ok so for the last 3 years I've been battling with a true buell carbon chin spoiler. It came with spacers but I found they wasnt long enough and neither is the stock bolts. im going to try to explain this the best I can.The problem I found was the carbon piece doesnt have as much spacing built in as the stock one so when you tighten it down its up against the cam cover on one side and the other up against the clutch cable. I've tried many differant ways of spacing it and bracing it with no real success. When it's spaced out it puts it in a bind causing it to push bolts out. When this happens the vibration wallows the holes out. This brings me to my next problem the holes are pretty messed up now. At one point i thought well the only visible part of my carbon spoiler is the center section so i could just cut it out and use it as a center section on my stock chin spoiler but then that got jacked up to. Now that buell is shut down and I cant get this true buell piece anymore I'd really like to salvage it without it being a hack job. I had the side section pieces painted because I want a clean almost factory look. I was curious if anyone has any ideas. I've thought about building more material on it but have absolutely no experience with it. I'd be willing to send it to someone with experience if they felt like messing with it. If i dont find a solution ill probably just sell it. For some reason through all my frustration I havent given up yet and havent brought myself to be able to get rid of it. Here are some crappy cell phone pics.

buell sticker painter ripped off

the lack of spacing by my finger

vibration took care of these holes

easy fix with fiberglass. repair kits can be had for like $20. it will all be hidden when installed.

that was what i was thinking. i've never messed with fiberglass. I guess I could try it and worst case scenario i still cant use it.I wonder if a body shop would be interested in it.

dont take it directly to a body shop. if you know a guy that works at one see if he'll be willing to mess with it on the side. a "body shop" will likely not be interested in messing with such a small piece or they'll charge you rediculously for it. as for fiberglass, its super easy and super fixable if you screw it up. one year ago i had absolutely not experience glassing but as of today ive done hours and hours of all sorts of project for myself and others. doesnt take much, just a little patience and willingness to deal with the mess. if you decide to go with glassing it, look me up and i'll try to talk you through it.
