy in southwest Florida! Gainesville HD had the lowest price I could find in the state and there's a registered BRAG club up there too, I wish they'd move south...

Best rate I found on insurance was the "tired of overpaying?" ad toward the front of the cycle trader, and he did my 12R for mid 500s/year. Out of my county rates tend to drop, too. The HD dealer said they could get good rates through Harley, for what it's worth.

The agent is Peter Laczko, and gave me great quotes on all four bikes I seriously looked at. Very helpful! The company he placed my policy with is "American Southern Home Insurance Company," guess they do more than homes. Naturally, now I can't remember his company name, think it's just Peter Laczko Insurance, but he runs a business-card size ad in every week of the Cycle Trader where all those business card ads are in the front part. All I remember is that quote in his ad...

I purchased my XB9S from Fletcher's HD in clearwater! They have been really good with servicing and have 2 technicians there that specialize in Buells.

I too have insurance thru Peter Laczko Insurance.
He is in Wellington, Fl.
1-888-883-1650
He placed me with INA-Insurance Company of North America.

I bought my XB9S at Lakeland HD.It was a very good experience. They have a salesman that rides a Buell so he is into it.The owners son races and the owner also has a Buell so they are better than most HD dealers when it comes to Buell

I bought my X1 from Bob D. at Orlando HD/Buell. I recommend seeing him and I can't complain about the service department there either. I see you are from Cocoa, ever come to Orlando Thursday night for bike night at Steak and Shake?

Live in Florida, but bought out of state...... No registration fees. If there is a way you can get an address in NW Florida.... the panhandle, insure it within that region/county. Your rates will generally be lower than the lower half.... south of Gainsville Florida. I'm with USAA and get off fairly cheap. At least I haven't found anyone to beat them. I work with a friend who got an awesome insurance deal with Harley Davidson Insurance. Try them before committing.

Good Luck,

Blackhat

I bought my XB from Chuck at West Palm Harley.
So far they have been great. He in turn sent me to Peter Laszko from Wellington for insurance. Progressive wanted $2900 to add it to my Sportster policy... got it for my Sportster & the Buell for $450 From Peter.

I'm living in Marianna, between Tally and PC, bought both my Buells from Flint River H-D Buell of Albany Ga. Super folks to deal with, no complaints at all. Full coverage $250 deductable with towing at State Farm runs about $30 a mo. for my XB9R, $34 for my X1, and $38 for my Superglide. I'm 49, last speeding ticket over 2 yr ago and have 3 cars and house with State Farm for last 24 yrs.

Definitely shop around for insurance. Most quotes I got online were for $2,500-$4,000 a year! (That's what I get for being a beginner 22 year old I guess). HD dealer got me the lowest quote for $2,000/year through Dairyland. I finally was able to add it to my parents policy where it's only $400/year.

I bought my XB12R at Huffman's in Lakeland last week,
I have enjoyed the experience so far. Salesman is a self admitted Buell freak, owner and son both own them too (as posted above). I also ride a rigid shovel, 4 speed, kick only bobber, so this was a huge jump for me to go sportbike. Looking to ride with others (Dave, lilpup, anyone else local?) I work Sundays ... so would have to be thursday-saturday, or weeknight after 6.

Wahoo, we have a BRAG club out of Huffman's. There should be a good turn out for the ride this Sat. It starts a little early( meet time is 8:15am) but it would be a good time to meet up with a lot of local riders( Buell and otherwise).Hope to see you there.

Was doing some digging on the HD dealerships, found the XB12R at the Gainsville HD for $9955. So far best price I've seen, might have to go up there and bite. BTW, if I get a Buell from one dealership can I get warrenty work done at any HD/Buell dealer?

I have been able to get warranty work done at other dealerships, all they need is the warranty card.

Just called up the Ocala Harley dealer and was told $9000 out the door for an XB12R. I doubt this includes tax, tag and title but still...
