I hate to say this but you CANNOT use Badweb for free advertising.

We ALL signed the same agreement.

I'm waiting for my race sponsor to become a sponsor here so I can talk them up a bit - not fair that some will wait while others take free plugs.

Sponsorship is REALLY cheap here.

Seriously, hit up Blake and become a sponsor! You can get people actively promoting your stuff.

My bad. Ya I actually emailed Blake saturday and he just got back to me about an hour after I posted this. He said I need to talk to a sponsor and get them to sale my kits. But now I only have six left so it's kind of pointless. If I make some more I will just start my own temporary business I suppose and get be a sponsor on here. I really don't feel like trying to sale through a middleman. I deleted the previous post. Have any better ideas?

I think the sponsor selling them for you would not be a bad thing.

If you have easy access to design and NC programming/machining - you might hit up some of the other sponsors - especially the dealer sponsors who don't have machining capability.

Also - you might consider putting a deflector up front. I know my chain really throws a lot of crud forward. I still don't use a chain guard and once in a while my toe will hit the sprocket - but it DOES make a mess of the wires when I wax the chain.

Im actually have a piece made from plastic that will bolt to the front two holes behind the aluminum plate. It wont cover the wires from the chain but it will keep them hidden.

If you're contemplating sponsorship you should find other things to make as well to make it more worth while. Could you do some of these?

These would look cool with the Pegasus or I seen some a while back that had "XB" on them. Just a thought.

I actually already designed one, but with the amount of machining that would go into this I couldn't make one for cheap.

You may be able to purchase plain aluminum caps cheap, then machine-engrave just the logo?

That's actually a very good idea and much more plausible. Hopefully Ill get some time next month and should have alot in December so Ill crank out some more sprocket cover kits and possibly some new designs. I actually just made a prototype plastic piece today that covers the wires in front of the sprocket cover I made.

Be careful with using Buell's artwork, if you sell them.

Ya I was wondering about that. I will probably just stick to the sprocket covers for now.

Somehow I'd think HD would want a say and cut of any such part's sales assuming they approve. Even though they've discarded the company they'll still want to milk money out of the carcass.

I highly doubt H/D will go after anybody for using buells symbol on a small run scale like eBay.They didn't before and it's even less likely they will after they dumped buell.IMHO

Mind u others will say it's wrong/theft.......but it's not taking money from nobodys pocket's I care about. I.E. H/D

HD still owns all the trademarks, they still can come after you. Whether they will or not, thats another question. Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

I am having some covers that go with the kit to cover the wires. The pic and description is in this other thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/499864.html?1254942505
