Anyone got one of the exploded view diagrams for the R fairing from the parts manual? My fairing stay just came in for my Ss-to-R swap project, and there seems to be a lot of holes that need filling (didn't get ANY bolts with it... should have known!). I have no idea what I might be missing in order to attach it, and mount the gauges and whatnot. Thanks! ~SM | ||

Hmmm...I need one too! lol I tore down the front cluster on my '03 XB9S to have the instrument support brackets powder coated black. The powder coater took 3 1/2 weeks, which I did not expect! I assumed my service manual had a diagram, but it does not. Guess I need to go get a parts manual! In the meantime...got a pic of that for me? Please and thank you! | ||

Mine is the 9R book which probably won't help. Hopefully someone else has the 9S book. I know my dealer has a bunch of those books in stock if you have a hard time finding it. | ||

Andy I don't have a copy of the S manual scanned up, but when I took apart my setup I recall it pretty much was two of those security bolts holding the ignition and fairing to the frame, then some smaller screws holding a cross brace, and then a few more screws holding the flyscreen on. Should be self explanatory | ||

Yeah I'm not too concerned....except for a 3/8" spacer that I don't know where it came from!  I'll play with it tonight and see if it's obvious where it goes. I'm sure I'll have it all back together in a few minutes! | ||

Andy, I'm digging back here a ways from when I had mine apart, but I believe the spacer is for the ignition. Do you have a fork lock w/o it? I could be wrong, though... | ||

That would make sense- it kinda fell into my hand, and I don't know where it came from! But it fell out shortly after removing the ignition. What do you mean by "Do you have a fork lock w/o it?"? Are you asking if the forks lock of I do not use the spacer somewhere? I have not re-assembled anything yet, so I can't answer that question just yet... | ||

I believe the spacer is what extends the ignition lock into the frame. Can't recall for sure... | ||

Oh...that makes sense! I'll post back this evening with my findings. Thanks! Oh, and SM- here's another pics from the svc manual. Same pic, different labels. I like this one because it labels them decently. For example, #1..."screw"?? it's a damn bolt! lol  |
