Not offense to any one but Harley Davidson, like the rest of the corporate world is all about making money, so it doesn't matter how stupid their decisions are, eventually someone have to answers to poor decisions and someone will get axxed if you the decision was not to benefit the company in one ways or another. Time will tell, however my humble opinion is that eventually HD will strike a deal with Erik and have him as an independent business, even if HD is a 49% shareholder. |

I tend to think that is where it is most likely headed. They largely muffed it up when they decided to have an H-D CEO in charge. The boutique shop format won't work with a small sportbike builder offering entry level equipment. The extra disposable funds for foo-foo don't follow such crowds anything approaching rabid Duck groupies or big-twin posers. Until it breaks one way or the other H-D will continue to fly the Buell brand through this back-door operation. Buell has been quite valuable to the Sportster sales via applied XB/XR technology. If they can work out a more productive sales environment they can still scratch each other's backs. For now, H-D holds all the cards to all current Buell material. It's up to them to fold or play. |

I am wondering about the XBRR motor. The Thunderstorm has a lot in common with the Evo motor to let Buell have it. I wounder if the XBRR motor derivative will be used in future street bikes. |

A lot of parts from the derived from the XBRR made it onto the street bikes over the last few years. See the 2008 XB motor, and ZTL2 brakes. |
