What bar end weights do you guys have? Do they help? Do they effect the handling?

I use nice big ones from HVMP . They are the Heavyweight Stainless steel ones.

They help damp handlebar vibration, look nice, and provide a useful measure of protection if the bike falls down.

Made by Johnnylunchbox, if I recall correctly, a brother Buelligan. ( Hope I got that right:-)

web site is:http://www.hvmp.com/universal.htm

They look like this:
x

At $55 they are a very good value.

Do they hamper the throttle at all? Reason I ask is I had some bar end mirrors on my Blast and the throttle would sometimes stick a little.

you can fix any stick by trimming back the grip just a hair

I have been thinking of picking up a pair of weights for some time.
These look very nice, but...
Anyone know of a few more companies that make them?
Especially ones that are black

Thanks,
Alex

If they stick, you installed them wrong. You just loosen the screw a tad and slide it out a hair and re-tighten. That yellow O-ring is my throttle lock, I drop it in-between the barend and grip to give instant cruise control. : )

HVMP can have them coated in almost any color you want. Give them a shout.

Cool option for any looking to do weights with bar end mirrors: use Oberon LED bar end turn signals. Vibes don't matter with bar-end mirrors - for some reason, they are always rock steady.

So if I were to want to add something to the ends of my bars, I would do something that does double duty, and gives me cool, extra-visible turn signals as well. Plus, the signal is visible from beside and behind the bike as well as in front, so others see them (and the rider sees her blinker is still flashing and cancels it).

barend flasher

Prepped and ready for coating in the A.M. will post a pic of them for you when they are done. Makes the wait for the mail that much more fun.

The Extra Heavy ones are designed to work with the Uly or CityX handguards.

Just to clarify. My wife owns and operates HVMP. I am merely a spokesperson. : )
